  • Hannah Morpeth is a 19-year-old student training to be a mental health nurse. In her spare time she is a writer of prose. She got involved with TEDx as it is an opportunity to talk to a wide range of people about a topic she is passionate about. Her talk is about the impact modern day society has on the body confidence of young people. Is the promotion of unrealistic body ideals squashing whatever confidence people do have and should we be teaching more media literacy?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
