OBD2 DTC P0128 - Solved

A 2009 RAM 1500 with 5.7l hemi ran cold. It didn't heat up to normal temperature and displayed DTC P0128 (engine coolant temperature is below the thermostat regulating temperature). We suspected a faulty thermostat. In this video we replace it and it solved the problem.

Good catch. We did refill the radiator with new coolant, but didn't empty the overflow tank. Forgot to show that in the video.

Yes, you do need to remove radiator cap to drain radiator, however, remove the cap AFTER removing drain plug. This will prevent fluid from gushing out, and it gives yourself a little time to get a hose or something else in place to capture the fluid.
