    i’ve got a 17 sport and i get this sort of thumping that happens ESP when turning left or right. seems like it’s coming from the rear and maybe the right side too. do you think this may be the cause? i’m gonna have to crawl under and check but it’s funny because it was at the dealers a couple months ago and they never brought it up and i did tell them about it you think they would’ve checked

    • @thehomerepairguy
      @thehomerepairguy Před měsícem

      Usually when the thumping is when turning left or right it is a CV joint. You can tell by looking just inside the front wheels. There is an accordion looking round disc in the center of the wheel with a metal shaft going through the center. If that rubber is cracked or ripped or if there is grease or oil leaking from them then that CV joint is usually bad and requires replacement. They are a service item and not too expensive to replace.

      @@thehomerepairguy it’s only on launch type scenarios IE when youre turning left at the intersection once the light turns green and you can feel it’s in the rear. It almost feels like a caliper isn’t releasing properly but i had the brakes done not too long ago so i don’t think it’s that

As soon as i put the spare on the noise stopped completely blew my mind so I'm thinking ok bad tire i guess when put new/used tire on noise still never came back. So now yesterday I have the other 3 tires replaced and had that right rear rotated to the front pick it up and boom the dreaded noise is back. I had a similar problem and I did what you have demonstrated here. After replacing the board the treadmill runs ok if I don't step on it, if I am on it runs for 32 seconds exactly. After the 32 seconds it stops. Then I have to press the stop button and start it again, it runs for another 32 seconds and then stops. I called a servicing company to re-align the belt and they did. So I know this is not a belt problem. They also lubricated the inner side of the belt. At this time it's looking like it is either a controller problem (faulty replacement controller) or the motor problem which seems unlikely given the motor is working when I am not on it. Any ideas what I can try?

      There are only three things to check. The EGR valve to be sure it is opening and holds a vacuum. The EGR sensor which you can check with an ohm meter and the vacuum lines which you can check with a vacuum pump with a gauge. It should be one of those. If your is a 91 you may have cracked vacuum lines. Good luck.

For the rear camera the wire to the stereo is a trigger wire. The rear camera gets its power from the back up light circuit. For the front camera, the FCCD wire supplies the power. Hope that helps.

    Hello. I came across your video and I'm curious how this worked out for you through the remainder of the summer months. The evap cooler on my house uses a thermostatic control, which is entirely mechanical, and I have to manually switch it on/off. Most of the controllers I've seen seem mediocre, so I was considering different smart relay options (Sonoff and other brands). Any updates on how your experience with this would be appreciated. Thanks!

    • @thehomerepairguy
      @thehomerepairguy Před 3 měsíci

      It has been a game changer. My controller has a thermostat, but it always short cycled the cooler and drove me crazy so I had to basically used it as an on/off switch. I have a two story house with one controller up stairs and one down. I used to have to go upstairs to turn off the cooler each time. Now, I can control it from the couch. Also, If we are out of town and return home, I can switch it on from the road an hour before we arrive and have the house nice and cool. My nest thermostats which control my heating and AC give me a readout on my phone so I can tell when I need to switch on some cooling or when I can switch it off. I can even control the evap coolers based on the readout from the nests. I am loving this home automation stuff.

      Thanks. My father in law bought the car new so I wanted to keep it original and in a good shape since it is a family heirloom. We love to drive it.

    I’m just confused on how to get that tube off and turn it a different angle, I got the front off, but i have to keep my hands on it, and it can’t stretch that far back!

      If you mean the air boot coming from the air cleaner, yeah, that is a royal pain. It helps if it is warm. I take the nuts off the front and then push the carb back into the boot real hard so it clears the studs and then twist it out to the side to get the carb out of the boot. To get it back in, I reverse the process and put the carb in the boot first and then work it over the studs ion the front. I have tried everyway possible to get the boot on after I mount the carb to the studs and have never got it to slide over the back side. Hope that helps.

    Why is the blue wire not connected?

    • @thehomerepairguy
      @thehomerepairguy Před 4 měsíci

      That is the antenna wire and is only used if you have a power antenna. The frontier has a fixed antenna

    How do you trigger the front camera exactly? I want to go off roading and go bam, easy press a button and it just pops up!

      You start the front camera from the main screen. It is one of the icons you select so it is pretty quick and easy like you want.

    Great instruction video. I will order same head unit. I have same 07 Fronty (no steering wheel radio but just cruise control only) Questions: 1.Did the stereo came with cameras front n back too ? 2. Did you buy extra brackets or stock brackets were enough ? Thnx a lot !!

    • @thehomerepairguy
      @thehomerepairguy Před 4 měsíci

      The stereo came with a backup camera that is a little cube, but we used one we got from amazon that is beveled for a more integrated look. Instead of a bracket, we drilled through the plastic housing for the tailgate handle and mounted the camera through that hole. it is shown in the last part of the video. Hope that helps.

    I assuming your harness kit didn’t come with a new antenna adapter plug that has a single blue wire on it as well. I’m trying to figure out where I have to connect that blue wire. Do I connect to blue/white wire on the metra harness that says it’s for antenna OR do I wire it to the blue wire on the sjoybring stereo harness that goes connected to the metra harness. Or do I just not connect that antenna adapter at all and just plug in the old antenna plug into sjoybring? Sorry for the paragraph I’m just stuck at this last spot and want to get it right before I go ahead and solder wires.

      You only connect the antenna wire if you have a power retracting and extending antenna. Those are not common these days so most people don't connect it. It is not for radio reception. It is the trigger to tell your antenna to extend or retract.

    Back again. Do you know if line to carb from pump needs to be primed? My carb bowl is not filling up. Ive removed carb top 4x to fill. I know I have the correct rod length and suspecting diaphragm may have a pinhole. No leaks anywhere i could see.

    • @thehomerepairguy
      @thehomerepairguy Před 5 měsíci

      Mine worked without having to prime it. Did both of the little reed valves look good? They have to work for the gas to pump.

      @thehomerepairguy as it turned out when I removed electric pump and repeated fuel tank, the line to chasis became kinked thus not allowing fuel to flow. Its good now just need to tune my Chinese carb ugggh
