I firmly believe that one reason Stevie is such a successful racer is that he obviously understands the equipment he runs. Love this tech stuff. Keep it up from time to time. Thanks 😊

Stevie you are a steely eyed missileman. Pro Mod is the future of NHRA. By far the most entertaining.

KTR converter school now in session! Great video Stevie thanks
Love it, I might need to buy one of those transmissions.
Mechanic at the top of his game. Now how about some kudos to the scientists & engineers who design & build this stuff? Highly technical world we live in.
Kickass video. Thank you!
Great Stuff!!!
Never could quite understand how it works.
Thank You
Most beautiful thing in cars!
Awesome video! Very informative! Have a great day .
Great video learned a lot
Awesome content, thank you!
BFH is a Matco part number glad you remember
Great video
Great video! I actually learned something from a CZcams video!! I've always been a stick shift guy so it was cool to learn more about an automatic. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Thanks for making this video 👍🏻
I absolutely love in depth technical content like this. I would love to see more content like this! Keep up the great work and keep grinding and making shit happen. KTR TTFMFRS
Wow Stevenson what a super great teacher you are very impressive details !!!!🌝⚡🏆🏅
Finally I can get a good understanding
Good content Steve
So glad to see somebody else not treating parts like egg shells, good vid with comedy added
That's crazy I've never seen that before very interesting pretty much the same as a transmission
I’m ready to tear into a lock up converter after this! Great video!
We need more in depth videos like this! Maybe one on a screw blower vs roots and one on the trans?
Best video yet.... love the in depth technical videos KTRTTF
I've heard people and do dome of the DUMBEST stuff when it came to converters, and everything I could remember them saying, never sounded right and you just made fun of 80% of them LOL - makes me feel a little better 😂 - awesome video and thank you for the time to do this!
Very good instructional video and like the tech tips 👍👍👍👍
Very nice video! Thanks! Btw, if your O-ring doesn't stay in place, that means your install grease isn't thick enough.
He'll yeah, Grovetown Groovy , very thorough and detailed . If and when we meet at TRACK I might have to beat you on tree (light) .
Build then, race them,and service them ! You're Good,Real GOOD !!!
Dam good video, very well to the point. , do drama no music , just good info, GOOD ON SFJ!!!!!!!!!!!
Great videos!!!
This was awesome. Thanks for the information. I'm cringing thinking about someone jamming those bolts on with an impact without starting them by hand.
Oh God, me too! As I was watching this (I can just imagine walking from a pit I'm working in or just hanging out and walking over to another pit) and watching someone load one of those bolts into their impact like they are putting up drywall, lol, and immediately hearing the impact beat the sh*t out of the bolt...followed by 2 more scenarios in my head 1) the person quickly stopping and realizing they might be able to salvage it with a tap but still sh*tting themselves because they won't be working on the car anymore or 2), they don't let off the trigger until the impact stop hammering because there's no aluminum threads left or no head of a bolt left.. LOL.. and my guess on that is oh, they make that kind of mistake, then god only knows what else they've done to that car (which is SKETCHY) haha
Speaking of, anytime teams are just straight-up shorthanded and/or have volunteers that aren't too experienced, the anxiety level definitely for me being on a crew or watching a team (especially when they are shaking down a new.car, etc..especially high-power stuff, people aren't looking at stuff such as header bolts, body fasteners and so on, just to name a couple examples, things that you do not want falling off the car and going under the tire or on to the track for somebody else to run over and so on. Something I've seen with a few different promod is they may only be running a high seven or eight second quarter mile because they literally are making their first hits and slipping the crap out of the clutch or converter, usually intentionally and anytime you're potentially adding a few SECONDS of ET, the guys GOTTA check everything, especially once they're at the shop - otherwise you don't know how often things will rattle apart oh, what kind of service live your particular car might have and so on...AAAANND I'm going to stop here because I didn't mean to derail THIS much LMFAO 🤷🏻♂️😂
cool video, thanks
Damn. That makes it look easy!
Thanks for the video very informative. Keep it coming. Hope to get back to normal life soon. Need to smell some smoke.
I hope Marty helps your program out for doing this. You are extremely good at instructional videos.
This is what gets you subs, awesome video!
More stuff like this please
Would have loved to see you send that piston flying after dropping the hammer on the airgun. Lol Great video.
great job love the humor
Thanks for doing this! Great information! That answers every question I had on how you all use a lockup converter. Love seeing the shop stuff and thanks for taking time to put this together. Do yall typically use only Brad Anderson motor parts?
Stevie Fast #1!!
Never forgot him explaining the tune on his blower car....Donkey, drop, Bermuda Triangle, Promise Land. Fuel is squishy ( or something like that ), ignition gives a harder change. I think I got enough to tune a Pro Mod!😝
Good stuff
Redoing a converter with a 12K dollar watch on.... I like it haha
Best video ever
good video
I love the leftover clutch laying on the table after assembly is done. lol Great video, I never knew much about those things.
Thanks for that 👍👌
Didn't realize those things had a whole stack of frictions n steels. That is a thing of cnc beauty
Well I learned something!
Fucking KILLER video, Stevie. Was very informative on torque converter maintenance and stater change. KTR for the win!
Cool explanation of the converter , what shop towel/paper do you use to stop the fiber transfer into the converter ?
Great video Mr Fast. I do wish you were able to build a car that was more geared to us normal blue collar guys who can just build what we can afford. I think we would learn stuff we could put into action more. Thanks for shari g brotha.
We've been messing w/ different blade counts n pitch angles trying to dial in our toy 😬 trying to be 1st diesel in the 3s 🤞😎
Is there a difference between track surfaces and track prep on when the converter completely locks up?
Man what a loooooong dry spell since the last tech vid and when is a Q and A vid ever gonna happen again ?
Really enjoyed the info about that type of converter. How much do they cost and how much do T/C drives for the trans cost ?
You need to do another ping pong ball drawing for fans that lets them help with the car in the shop. I'm not gonna anything about the clutch disc left on the table or anything about turbans (since you have been to Bahrain so many times) or ask you where your mask is or remind you to stop touching your face lol
Needed to see some Stevie Fast .......thanks for making the effort and keep yall safe there now.
This was gold... do you guys ever experiment with different clutch stacks as opposed to always clutch steel clutch steel config?
Can you put a lockup converter in a regular transmission or do you have to do something special to make the trans lock up
The fluid looks good. What transmission fluid do you use?
Two dowel pins in your work bench say 12 and 6 o'clock. dowel pins line up with the holes where the flex plate is bolted. this will hold the convertor in place while you torque all those bolts.can you drive the dowel pins on the convertor through the bottom
My question Stevie is that can you run a torque converter without sprags or diodes or is that a requirement for a converter like those? My truck I bracket race I have no sprags or diodes which gives the converter more RPM stall
Great video Stevie! Was surprised that you guys use a sprag in the convertor, especially with the amount of power you guys make. Any advantage to using it versus the convertor being spragless? I've heard spragless is good for 1/8mi racing and a sprag is good for 1/4mi racing, any truth to that?
What trans fluid do you guys utilize?
Do those utilize some sort of big dawg sprag or is that a mechanical diode? Or are those the same thing?
Thanks for the videos, always entertaining and informative.
What a difference a good billet converter makes, and they should for that kind of $$ putting out for it
