You've gotta be the most underrated drummer on CZcams. That was ridiculously good! I actually just recently reversed my kit to be like yours, and while it sucks I can no longer play many of my tried and true favorite licks, I do love how much it opens up my left hand for syncopation and is just much more practical overall (in my opinion.) I can honestly see this setup becoming the future of drumming.

I feel like DMB's music is often so well put together that it's easy for not so big of fans to notice the complexity in each musicians contribution to the song. I like to watch cover videos like this on CZcams because it provides a visual separation that makes it easier to pay attention to that detail. That said, this is one of my favorite songs, and it has it all. Pure blissful musicianship, complex time signatures, deep deep lyrics, and a sick solo.

Harry! Freakin awesome man. One of the nuances I love about Carter's playing is that 'fat sticking' on the hi-hat. You nail that sound perfectly. Honestly, Carter is probably my favorite drummer but if I saw a Dave concert and you were sitting in I'd be totally cool with that.

Nice job 👍🏼 Watching your vid on open hand drumming what’s pretty funny is I had a similar situation when liberty Devitto ( Billy Joel’s original drummer ) noticed I led with my left hand. It was something I never realized. But in order to end on my right hand I would in a fill somewhere double up on my left! I never flipped my kit as I did correct it but always go back to it sometimes when playing open hi hat I still use my left hand to hit the snare. Awesome videos that one took me back to the past! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
