If you ever decide on painting the fence poles and brackets. Look into Red Oxide. It is affordable primer so that home owner can paint on top what ever they want but more specifically it is designed as a anti rust coating and it's really worth it. You can include that as a service and the upcharge is tiny if any and you can do it with a small compressor right on sight. Home owners are generally keen on it because it saves them the hassle of adding a base coat. If you have a small shop and you need to transport the load the metal won't scuff easily and it takes arch welding really well. Thank you for all the pointers you gave in this series. Been wondering on designs and ideas for mine. This is looking really sharp. I like the top bar/ brackets and your idea of letting water drip at bottom 'slats'. Definitely stealing that idea. Great stuff & thank you.

The cedar boards expand and contract the way the grain is going. There will actually be a small gap between boards next year because fresh cedar like that actually shrinks width wise. Staining the boards will slow the process but not stop it. Tell the customer thats called wind gap. Other customers ask for a wind gap and you have to explain that it will naturally make it's own.
      The fence looks great!

The rectangular tubing on the brick. I would have drilled the outside holes large enough for whole screw and deepwell socket to get inside and then after installation weld up the outside holes. Now the gate can be wider as it doesn't have to clear the screw heads. Also if the front of the tubing gets dented in it will still be tight against the house.

As always awsome video, only thing I would say is always core drill your latch post in the situation you had, never attach to the house. One reason is you created a place for water to get into the house brick. Second is in some areas you have to have a contractors license and building permit to attach to a house or permanent structure.

A rough figure would be helpful to me (Not what you charged on the build, just an idea of your up charge for paint finishing work) Seems welding content makers are always a bit reluctant to share what they charged for a particular project so I get it if you’d prefer not to, but figure since you didn’t charge for paint, it might be a little less sensitive to share an estimate. I think that would be very valuable info to viewers though if they are trying to break into the industry as self employed welders and there doesn’t seem to be a lot of you tubers covering that (aside from hypothetical type quoting formula videos). I’ve been building fence for 5 years now and would have never thought of this design. I love the aspect of easy maintenance. How long did this take from start to finish?
