Norlins arent screwed up. They’re great guitars. If you played one instead of reading nonsensical comments you’d understand. Especially early 70s with mahogany necks
I remember in the 90s it was hard finding them that didn't have neck issues
Some much clarity without being shrill. Even with youtube audio I love the way this sounds.
Kool 2 see da bros hangN' out. Thanks 4 the info Paul N' sharing the R9. Cheers! Likd 39
Looks good. Sounds awesome! Thanks for sharing. 13:00 😍👍
man i miss my dark brown SG classic from 1999-2000
that thing vibrated sooooooo gooooood
it had the special heel joint
can't remember who the dude was that built the necks for the SG's back then
that SG grew legs and walked outta my life
man the P90's on that thing
if you ever get an SG with the top where it curves and it has a dent the shape of a guitar cable plug
its MINE!!! LOL
nobody respects the OG LP the SG
My Buddy Scott Freilich ( RIP) dug out many Real Bursts from Buffalo NY.
One was mine. Another great one was a 60, with a 2 stamped right under the serial# . This meant that Gibson market it as a second. It had a slight finish problem near the upper bout.
Nice tones
What pedal did you kick in for that gain?
Sweet!!!
Excellent post excellent guitar 👍👍👌👌
Paul on again 🤘🤘🤘👍👍👍👍🍻
Cool guitar
I bet Joe has most of the guitars unaccounted for
The top isn't carved right and the pots are not in the correct place.
Gorgeous
As already noticed the pink bleeding on the binding, originals may have a small amount of bleed, but not that bright pink, show photographic evidence.
Muy Bueno 👍🏼 🎸🔥
Paul really knows his stuff.🧐🎸👍
Yeah maybe but he did not mention how the early 60''s are the exact same as the 59 with the beefier neck
and the dye that could fade. Later 60's have the slimmer necks and use the dye that does not fade over time.
I would rather have a early 60's because they do not cost as much and are pretty much the same as the 59.
Very cool. Paul is great at talking. Wonder what he does for a living 😄
Damn gibsons are lofty
She is a beauty, Love that Gain tone.... Uff
Not 1600 1959 Lesters. More like 600 for 1959. I have two 60th Anniversary R9s. Great guitars. But they are different from an original. Top carve is glaringly different. Neck is much thicker at the headstock. Serial number has been printed for years on the R9s. Bottom line is they don't sound like the old guitars. But they sound great for what they are.
Yes love those 59 anniversarys I've also got two, they play nice, and are sunrise tea burst finished, one's quite flamey the other less so. Only thing is the bleeding on the neck and body binding has turned bright pink on both of mine, you don't see that bleeding on originals.
Lol he was like idk what the hell that even means because he was silently saying no homo haha 😆
Hey Dane you coming back to Talkin guitars and 80s metal next week????
I might...
The glue may of killed the workers building 1950s gibsons but they died for a worthy cause. I'd say atleast they was getting high but I'm sure it wasn't a good recreational high. For those about to rott we salute you....
Great info !
9:15 isn’t anyone going to say anything about the paint leaching into the neck binding ?
Notice how RED the binding is on the neck , betting it has that red/ pink hue ALL THE WAY AROUND that pc.
GIBSON used the WRONG paint !
Murphy Labs will be the closest you’ll ever get to a 59 gibson !
It bleeds, because that's what happened with the originals. Any actual '59 will have that bleed. The Murphy Lab relicing didn't start until 2021. Tough to time travel. That's the closest you'll get to a '59
Boy are you wrong Boss notes..
First thing I noticed was the bleeding, although not as pink as both of mine, why people believe that's what happened to the originals I don't understand I've haven't seen any visual photographic evidence. I love the guitars from custom shop but I think it was not intended to bleed so bad.
First thing I noticed, Mine's gone bright pink, intended or not, I think not show me photographic evidence.
Get educated on the Norlin era...they didn’t start “ screwing up the guitars” during this period! I have a 2020 USA les Paul std 50s that already has the 3rd fret inlay coming loose. I have a 72 les Paul Deluxe that is the most resonant well made les Paul I own. All years have good and bad production...just have to play them to find a good one. Obviously you haven’t played any Norlin era guitars.
I have one of these and they are stellar guitars! Best 59's Gibson has done in years! It has all the Historically correct parts
like the rings, toggle switch poker chip, 50's knobs and the neck profile is Perfect! Like the guy in the video explained these
are cloned from a real 59 named "Carmelita" the Bonamassa owned.
He is telling the truth Gibson can no longer use the PHENOL FORMALDEHYDE Resin they used in the 50's to glue the tops.
Gibson did not use hide glue to attach the Maple cap they used PF resin. so Gibson had to use something similar that is not outlawed.
The Hide glue is used to glue the neck to body, fingerboard to neck just like they did in 59.
It’s 59 because Jimmy page 😂
Beautiful guitar but way out of my price range.
Purchased more to look at rather then to gig with..😳..
I play it at home. Wouldn’t gig with it at all. Some monkey knocks it over…meh.
I have Standards for gigging. This would be for home, and recording.
Dude's sidekick is a total doofus...
Good lord what a useless demo.
