I was there that night. The crowd felt like a mix of passionate football supporters and an old time religion revivalist gathering. Bruce greeted them in Spanish and Catalan and they went wild even before a note was played. This one brought the house down. You could feel the drums in your chest. Unforgettable
Clarence pulling the tenor off the table gives me shivers.

I was exactly 8 days old at the time this was recorded. Who thought that I came to CZcams nearly 21 years later and found it one of the greatest live performances ever.
It is.. but close on its heels is ‘In the Flesh’ by Roger Waters.. 3 hours of brilliance.. give it a listen mate

this live dvd came out in 2003 i think,i bought a dvd player specifically just to watch this dvd.absolutely brilliant(after years of dodgy grainy bootleg vhs's with terrible sound) with all the rising stuff,RIP big man and danny🎷🎹🌹

My Born to Run vinyl had a scratch on it during this song and whenever I played it, it would repeat the lyrics "says you're never gonna leave her" would repeat over and over again but I just let it because even that one lyric was so amazing.

Ain't it the truth. They are one of life's grandest experiences. I've experienced 64, beginning with 3 on the 1978 Darkness tour, but the last one was in 2016. I'm in full-fledged Springsteen withdrawal; Post Bruce Depression. Bruce, please, PLEASE tour. We need you, and I'm pretty sure, you need us.

You're right, of course. It's the classic, distinctive, Bo Diddley rhythm, that's been used by many others, as well - most famously, IMO, by Buddy Holly on, "Don't Fade Away," which was subsequently covered by The Rolling Stones, among others. In 1978, on the Darkness on the Edge of Town tour, Bruce would play a tribute to Holly (and Diddley) by playing, "Not Fade Away," and then transitioning seamlessly into, "She's the One." And amazingly he was about 52 years old. I've seen him in 1980 and 2008 and will again in 2023 but this concert might have been his best ever and a lot of it is from the energy in the audience.
