    Just wanted to say thank you for this, I got sick of the auto high beam and did something to disable it years ago but couldn’t tell you what I did tbh. It always popped an error message the first time it tried to use it in Auto, but with the ability to add it to the main menu I was able to turn it off completely so now it doesn’t give me the error note every time! Much appreciated

    Great video. I just picked up a 2018 golf r as well, I'm at 640 miles and loving it. I'm going to order that obd11 now.

      The car impresses me more and more every day. Just last night I was on a spirited drive, took a long twisting highway off-ramp at 60-70 and felt the car suck me into the corner :). I ordered a spare tire for the car as i can't stand not having one, the proclip mount for my phone and next I need to figure out a way to tap into the power around the rearview mirror for my radar detector. The tint is this Saturday and I was thinking about ordering mudflaps for it. What are your thoughts on the oem mudflaps?

      Yeah I am in the middle of the Spare Tire Retrofit video, just waiting for one piece to arrive.
      The factory mud flaps are very well molded to body and look really nice.

      Awesome, I can't wait to see it. I spent $400 on the spare tire and all the extra little pieces. I should have delivery next week i hope. I got everything from ecstuning except for the spare that i got from eeuroparts.com. What about you?

      I saw the one on ECS, but they are backordered until mid august. Also, they have the wrong jack in the kit if the picture is correct. It does not fit in the toolbox correctly and not for R's which use a pinch weld jack. Plus the car already comes with the screwdriver, lug cover hook tool so those were not needed. I got all my jack & tools from shopdap.com. I got the toolbox from ECS, but the trim panel I ordered from e.acca.com from Europe because ECS had the trim panel backordered. Waiting for that last piece. All the parts added up were 276.00 plus shipping. I e-mailed ECS to confirm the kit was for a MK7.5, but they replied they could not confirm and someone had returned one saying it did not fit. So its hard to know. If the jack you get is like one in pic, its the wrong one. Let us know what it actually comes with.

    Great video BUT can you just type what you are searching for into the search section for Adaptations ... saves a lot of time for some things... Also just need to click on security code shown and no need to type it in... unless there are not shown.

    What is 'convenience indicating' in your CAR menu at 10:05 minutes? Is that signal lights settings (3 to 5)

    Do you know how you can change activate/deactivate speeds from 40km to 20 km and to turn down sensitivity?

    Wait you coded this but didn’t code out all those annoying chimes? You’re too funny man! Great video nonetheless.

      It might be a customers car. That was the very first thing I did. I couldn’t deal with that seat belt noise

    During this video I noticed the yellow check engine light stayed on after the other lights went off during start up. I've seen this light on in other videos. Do you know why the check engine light would stay on?

    • @seanstraindepot
      @seanstraindepot  Před 6 lety

      Yup that is normal. If you have the Ignition turned on but do not have the engine running the Check Engine Light stays on. As soon as you start the car it shuts off (of course unless something is wrong).

    • @seanstraindepot
      @seanstraindepot  Před 6 lety

      This is normal for most cars by the way. My BMW does same thing.

    Is the High Beam something you need to check for or is it default on every golf R ?

    • @seanstraindepot
      @seanstraindepot  Před 6 lety

      The High Beam Assistant (Auto High Beams) is on every 2018 Golf R. I don't know about all the previous years but I do remember on 2017 it was also listed as a standard option.

    • @MelodicMurder
      @MelodicMurder Před 6 lety

      I think its default on the 2018 golf r. Mine has it
