Biggest difference was to add with OBDeleven the active lane keep. Before I did that it would ping pong left and right. After coding it well maintain inside the lane.

on my R it helped to switch the modes of the acc and lane asisst. idk what its called but its something like "lane assist" and "advanced lane assist" swaped it to advanced and my car didnt bounce left right any more.

I just bought a Kia Forte with ACC LDA and FCA and it will literally drive itself even though it technically doesn't have that feature. Freaked me out when I discovered it would do it

I did the sensitivity trick with OBDeleven, and I have to say it’s one of the best things I’ve done to my car!

By default it doesn’t keep you centred in the lane. As soon as I did sensitive, it’s basically autonomous driving

@@jamesgiannoukakis4366 i did the same thing but now the car ask me to put my hands on the steering wheel, but i have my hands on the steering wheel.

I have these in my GTI, I find the lane keep to be not great (bounces from line to line and too many "false positives") so I keep it off unless I'm on a long freeway trip. Adaptive cruise I love and use all the time.

Even feel my gti clubsport is half a tesla just because it have ACC & can turn of the cylinders to go completely silent (useful downhill) at times, but nothing i use to often as dont wanna wear em out. Acually disabled the start/stop with OBD Eleven coz of this. Missing that lane assist here though, but if your saying its abit flaky so far maby it dosent matter.

I just bought a golf R I love the adaptive cruise but the lane keep yanks the car around and I don’t like that especially that my Canadian winter is coming up definitely turning it off.

My dreams are crushed ! After much consideration I decided to keep my current car , 07 lexus is350 and not get a vw gold R at this time. Going to fix up the lexus a bit and do some maintenance and I think for now it'll be the smarter choice. Who knows maybe in a few years I'll pick up a mk8 !

I noticed mine doesn't pick up trucks pulling a trailer until I'm a bit too close, I just keep an eye on the dashboard, if I can see it picks up the car in front I'm good

Check out the Comma 2 from Comma ai. It’s plug and play for your R. Hands free level 2 autopilot for hours. It will brake and go without any input from the driver. Perfect for traffic jams and excellent for long trips.
