  • #PostalPleasures Presents: What are my stamps worth? - An Introduction To Stampworld.com A Free Online Stamp Price Catalog
This video targets those who may be newer to stamps, whether you wish to start a stamp collection or just want to find the price of some stamps you found or inherited, this guide will get you started on the right path.
Experienced philatelist's may learn a few tricks as well. in particular we explore some methods of searching the Stampworld.com catalog by Denomination, Date, and even Topic to them identify stamps which have been hard to locate in traditional stamp catalogs such as Scott, Michel, Stanley Gibbons, Etc.
    Other Good Resources are:
    colnect.com/en/stamps - for worldwide stamps
www.theswedishtiger.com/us-st... - for United States Stamps
Just a word of warning about getting one's hopes up. There are lots of click bait sites and videos out there which list "10 ten most expensive stamps" or "Million dollar stamps to search for", or something similar. often those are one of a kind stamps or otherwise very rare varieties. sometimes those rare stamps look almost exactly like another very common stamp to the point only experts can tell the difference.
    Note:
I am aware the select box options in the filter menu I did not show up in the video for some reason I will figure out why and correct if possible in future videos.

Thanks for taking us through this wonderful website! I see a few things that I might not have noticed just putzing around on my own. Regarding numbers from the official catalogues... I don't know about Michel, Yvert & Teller, etc, but Scott is VERY protective of theirs! About 20 years ago they sent a cease and desist warning to someone who was using Scott catalogue numbers on album pages he sold. He had no idea this would happen, so he had to remove the numbers from everything.

I would love to see a video on printing types. For instance I had stamps from Rhodesia starting with #223 that are photo and #223A that are Litho that I cannot tell the difference. I also have Manchucko #83-100 which are engraved but 158-63 are litho same problem.

I would love to make a video on this topic, but I don't yet think I am an expert in the area. I am still learning myself. I can now sort out the west German castle Definitives, most o the time, but only after a refresher study each time. I agree though this is a great topic just not one I feel I am ready to do any justice.

Ecc.
