  • #PostalPleasures Presents: More Postal Covers, Postcards, & Stamps From Viewer Alan Whitty - Part 2 (Early US Flag Cancels)
Please join me for the second half of a generous parcel of interesting philatelic material from my friend & fellow philatelist Alan Witty.
This collection of stamped covers and cards is so large I ended up splitting it into two parts and will likely do an additional deeper dive into the German Overprint Stamps from China, Morocco and Danzig. I will post those links here when available.

Just a few days ago, I was lucky enough to find in my shoebox of old postcards, a business card from the Tangier branch of the Deutsche Orientbank, with a 5 cent "Marokko" overprint stamp on it posted from Tangier on December 8th, 1911. It is an invitation to a reception. The bank existed from 1906 to 1946, but the Tangier branch apparently was sold to a French bank in 1913. Fascinating on what history you can find out from old cards and covers.

I'm glad you enjoyed the cards and stamps. I saw some stamps in episode 6 of German stamps I don't have. I'll send you an email. Alan
