I was an f18 tech and inspector in the marine corps, and also worked as a contractor doing just phase inspections on f18s. The phase inspections are no joke and we stripped the jets down to the bones inspecting every single inch of the aircraft. Seeing a bit of the helicopter phase inspection was super enjoyable! Thank you!
Very cool
Helo phases are very similar to fixed wing except I don't believe you guys pull the wing boxes. I only did two phases with my unit but they really are great for learning everything about your airframe for new maintainers since everything is being pulled.
@@GoldPicard 🤣 You don't pull a "wing box" on a fixed with aircraft unless it's undergoing DEPOT level rework.
Semper Fi Devil!!
@@Zakk900a fortune… but what is life is not enjoying one self. If I had a means, would,I?,,hell yeah.
Those angles from the 360 on the nose looking backwards and the one from the clamp mount on the tail looking forward were amazing!

As an active duty MH60S mechanic I feel like I can appreciate these videos so much more bc it's so cool to see how the aircraft I work on soars the skies and to just see how beautiful it really is from different angles and POVs
Awesome man I envy your job!
I have serviced and flown upon many different airframes but the military rotorcraft never fail to impress. The redundancy is like 4 even 5 levels deep. Awesome.
DA is bad, gonna need you in early monday morning, shootin for fcf after lunch
As a part 107 drone pilot, I LOVED seeing the brief interaction between the pilots making sure both knew where the other was. And I've encountered some minor stress flying drones, but can understand his stress flying these shots to some degree. Fantastic job!
That drone pilot has some serious skills. Holy crap!! In order to get true visual appeal you need to instinctively know the possibility, pace, and flow of basically every angle when you’re filming an object on the move in the air like that. He has that instinct. Very obvious. Keep that dude as a resource for sure. Nice work and one KILLER helicopter. Legendary. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
yeah i kinda wanna know who it is he is so good at his shit.
That Blackhawk looks awesome at every angle!
For real
As a photographer, that truly is some amazing footage. You did not disappoint
These videos cure my depression I’m so happy there’s good people on this earth
Every time I've seen a blackhawk in person, that bird was there to save a life... and every life that I saw them come to rescue was saved.. My hats are off to the amazing folks at the Whidbey Island Naval Station Search and Rescue, who answer the call from local agencies when they are the last resort. Cheers everyone. Thanks for these beautiful shots of this amazing bird.
Every time I've seen a blackhawk in person, that bird was there to take a life....
Every time I seen one it was on a movie….
The production quality of this is insane, well done guys!
I just wanted to say the same...for the production quality to surpass the content, which in itself is impeccable..I am so happy to see this balance and follow this story..hard work and dreams fulfilled.. ONWARD & UPWARD!
It's crazy, isn't it? Those shots look like something out of a blockbuster movie.
Ditto!!
That GP 360 shot of the noise while banking gave me goosebumps, never seen live footage like that of a helicopter.
As a U.S. Army UH-60 Blackhawk flight crew chief I've got to say the videography was awesome! Great job! Its so cool you was able to get this far with this bird registering it, everything!
I've been involved in alot of slingload ops during my Army career, it wasn't until watching this video that I fully appreciated the maintenance that goes into keeping the blackhawk flying. Having 15,000 lbs hovering 12 inches over your head, the shit gotta proform without hesitation.
That last statement.... No one can truly explain what to expect on your first sling load hook. But I loved it.
Try that at sea hahahaha. Pitching decks and swinging loads. Add to that the cargo capacity of a CH53 that also produces 80 knots of downdraft under full stick.
@@mdeamicis I refueled a few 53's at a FARP they are a beast.
The Blackhawk is an amazing piece of machinery. Sparks you truly are a fortunate man, to be able to be able to work hard, have fun and be helpful to people.
As a film maker, an editor, and a friend i loved this video! The process to the shot is the story! Thanks for telling it!
The footage from the noise-mounted 360 is fantastic. More, more, more! 🙏
You promised breathtaking shots - and YOU DIDN'T DISSAPOINT!! Great job in preparing all of the cameras and bringing all these people in, but also great storytelling / editing!
I wasn’t prepared for the quality of Blackhawk footage he was about to slap CZcams with.
One "S" and two "Ps" will get 'er done.
Nice of you to show up & supply the Black Hawk Dave, but seriously your camera men did you proud that day. There's some seriously sick footage right there, great job. I'm voting to give your camera/video guys a good pay rise. Amazing video, so thank you Dave & crew. Happy flying & respect from the UK ❤
Dave is dealing with some major amounts of stress. The man has serious heart issues.
@@galacticmastery3380 that's what comes from having a huge heart ;-)
@@Tazz-Media that’s sarcasm you don’t do anything for others. Let’s see it instead of buying materialistic things and showing it to world of CZcams. do something for others in loving caring understanding instead of projecting your ego and your image it’s pathetic you have no courage to change towards love. It’s a difficult thing for men that suffer from lots of PTSD all they have anger and hate their soul. you can’t find your heart because you sheltered it with selfish suffering image toys
You can never give up your image toys for the love of others. You can never do it you’re too afraid you suckered into suffering couldn’t even understand it or even untangle the hate from your heart.
Most men are suffered into a image competition narcissistic mindset these days they will never change because they have no balls to they love their PTSD
I love the helo footage! I used to run Bell 206 and 204 spray crews for forestry work, so I love to see people using rotary for new and innovative ways. Keep up the good work!
That is definitely a beautiful piece of machinery, and you can tell you are proud as heck of it. I think the front 360 camera looking back at the cockpit was the best, but the tail rotor camera was pretty awesome as well. Look forward to seeing more footage like that in your videos.
That front 360 camera view was astonishing. When the Black Hawk banked into the turn and the shot was still straight. Can't wait for some more of those views
Coming from a young man growing up in this crazy world it's great having people like y'all to look towards for inspiration going forward in my own life.
Well said!!
Such an amazing shot of the helicopter. So peaceful to watch.
This is probably the best content on this platform right now. The shots were just fantastic
Love that you are in a hawk! I had 5 years wiggling the H60 sticks and I miss it everyday! Some nice camera angles in the video. You may not ever read this comment, but I just saw the clip at 14:25 and I saw someone run out from under the rotor disk at a 45 from the nose. Dude- just remind your people how dangerous that is due to the forward tilt of the rotor disk. Make sure everyone is coming in and exiting on a 90 degree path to the cabin doors. During one of our Army trainings, I saw a safety video of a Navy Lt who walked out from under the rotor disk at the same angle and he literally lost his head. Safety always! I'd hate for anyone to get hurt/killed by this amazing bird!
I can't agree anymore!!!
I'm not much of a vehicle guy myself, but the passion and excitement throughout this BlackHawk journey is always a treat to watch, and I can't wait for the next episode
Amazing! Spent 8 years working on Pavehawks and did some helicopter training out in Utah! You guys are living my dream! Thanks for showcasing what is possible!
Love the Blackhawk! My personal history goes back to '79 at Ft Campbell, KY. My unit was changing over from UH-1H to the UH-60 then. My company was the 2d one to get them. I think the ratio was to trade in 22 UH-1's for 15 UH-60's. The Blackhawk was a very impressive move up in load, speed, and range from the UH-1. It was full of "crash worthy" features. I would take exception with one remark you made to airspeed. If you find yourself doing 200mph in the 'hawk, don't make ANY sudden move on the cyclic. A low-level showoff was doing about that pace in Landstuhl, Germany many years ago and turned his bird into a very messy plow. A phenomenon called "retreating blade stall" took control from the pilot and inverted the bird. I think the practical Vmax is now around 180 mph. I may be off on the figures, but 222 mph is the Vne (Velocity NEVER exceed) noted in Wikipedia. Getting over 200 is risky business. I'm still a major fan of the old Huey. They still train in them here at Ft. Novosel, AL
That was amazing! What a wonderful craft. I thank you for allowing us to be part of . I am excited that it is part of your arsenal and watching you, means you will have many acts of kindness! Please be safe and I look forward to your travels.👍😁
The footage you are getting with this Blackhawk is amazing. You just put any movie studio to shame and I love it. Keep it coming!!!
As A former inspector for Sikorsky (maker of the Blackhawk) for over 30 years, I really enjoy the videos of your Blackhawk. I retired from Sikorsky in 2018 and now Live in North Carolina. I see them flying around quite often for I live near Fort Bragg .( soon to be renamed to Fort Liberty )
curious, do u still spend hobby time with / around helicopters?
LOVE this series. The views and flight footage are beautiful! Stay safe!
😊 thank-you for everything and always teaching us ❤️ new things. Please stay safe. May God Bless 🙌 🙏 all of you
One of the most creative and capable pilots out there I can't wait to see what y'all come up with! These shots were amazing showing off some of the angles and views you can get in a Blackhawk. Thanx for sharing with all of us and fly safe guys!!
As an Aviation Nut I've been waiting for this video for a while.........and it did not disappoint. The footage of the Blackhawk was unbelievable, it was like watching a Promo video with a big budget. Amazing flying and gorgeous helicopter Dave..... Keep em coming 🚁
I did a 6 month detachment to Naval Air Station Norfolk when I was in the USN and they had a maintenance hangar that was mind blowing. Seeing an F-14 Tomcat stripped down to the frame is something you don't see often. And of course, the only helicopter I have ever been on, the Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King. This was our primary ASW/SAR and lifter when I was on the USS Theodore Roosevelt. I was on the Forward Away Team which we sent ahead of a port-of-call to get the fleet landing set up with the local governments, whoever it may be. We would throw our seabag into the Sea King and it would take us wherever we were heading. I remember sitting on a canvas fold out seat squished between the sonarbuoy dispenser and the radio for hours with no view of the outside. Very disconcerting. Also very exciting for a 19 year old punk just out of high school learning how the world works. Would not trade one minute of those "miserable" conditions. Made me appreciate the comforts of life even more
That was so beautiful I almost shed a tear to see a black hawk just being used as fun and not in war
Watching these videos on the Blackhawk is always a treat, and then thinking about what you guys do and how much you've helped over the years during national emergencies like the floods in Gulf areas, this would be an amazing tool to have, but I'm sure there's limitations on using it during those times for those reasons.
Hi ! Fantastic footage !!! I am a vet that has a special request … I am sure you have many requests … but this one is special … I have a friend of mine that I went through basic training with back in 1986 … he is a decorated war veteran of the rank of command sergeant major …. He will have served 30+ years on the day of his retirement.. he is based out of Aberdeen MD and his last wish is to be brought from his place of duty in Aberdeen to his house in York Pa by a black hawk … I know it is a really big request .. or wish .. but he has given many years , blood sweat and tears for this country. Would y’all be interested in making this flight for a retiring Command Sergeant Major If logistically possible ?
Thank you for what you are doing. I am a retired 28-year 60 crew chief and mechanic, and this is outstanding and brings back great memories. God bless and thank you.
Love what the camera mounts can do. The angles, the views, the clarity were breathtaking.
As a fellow pilot the shot from the drone are really cool dude!!!!! You are blessed to have all the toys we see and we are blessed to see you guys using them!
As a fellow Helicopter Pilot that is some beautiful shots thank you for taking the time to do that.
Amazing views and images. As a retired 60 driver it’s great to see you enjoy a great aircraft. That nose plate mount is interesting. That vent is useful for avionics cooling in warm wx, so keep that as a consideration. Great work!
Outstanding footage and shots I've certainly never seen from those angles. I absolutely love helicopters, keep safe guys.
I love how transparent you guys are with everything . Like letting us know the plans and goals on each and every episode.! Nice to see the black hawk stretching the wings
I'm retired Army, flew many times in the back. I've watched you fighting the other helos and you seem really big in them, this H60 make you look small in the seat. You're bringing back good memories, thanks.
I'm thoroughly enjoying learning all the ins and outs of flight worthiness, certifications, regulations, and experimental craft especially!
The videography here is level 9000. Excellent work 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Using this test time to practice coordinated operations with the drone pilot is brilliant. Look forward to seeing what you do with this.
A M A Z I N G ! That from 360° nose camera was simply amazing. Almost looked like animation because it was so perfect. And the drone work was gorgeous.
thank you for creating great content and being well in touch with all your fans
You guys are living the American dream, started up businesses and making money and using to to bring up your family and friends and thankfully sharing all of this awesomeness with us your loyal YT viewers! Thanks Bros!
Love how the 360 mount footage is fixed with the horizon, looks insane! Awesome content!
That view from the tail rotor and 360 are great. And that drone pilot also had some great shots. Visual feast.
In theory this is such a simple video, but has got to be one of my favorites so far, Great work guys!
Beautiful beast of a bird‼️ Your photo angles didn't disappoint & the drone footage is the bomb ‼️
360 footage is the bomb. I would be so amped just get a day of stills, but afraid I’d just get blown away by the pace. These guys are always moving. 👍
Insanely awesome man..its unbelievable the life you live, thanks for letting us live it through you.
This footage is absolutely incredible! Super excited to see what’s next and what all you do with the Blackhawk. One of my absolutely favorite helos ever…..thank you for sharing this journey with us!!!!
I love how as time passes, you get to see people live out their dreams, very inspirational.
Production is on another level and the drone shots on the back of this machine is crazy impressive
I was a engines tech in the Rhodesian Air force many, many years ago. Reminds me of all the intensive work we used to carry out on Hawker Hunters, De Haviland Vampires, DC3's and Aerospatiale Alouette's we had back in those days. Fantastic videos...wish we had a few of those BlackHawks to support the many cross-border raids we carried out back then!
As a combat veteran that has flown in a Blackhawks. The regulations, the inspection. The whole process I'm intrigued. Didn't think it was as full in depth. I love flying in airplanes and helicopter. Also scared of heights. Seeing what it takes make me feel alot better lmao next time you're in the north port, englewood, Port Charlotte fl area. Let me know would love to take yall out fishing. Depending on amount of people I'll be able to work something out.
I'm not even into helicopters but this gave me goosebumps. Watched the whole thing and i loved it.
I’m almost speechless. Really thrilling to watch. I can’t imagine what it must feel like to fly.
The Blackhawk is awesome. I look forward to your training videos. Thank you for taking us along.
Those were super incredible shots, both from the black hawk and from the drone as well. Great communication between the helicopter and drone pilots to be able to fly that close to one another and safely get those awesome shots!
Incredible cinematography boys! That was great. The drone shots were awesome and the 360 camera on the nose was amazing. 👍👍👍
Man I dig the aviation stuff, Ive always be a fan of your builds, and recovery vids. However your helicopter content has sparked an interest for me, recently got into R/C Helicopters and love it. The learning curve is rewarding!
Wow! I have to say, it sure is sharp looking.... I was military wife.... and many hours of gazing at them awesome helicopters... I love them still to this day.... Way before then actually going and watching the crop dusters coming in and out of the fields... to handing my uncle his tools while he worked on his Biplanes. (That was so long ago that airport had only dirt air strips,,, Today it is an municipal airport!) Amazing... Thanks for sharing...
Pretty dang awesome - thank you very much for sharing!
Hope all is well with you and your families!
I was a Blackhawk Crew chief a long time ago. Phases are insane. Weight and balances everything has to be within specific limitations. Amazing Machine. I keep watching to see your progress! Good luck man!
Yeah he didn't even mention how the track& balance of his blades went.
2800 Crewing hours and 10 years working on these beast, I was thinking the SAME thing. Parts prices alone are crippling ($150 windshield wiper cap screws out of plastic).
Not to mention the tip caps alone are like 10 grand a pop.
Not certain, but I believe you are elevating BLACKHAWK videos to a level never before seen!!!
EXTRAORDINARY!
Thank you for using my song Wildfire! This video is awesome 💥
Love the fact that you have a drone pilot too! Hell Yeah for the Blackhawk and keep showing it off because its one of the best things to brag about! Keep up the great work and thank you for the great video on the blackhawk.
Seeing those front 360 shots somehow brings back Airwolf memories. Amazing shots and work on the Black Hawk!
I loved watching air wolf.
The Blackhawk would have come in handy for that plane crash/recovery a couple months ago..
She's a beast..
Retired Army guy here with over 3,500 hours in the Blackhawk. Super cool to see this.
Great video. My dad took his license in L.A. in 1979. It was cheaper for him to take it there back then. He is still flying at age (soon) 73. I showed him your first Black Hawk video and he was really impressed. I sent him this one as well. Keep'em coming, very much appreciated.
This content is unreal ! I don't know where you get the $$$ to do all this fun stuff BUT, so happy your sharing all these incredible life experiences with us, what an amazing youtube channel you have HeavyD, cheers from the great white north.
Lottery
The financing part is my biggest curiosity.. I’ve always dreamt of being able to fly leisurely / privately with my Dad (CW5). I’d sincerely love to gain an understanding on how this is possible from a finance perspective. Any insight?
I'm happy for him, I hope he's got some contracts lined out to help pay for it.
This made me miss flying with my dad so much. Been a long time and damn that brought back some good memories.
that’s a dream. I’m glad u got to experience that! Always wanted to fly with my Dad.
Congrats man. Thats life friggin goals acheieved and level up!!
..the 360 camera shot was just magical. No other words for that...
..and cudos for the drone pilot for getting so close to the blades...
Awesome man. Thanks for the videos.
I was in the Army for 8 years, serving as a parachute rigger. The first live parachute I packed, I jumped out of a uh60. Lots of memories
Don’t say “screwed on”……. Screws aren’t allowed on helicopters. They’re bolts. And I hope you had them safety wired (which I don’t see 🤦♂️). There’s a reason we don’t let just anybody work on helicopters.
I love this channel! Everything from adrenaline to tears you guys are awesome! The 360 shot was Incredible!
So interesting, the Blackhawk is a complex machine. I love the Tec even though I don't fully understand how it stays up , I'm in Awe.
The drone footage, wow.
Thanks Dave and team
I haven’t flown in a Blackhawk since I left the Army. They are amazing aircraft. Brought back some memories, most of them are good memories. I’m 52 now and at one time I wanted to fly helicopters but it never came to pass. The guys from 160th are the best pilots in the world and could make the Blackhawk do things it probably shouldn’t have. God Bless
Dang you guys are such an inspiration to me!! I hope to find something that I can be extremely passionate about one day. If I could take that passion and experience a fraction of your success, it would be a life well lived. Congratulations
Outstanding, very impressive for this old veteran , keep it coming big D , can't wait too see what's next.
I love general Aviation and you are providing a great contribution to it, sir. If you ever need heavy structure work or light sheet metal work, I’m happy to assist just to see that thing in person. I’ve got 13 years in Aviation and work as a heavy structures tech for Gulfstream. I have my A&P and that pilot’s license is definitely the next goal for me.
Brilliant footage and drone interaction. Really enjoyed this.
Pretty cool, Dave, loved It. Lots of great personal memories, and a few really horrific injuries. Left me with a lot of lifelong great tales and long lasting scars to prove it. Again, thanks for the videos. I do enjoy your sharing interesting various adventures, I am particularly ready or a lot more Blackhawk radios! Aloha from Maui.
THAT SHOT WITH THE 360 ON THE NOSE WAS SOOOO COOL!
That 360 Nose cam is awesome!!👍 Excellent work guys. Looking forward to more Black Hawk action.
That was amazing kept me glued to the screen the whole time
Love ya Blackhawk and love that footage and camera angles...AWESOME
This video highlights the Blackhawk in ways I didn't know I wanted to see... very cool guys! Keep it up!!!
You and Your Team are amazing. Great shots, extremely impressive! All of your pieces are amazing. Common sense and well rounded attitudes. None of your shots would be worth a crap without the carrying demeanor that springs forth. I've been in Hollywood productions for 45+ years and you all "got it!" (And "get it!")
