If the Oilers do end up winning it all, their run has to go down as one of the best in NHL history:
- Horrible start to the season, fired their coach
- 16-game winning streak
- Came back down 3-2 to the Canucks
- Came back down 2-1 to the Stars
- Would come back down 3-0 to the Panthers in the final
- End Canada’s Stanley Cup drought
- McDavid breaks Gretzky’s assist record in the process
Even if they don't win, it was the best coaching change in history. They turned around the season overnight and never looked back. Had two 8 game winning streaks, plus a 16 game winning streak. Would be great to end the year on a four game winning streak to take the cup.

Very apt. The stresssssssss level is insane. My method is to NOT watch the games but to PVR them and periodically check the score on my phone. I will watch the games after it's over ..... or not, depending on results.

Being in the building was absolutely insane. I'm still partially deaf. But even IF the leafs got this far, the fans just aren't the same and the building would not be as loud. Being in Edmonton at this point is something that you actually need to experience in person to truly understand the magnitude of what this series has meant to fans here.

Last time a Canadian team won the Stanley cup was 1993 by the Montreal Canadians, the year I was born. Hope the oilers can finally bring Stanley back to Canada. Would be absolutely amazing.

This has been the most incredible Stanley Cup Finals I've ever watched, and it's not over yet! I remember going to games in the 80s during the Oilers' dynasty. I remember sitting right behind the Oilers bench at Northlands Coliseum with my view blocked by Glen Sather, so close to Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, and Coffey. I thought that was the highlight of my Oilers watching experience. No, nothing beats what we're witnessing right now. This season has been nothing but incredible. The playoffs have been incredible. And the Finals have been the most incredible comeback I have ever seen. I can't wait for Monday.

As a Panther fan who has seen and been around for all the good and all the bad, and worst, this isn't surprising to me. This feels like the most Panther thing to happen and if you think us being crapped on for attendance or having no fans or being told our team is gonna be relocated to Canada...this is just topping on a crap cake. If this was more of a back and fourth series, honestly it would be enjoyable, fun to witness etc. The fact it is what it has been so far just makes it hurt more. But cool. Few days of folks saying Oilers are winning it, how Florida sucks, what a collapse. It's whatever honestly. Nothing but respect to Edmonton. Regardless how it ends, history is being made one way or another. People wanna say how bad it's been being a Panther fan, we are used to this. But we are passionate. We feel broken, but we are keeping our faith.

Dallas and Nashville are kind of the gold standard for new hockey markets and even they have had some issues. Edmonton fans felt the exact same way from game 1 to 3. One of the worst feelings ever. I was mentally ready to take a nice long break from hockey for a few months.
Panther fan as well for too many years to count and honestly it's either win a cup or good chance this team will have relocation talks again in few years. The mockery will be unbearable no other fanbase would ever understand. Luckily so few of us. But I don't think I could bring myself to watch hockey again at least for a long time. The Detroit red wings who were reverse swept by the Maple Leafs in 1942, won the Stanley cup the following year in 1943. They also won 8 more times since then. Hockey belongs in South Florida! The panthers unfortunately matched with a cup hungry, lunatic fan base team this year, with McDavid carrying all the pressure in the world to win the cup, for being quoted constantly as the “best player in the world.” Keep your chin up, from a Canadian hockey fan of hockey in all parts of the world.

I am 71 years old and seen the Leafs win four Cups. Then the Ballard curse came. This is background. In 2000 I was at a Sportchek and they had the Panthers hockey sweaters on sale for I think $14.99 so I bought and would use in pick up hockey. Since the I was given a Leaf sweater signed by Bower and when I retired I got a Leaf sweater with my name on the back. Since retiring we have moved and I packed the Leaf sweaters with the Panther sweater so they are cursed now just as the Leafs. How can we find new ways to lose a game. Just like the Leafs.

I'm from Vancouver and have been a hockey fan for over 40 years. It's been my observation in all this time, that Edmonton fans are solid. They love their team and continually give unconditional support, unlike the band wagon jumpers here. When their team is down, they get louder...that's what true hockey fans do.

If the Oilers lose game 7 it will hurt for them and the fans but they will still be able to hold their heads high and proud for what they accomplished, if they win it will be the most legendary win for a Stanley Cup in my lifetime. If the Panthers lose they won't have the same respect as the Oilers would, and if they win they will be elated to get their first ever cup. I hope for Steve he gets to see his Leafs get a cup in his lifetime but selfishly please not before my Habs get another one. I realize that's pretty selfish since I've been able to experience that when I was a kid, though only on TV. I've never been to an NHL game live. My dream would be to see Habs vs Oilers in a Stanley Cup final so I could see my team play in real life and get to witness McDavid IRL and hopefully see the Habs get the cup in 7. When I was a really little kid I did cheer for the Oilers during the Gretzky dynasty years and then a bit later became a Habs fan watching them with my aunt who was a Habs fan, so regardless of who won I'd still be a bit happy. It's always tougher on the home team when they're forced to a Game 7 after being 3-0 up. In 2011 and 2014, the Sharks were forced to Game 7 at home after being up 3-0, and you could feel the anxiety around them. They hung on to beat the Wings. But against the Kings, they wilted.

Edmontonian here! I was walking downtown when they scored that first goal. You could FEEL the vibration from the Mosspit at ground zero, then the cheering rippled out in waves, it was amazing. Driving down Whyte Ave for the post-game celebration was insane, everyone honking and cheering, it's impossible to imagine how much louder things can get if we win game 7! Whatever happens, we've had a historic run and I won't be forgetting it anytime soon 💙🧡
I'm old enough to remember each and every Oiler Cup. Last time we were in the finals, we lost Game Seven to the Hurricanes after coming back from 3-1 down. We had all the momentum, and yet we got stoned by Cam Ward and lost 3-1. I really hope this time works out differently!

istg when barkov scored that goal early in the third, I went straight to bet365 and put money on florida winning because if I had to witness my team blow a 3-0 lead to lose the cup at least i’d be getting paid for it.
I also live in fort mcmurray (4.5 hours away from edmonton) but the city was booming, flags and jerseys and sold out liquor stores, bbq’s and get-togethers for everyone, I was invited by 4 different groups of people to watch it and each wanted to go to a different bar. we are not edmonton but it feels like edmonton, orange and blue everywhere, mcdavid everywhere, my friends who once couldn’t care less about edmonton are screaming just as loud as I am… honestly it’s an experience i’ll never forget. Grateful for all this season has given me.

win or lose in game 7, i’m a proud oilers fan, every time it looks bad, the oilers comeback and make something out of it, i’ve never seen my hockey team be this resilient and it puts the widest grin on my face. I don’t think as an oiler fan being around other oiler fans, i’ll be able to forget any of this, and if we do somehow do the unthinkable and win, it may just be the last thing I think about when I die.

Yeah - Oilers fans watched that entire OHL playoffs run and memorial cup scouting Hall. We were amped to have Rico in Edmonton 100%. Dudes been clutch as balls his entire life.
Habs fan but I've always been cheering for the Oilers during the playoffs whenever the Habs don't make it. Hopefully Edmonton can break the Canadian curse, they're the most deserving team to do it.
Yeah many here Oil Country are the same, cheer for the Habs when the Oilers are out. It has a lot to do with interprovincial migration before the 80s. Lots from Quebec came to northern Alberta. The Oilers weren't an NHL team until 79.
For me, it's due to a lack of rivalry. I'll cheer for the Habs and Senators no problem. Ok with Leafs and Jets doing well. Cheer against Vancouver and Flames.

The loudest building I’ve ever been in was the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim for game six of the 2003 Stanley Cup Final. The Paul Kariya off the floor on the board goal. An amazing turn around from dead quiet to a deafening roar. One of the greatest moments in sports history.
