I saw you at the ticket office and was going to try and say hello but by the time I got my tickets you’d gone 🙁. Next time we saw you, you were front row on Icon recording a video with an arm mounted camera or something. I was having my first go on Icon, first of 5 that day, great coaster.

I can still remember this from 1997. It was delightfully scary, not because of height or speed but the woodiness, rickety feel with inexplicable snatches and lateral jerks. I loved the square wheels with no suspension, and the nostalgic feel of 1930s engineering generally. After that, the Big One felt disappointingly safe. Like going from a Tiger Moth to a 747 First Class. My spine is now fully recovered, my teeth have been replaced and the doctors say I should soon be able to walk ;-)

I’m almost 51 now so thinking that maybe a yearly day trip to the pleasure beach is needed.other coasters may have more speed and power but the grand national batters your body and throws you around like a rag doll making you feel like you got your moneys worth.(take the right side carriage when you go on the ride)

One of the most rickety rides I've ever been on before. I went on it this summer and I got in the back and I got flung upwards whenever it dropped. 1:43 is the worst drop on there. Going in the front of the ride slightly eases the shaking and pulling. But if you go at the back, say bye to your family. Vi

I'm 62 and went on this when I was about 12, having no clue what was about to happen (too naive). It was the only time I ever went on one.....I said never ever again, and stuck to that. My friend and I were also flung upwards whenever it dropped, and our heads bashed together. When we got off my legs were like jelly and I couldn't walk, and my head was pounding. I can't believe this old rickety thing is still going.
