Honestly I would love to see this, would be the perfect sleeper.
Could easily repaint it yourself, polish the headlights. Strip the interior, fit bucket seats and a cage. Some cheap eBay coils. Engine swap

Or lets crowd fund to have the car exported to Australia so he can fang it around at home, here in Australia you can import cars relatively easy if you owned and drove them around for 2 months overseas

Define cheap. About a grand for the engine alone. £3-400 for a gearbox, another £150 for an ecu. Finding a wiring loom and splicing it into the factory wiring. Then any labour costs on the jobs you can't do yourself. It would be cheaper to just buy a Type R

i once got questioned by police because i went in my grandad's garden while he was on holiday so imagine travelling to another city and driving off in a car with no sign of a hand over!

"worth 450, 500 quid" I'm incredibly jealous, a stick shift Honda in that condition in north carolina would be worth easily $2,000 on craigslist. What a deal. (even automatic 4 doors here go for $1500-$2000, the used old car market is ridiculous.)
Quirble it’s worth abit more than 500.. maybe 800 after all the bits are done.. the car paid for itself in the beer tools and car cleaning liquids aswell..

Well, most civics in Europe and Asia are manual ivtecs so they are pretty cheap because they are common while it seems to be a rarity in US as your statement shows.

@@MrCRAZEDKILLER101 Its different in the modern and civilized world. In Europe, title means owner of the car. Only the owner can insure the car and only the owner pays tax. UK has some special rules about all drivers needing to be insured to drive a car tho.
This means holder of the title = owner of the car. And it can only be transfered digitally, or with the title papers that the owner has sent into the equivilent of DMV. Here you are quite literally told to treat the title as an extremely important document and Never! take it with you.

I drive an older version of one of these on a Y plate. An Executive model. It still goes like the clappers and everything still works. Even the ice cold air con. The engine is nearly silent on tick over. These are wonderful cars.

as someone who's worked on civics like that it's always nice to see a familiar engine to you, the engine in there is the D16V1 4 cylinder with V-TEC making 108hp mated to a 5 speed manual with an open differential. the engine is super reliable, my dad's owned a Y reg civic since 2010, all we've done is done yearly oil changes and it's never thrown up a check engine light in its 10 years of being with us. i would hate to see this car go to waste and Lucas definitely deserves that K20 swap dream to be fullfilled. (making a series on it would be good as K20 swapping it would be able to help me if i ever K20 swap the civic we have.
Do the 1.4l civics have vtec?
@@jgoring7795 no sadly. The 1.4s had steel sumps and no V-TEC. The 1.6s had an aluminium sump and V-TEC on the intake cam only as the engine is a SOHC. (Hope this helped)

I have a 2005 executive 1.6 it's currently on 157k the engine still runs like a clock. The bodywork is a bit scruffy now and I had a fairly big bill for a gearbox rebuild last year due to the common input shaft bearing failure. Everyone told me to scrap it but I didn't want to give up on it.

What car are you driving? He said it was 150 miles so most likely 1/3 a tank.
300 mile round trip is only half a tank on motorway so will only be like £35 tops
