It's kinda novel that for once Blaine is the hardest gym leader in a kanto run
To be fair he's brain dead in red and blue, his frlg performance is very solid

@@cliffwarden5934 I guess no one has any NFE pokemon after him (except Lance's Dragonairs which can be somewhat competent) and most they can do is Intimidate, so you can beat him with a revived Omanyte immediately. He's definitely no Tate&Liza but he's not on Pryce level either. Definitely the seventh gym leader of all time

This is the closest (non-extensively-modded) possible run to a "Pokemon Fire Red with a sock puppet!" run
I'm still going to comment this one idea:
Hidden grotto only pokemon (b2/w2 of course)
- you can use the randomizer to change the starters to the ranch's pokemon ("earliest" or closest one)
- starters should be: sip sapper marill, rattled dunsparce or scrappy lillipup (all of them have hidden abilities)
- you love grinding anyway so why not :D

Charizard was doing tons of damage with Flamethrower/Fire Blast due to it being in 'Blaze' ability range, so it's a good practice to not go for a move that can deal goods of damage but not 1HKO since that will activate Blaze/Torrent/Overgrow and that mon will dish much damage in return, just go for a weaker move first (For example, shadow ball in this case) then go for the killing move next turn.
9:17 fun fact about gen 1 psywave most people dont know, despite the fact when an opponent uses the move it does between 1 damage and 1.5x the level of the pokemon, if you the player use the move it does between your level and 1.5 times your level making it a strictly better seismic toss. A lot of people avoid it because of the fact it should do less than your level often, but it just doesn't when you use it in Gen 1.
9:15 if she used Psywave and it crit with 8 damage, that means Psywave rolled 4 damage. Gen 1 moment indeed 😂

Next time Blaine gives you trouble don't forget that you can grab the Rain Dance TM east of Fuschia; most mons who can learn Rain Dance can learn Thunder too, so that's not only effective for cutting the damage of Blaine's team for the duration of Rain Dance, but you wouldn't have to worry about stuff like sand attack :)

I've been talking inspiration from you and playing through different games with different type teams, and I've been letting my friends pick which game and what type I can use in each run. I have to say, these are really hard, but very enjoyable. And, as someone who's put in over 1,000 hours into Dark Souls games, I love challenging myself.

These are legitimately entertaining, I learn new things every run. Though I will say, hearing you say "now that I think about it" with the fossils... I have to ask, since you mention recording it fresh so often, do you not get tired of saying it? Like, I know it's scripted and may be a running joke or something, but you know and we (every returning watcher) know(s) that you don't think of it just then.
I'm not here saying it's bad or to stop, it's mostly just because it's the exact same monotonous line every time.
I will still definitely continue to watch the runs, very fun and interesting to see the progression and challenges. Good luck!

Always love seeing runs where you use pokemon from a different region that your playing! Shuppets always been pretty cool to me along with banette, i dont think youve done a run with banette and would probably be pretty similar to this one but easier so maybe try it in a different game but would be so cool to see a banette run

Pokémon Challenge suggestion: You are free to go with the game of your choice, but the challenges is using only middle evolution stage pokémon. (For Exemple: If you pick Bulbasaur as your starter, you can only battle with Ivysaur.) You are not allowed to use pokémon who's has no evolution or only 1, it must be a pokémon with a 2 stage linear Evolution. So pokémon like Eevee or Tyrogue are not allowed, but pokémon like Oddish, Poliwag or Ralts are allowed.

I'm not sure if you ever talked about it, but is there a trainer characters in one of the games you HAVE to battle (not counting rivals and gym leaders, I mean these more or less faceless trainers) that you ever had trouble with? Basically, were you ever stuck on a non rival or gym battle?
When I do get stuck on random trainers, I show it in the video
I don't know if anyone else recommended this challenge or thought of it, but how about doing challenges where you use the Pokemon starters in a different region, for example you would use Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur In Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, while you use Torchic, Mudkip, and Treecko in Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green, you could also do the same with Gen Gen 4 that being Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver and Pokemon Platinum, although that's only if you ever start doing challenges for those games.

But, i have 3 ideas for runs:
First a Vulpix only run in gen 4. Platinum should work well, but i'm not sure about Heartgold/Soulsilver. I think that it has better coverage there, but it's overall harder, so why not taking a team of Vulpix there?
For an easy time: An Eeveelution run. All 7 possible you can get in Platinum. I think this one should be the most fun, and you need an easy time as well sometimes. This should do the trick i suppose.
And because you get him decently easy most of the time: can you beat Pokémon Crystal as Elite 4 Bruno? I actually have no clue how this turns out. It should be fine, but i don't know, if Falkner might be a challenge or if Morty is hell. Overall it should work out fine.
Then i have two questions:
Could you imagine going for runs like "Can i beat Pokémon Platinum as Gym Leader Blaine?". Like taking any generation and taking the Team of a certain Trainer from a previous. I'm not sure if it is possible because i'm not sure wether you get the teams or not.
Second as a general idea, if you hit a brick wall in team run, like can i beat the game as my rival, at least at the Elite 4, you could change up the moves from what is actually his/her team. Espacially in the early games the movesets were, let's say unique.

I have an idea for a fun challenge, One that means you could even use Drowzee. Can you beat Pokemon Black (Or any game from gen's 5 ,6 or 7) with only the move Assist? Purrloin learns Assist at level 6 so it'd be the starter, Then if you get a male Purrloin you can breed it with other's to get more Pokemon. I think this would be a great wacky challenge since the more Pokemon on your team the more random the move is.
For any that don't know Assist uses a random move known by any of the user's party Pokémon, With some exceptions. So even Pokemon that can't use Assist would still be useful if they have good moves that Assist can use. Drowzee is in the Human-Like Egg Group so If you want one with Assist you'd need a Spinda since they're in the Field and Human-Like Egg Groups so can breed with Purrloin and Drowzee. You could also use a Chimchar as a starter if you give it Assist as an Egg Move, They're also in the Field and Human-Like Egg Groups so a male one can breed the move into any Pokemon with Assist.

Since the Blaine problem was Fire Blast hitting I was thinking you could hold a Brightpowder and lower his accuracy. BUUUUT turns out you can't get it in FRLG outside of trading, so that option is moot (alas, b/c that's a good item).
I don't know what held item, if any, you had on Shuppet but, when you had Thief you could have farmed Haunters for a Spell Tag to give a boost to your ghost moves. Dunno how much it would have helped but it might have helped get past Blaine faster?
7:47 - Sounds like Squirtle might be the pick for most Pokemon reliant on their ATK stat if you want the most challenge in FireRed/LeafGreen runs since the Rival will have both Arcanine *AND* Gyarados.
11:10 - ...Though, apparently, that doesn't mean the Rival will necessarily *USE* them when it would be most tactically advantageous...

If you ever wanna do a weird run, try using moves with only 60 BP and lower. Can restrict the team if you feel like it. The ability technician should be banned otherwise its too easy.
Oh and you should totally be allowed to add Heart scales to your inventory to re-learn moves

I know this sounds weird but I would love a Pokemon challenge where the limitation isn't the Pokemon more so the conditions of the challenge like maybe Pokemon but you can only use non 100% accurate moves or something
