A wood vice most of us can afford to make. Functional, practical, and low cost.. Brilliant..
I've had the chance to use this table a couple of times now. It's fun to whip out in front of people:) I can see what people are talking about when they say the legs are delicate, but they're design to support a "mostly" vertical load, not be torqued from the side or pushed back into place. If you just let the table open or close on it's own and don't force anything, it works great czcams.com/users/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh Once it's set up, it's pretty solid. My only gripe would probably be related to the clamps provided. They're not the highest quality. They do the job, so no big deal, but they could be better. All in all, pretty cool gadget.
Too nice to work on that! What a great job! Keep them coming!
A ieșit foarte bine 👌 Îmi place cum este gândită ✌️
Very COOL! I learned a lot! Thanks for sharing. :)
Great looking vise. Nice job!
Thanks
For cheap material and limited space. You did a nice job. Sure it is a light duty vice but you can use it to make a nicer one easy. I am sure your next one is/or will be real nice.
I don't think I will make a new one soon because I'm satisfied with the one I already made. But sure, next one will be a lot better 👍
Thank you for the comment 🙏
lmao what a dick comment 😐
Good job!
Very clever 😊
Nice.. thanks for sharing.
Excellent work
Thank you for your comment 😊
Gostei muito obrigado meu amigo
spor la treaba
Nu.i bai că.i mai lung ...
Direct like 👍 O duminică faină!
Great work
Thx 😊
Very cool project! I'll have to try it someday.
Go for it
@@DanielH Where'd you get your parts?
Tebrikler. Başarılı bir iş.
I don't understand how at 10:44 turning the handle pulls open the vice. What is pulling the outer jaw out as you turn? Why isn't the rod just coming out by itself? How is it pulling the wood with it?
foarte misto
Și util
Mergi înainte bravo
Nice work, what type of lazer engraver do you use?
Today I have a 40w co2 laser. In this video I used the cheapest 2.5w laser from aliexpress. I sold it meanwhile.
Excellent job.... the only thing I would suggest is place two spacers or washers to separate the steel T and wood..
Already did that. After some time using it, it started to eat the plywood.
@@DanielH ok..
Not really sure what us happening, instructions are really vital for this to be useful but I hope it looks like it should works good.
It works great my friend
Good work with the sped up video, I like how you slowed it down to normal speed to casually go about hand planing your work.
Watch this in fast motion and see what you can get out of it
Make a washer between the T-piece and the jaw, it's better by pressure.
Already did that
Hey Daniel, loved your video. ?? Question ?? What did you use to burn your logo onto the vice?
Hello there and thank you for watching.
Back then I had the cheapest diode laser engraver available on AliExpress. Now I have a big co2 laser cutter and engraver and some small diode lasers. You can see them in my latest videos. 👍
@@DanielH Thanks for the fast response and for the info - I will check it out.
Nice work... However the thread must be painfully slow to operate. I think you have noticed this by now =)
Yep
At 11:50 you can see how the outer jaw of the vise distorts as soon as pressure is applied, rendering the vise basically useless if the jaws do not remain parallel. This vise would not apply sufficient pressure for anything other than very light work.
It's cheap
Haters gonna hate. This vice will grip a piece of wood very hard, and I'm certain will do the job needed. Daniel's putting a lot of force on that wood at the end of the video, it's not going anywhere. Are you chopping wood in your vice?
Thank you
What's that finish you applied on 11:04? Is that oil?
Linseed oil
Vise blocking door.
Great video. It would have been a little better had the speed been reduced.
Sorry for that
A little description would of been nice!
I know
Why did he use mustard?
To taste better. It's wood glue :-P
Formula 1 Sanding :D
Yep 🏁
I would like to have seen this at normal speed. Captionss are also helpful.
Sorry about that
I can not figure out what I’m doin wrong . Jaws don’t move like a vice should
What exactly it's happening?
Can you make the volume on the tools louder next time??
I will try
Lol
Thats where the joy of woodworking videos lies isnt it?
Does your phone have a volume button?
The entitlement lol
Dissimilar metals will corrode. it is called Galvanic corrosion. Steel and copper is not a good combination.
It works ok for what I need it. Still works wonderful 🙂
In this application? Balls
Fan vad det går undan..
Thanks
Why would you use a wooden handle? Tight, tight, tight, SNAP.
Easy to replace
the idea looks good but no measurements and no bloody sound wast of time
Should have used paste wax on the screw & pins. OIl dirty.
200 MPH,,god no!
ugh, as a metal fabricator, watching woodworkers work metal is maddening.
I know, right?
Seasickness.
Not good
That is one of the most annoying videos...can't see ever visiting this site again. Sorry advertisers.
Sorry my friend
Terrible video. You didn't talk the viewers through anything and everything is played back at an annoying 1.x speed.
There are other good creators on CZcams. Watch them instead.
@@DanielH don't worry I will
Will try to improve my future videos though.
@@DanielH The work was good. But he has a point. I find with alot of this fast motion videos, that they dont work well with DIY projects. As a lot of the detail as to why a specific piece was made in a specific way is lost in the haste of getting a lot of work time into a small video time.
@@craigbuchan316 I tend to agree but I played it at Half speed to understand more. It would have been nice to either hear or see text on the Materials being used.. example- I though at first he was coating the wood with varnish...until he used it on the Screw assy. Oil? UPDATE.. Just saw the same question asked .. Linseed Oil... Nice!
Sloppy work.
