The fact that Staying Alive and Another one bites the dust can both be used for CPR is just poetry come to live.
It depends on how optimistic you are about the situation.

Our guy from red cross told us, that also "Highway to hell" is working good rhythm-wise. Maybe not so wise to hum it along, if other people are around.
You know in Germany we have that song „Atemlos“ which also works fine. And that literally translates to „Breathless“
Highway to Hell can also be used funnily enough
The fact that 'Staying Alive', 'Never Gonna Give You Up', and 'Another One Bites The Dust' are good songs for CPR seems like it isn't a coincidence
Also du hast cause why not
High way to hell works also
Well, it's not really coincidence that the majority of human music has a beat somewhere in the same range as that of human hearts.
It's not, 100 to 120 bpm is probably the most common tempo in all of popular music because it's an easy tempo to dance at
Also the song CPR, which is not family friendly...
...but obviously, it works.
Further proof that listening to the Imperial March can make anything you do feel badass and awesome.

Making a mental note now that I can safely use any Sousa march as my CPR beat.
I'm imagining now CPR to the tune of Liberty Bell... (NO! NO! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO USE YOUR HANDS NOT YOUR FOOT!)
Thank you for this! I love Sousa marches!
"El Capitan" and "Hands Across the Sea" are 2 of my favorites. "Guadalcanal March" from _Victory at Sea_ is another.
Aw, I see you are a person of culture as well
I've heard just 110 BPM +/- 10 BPM as the bounds.
Examples: We Don't Talk About Bruno at 103 (same as Imperial March/Staying Alive) and Smooth (Santana) at 116.
Hope everyone doing good and staying safe. If you need to talk to someone or need help, there are people who care. Sending support and hearts. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤️
Imagine being revived only to find you’ve been rock rolled to life

If that happened I honestly wouldn't know if I was actually dead or not or if everything following was an illusion...
More like someone rick rolled the grim reaper with your life.
It's Rickrolled, not rock rolled.

Very helpful indeed. When giving a CPR to someone, you must never give him up, never let him down, and most definitely not run around and desert him.
And definately don`t make the family cry or say goodbye, For now.

Michael Jackson got inspiration from a CPR class for Smooth Criminal, Annie being the name of a dummy and “are you ok,” the phrase you use in CPR. At a BPM of 116, I say this is the perfect CPR song!
When taking the in-person test for my CPR certification, I used another part of that song to remember one of the things you do when you get there. Since emergency personnel are going to need space, you're going to have to clear the area. So I thought of that line towards the end: "Okay, I need everybody to clear the area right now!"
I am impressed by Jason's range of clothes, wigs and costuming supplies.
What about Those dance moves though 🤣

Songs for CPR:
“Staying Alive” - if you sing out loud during CPR
“Another One Bites The Dust” - sung in your head, not to be sung out loud!
How about "Another one rides the bus" by Weird Al?
Might not be the place for some light comedy, but then again, it might help raise the mood, I guess 🤷

If someone saved my life singing “Another One Bites The Dust,” I wouldn’t care, I would just be happy to be alive. Knowing my family’s love of dark humor, they would probably be singing along.

Memes aside, being revived while a stranger is telling you "Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down" is quite fitting.
it also has a really clear beat and catchy rhythm which makes it much easier to keep time with than some other options
And if they are singing “another one bites the dust” you might just wonder if you actually didn’t make it.

I was taught to use another one bites the dust in the scouts too.
The only problem with Another One Bites The Dust is the sheer irony that comes up if the person doesn't make it.

For the "never give you up" one, I just imagined Rick Astley actually doing CPR on someone and saving that someone from dying.

I was baffled when I saw First Order Stormtroopers standing near Darth Vader
The typical speed is 100-120 presses/minute, I've heard- just in case you didn't find one. Examples: "We Don't Talk About Bruno," which matches the first two (103/min), and (almost, surprisingly) "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence. That one's only at 95 bpm- a little low, I know, but someone else said that if you're panicked you might end up accidentally doing 10 extra compressions/minute- bringing it into the "550 ms with error tolerance of 50" range.

For those who might not know, CPR is best done with compressions matching the beat of songs around a 100bpm - 120bpm.
This includes Baby Shark, Misery by Maroon 5 and CPR by CupcakKe. Sadly Reese's Puff is around a 150bpm, so you'll be too tired if you do it.
Personally I'd pick songs with a very noticeable rhythm.
Did not need to have Baby Shark stuck in my head again but at least it's good to know something so easy to ingrain into one's mind could help in such a scenario.

I teach to 110 compressions per minute. Around 110 seems to be the sweet spot for most effective rate, and teaching 110 gives you a plus/minus 10 compressions per minute buffer to stay within the 100-120 range. The best song I found at 110 BPM is KC and the Sunshine Band's That's the Way (I Like It).
If someone is stressed or freaking out a little (i.e. not a professional responder), they're probably going to rush a bit, so that 100 BPM song is most likely going to come out at 110-120 BPM. Just something to consider.
Also in the end a song that the person knows well is going to be best because they will remember it in the heat of the moment of the songs in this list the only ones I think I'd reliably be able to do CPR to would be Stayin Alive or Another one Bites the Dust as I know the songs well and can feel that rhythm

One thing I wish my first aid instructors had said those times I took first aid classes is - practicing on the dummies feels absolutely nothing like doing it on a person. While I do realize that's obvious, when you never expect to need it and you suddenly do, shock takes over and I distinctly remember thinking, this feels nothing like what I learned.
The other thing of it too, as I can say for sure, is that when you had been through the same first aid classes/courses then you also begins to go into an "auto" mode where you just doing what you had learned and not thinking much of it. I still remember one of the classes, where I half assing it (As the instructor did told us a guide line what to do if we meet a person that needs CPR) but as soon I began on the chest compressions themselves, then I just went into what we had been taught. I even had one instructor saying that Im doing it at a good rate

@@limiv5272 Well I haven't done CPR on a person, tbh. I am probably not the best person to ask, but my guess is that a ribcage is harder to push through than the slightly stiff plastic in the dummies.

THIS is knowledge that can save lives.
They need to show this in high school health classes. If they had shown this, I would have aced the first aid section of that class.
this teaches literally one thing, how fast you should do compressions. literally nothing else is explained. its funny but not very informative
i watched this and then did the CPR Adult exam
15/15. Confirmed.
@@leosong829 It could help the information stick in your head better, though. And no one said this is a whole health class or first responder training in itself. It's less than a minute
@@reginabillotti the comment literally said that is this video was shown they would have aced the first aid section
explain to me how this does not imply it teaches the whole first aid section
@@leosong829 the video would have increased their interest in first aid causing them to pay more attention, and CPR is a pretty significant part of high school first aid education.
The AHA has now made compressions 100 to 120 per minute so he is correct. Now we have more songs to add to our CPR arsenal.
