My personal take on the "10 levels" format, but applied to sleight-of-hand. Enjoy!
NOTE:
This is NOT meant to be an instructional video on how to cheat at cards or on how to protect yourself from cheating. Don't watch this video and then try this stuff in a game or think you can’t be cheated. I make these videos for entertainment so that people can more deeply appreciate the craft and the art of sleight-of-hand. If you find this stuff interesting, go check out the work of people like Steve Forte, Jason England, Richard Turner, Darwin Ortiz, and Jason Ladanye. If you want to learn how to protect yourself at the card table, check out “Casino Game Protection,” “Poker Protection,” and “Gambling Protection Series” by Steve Forte and “Gambling Scams” by Darwin Ortiz.
CREDITS:
This performance draws inspiration and sequences from the following routines: various parts of Ricky Jay and his 52 Assistants, “The Ultimate Card Shark” in “Darwin Ortiz at the Card Table,” “Power Play” in “Game Changer” by Jason Ladanye, “Return of the Ultimate Card Shark” in “Down Under Deals” by Andrew Wimhurst, and “A Gambling Routine” in “Drawing Room Deceptions” by Guy Hollingworth.

I love that level 3 is controlling the entire deck. Has me thinking by level 7 he's going to be in my house showing me how to perform surgery with the cards. Amazing videos as always
had the same thought lmao
Sterilise. Always sterilise.
lmao yeah.
Just want to say that you inspired me about half a year ago to get into magic and I have been studiously practicing and honing my skills ever since. Despite this you still manage to baffle and impress me both with your tricks and your presentation. Thank you Daniel.
@NaterTheTat3r Just want to say that I'm inspired by your inspiration that you received from the very inspiring Daniel Roy... I now identify as a can of tuna. Thank you.
Level 11: Stacking cans of tuna
Where did you start learning card tricks?
I just cannot get over the second deal. It's so unbelievably clean that it just looks like you grab a card out of thin air
:)
For me it just looks like he glitches his hand through the first card and then pulls the other out
That center deal is legit just magic, amazing dedication to your craft sir
thank you!
Both versions of the 10 levels of Sleight of Hand are extremely impressive. I really like all of the methods that were used in both videos.
For what it’s worth, I stumbled across that video by pure accident and thought “okay yeah that looks interesting enough.”
Then I decided to try to learn some basic card handling and now I have a small bag of tricks to entertain my kids and my coworkers. All that to say, thank you for getting CZcams algorithmed to me.
His misdirections is literally so good, then when he looks up at the camera, I look at his gaze instead of his hands lmao and I know he GOT ME
Is there even any misdirection? The closest thing to it is the false dealing, but the rest (and even the false dealing) is just sheer control.
There's no misdirection, it's purely skill. You clearly don't understand anything at all.
@@XixyLeasor Misdirecting someone by gaze is misdirection. Even if it isn't purposeful, this comment proves there _is_ misdirection in this video.
@@lilyofluck371 I think the point is that his control of the deck does not require misdirection. Misdirection is only relevant if the trick requires it, but he doesn't need to misdirect you because his control is flawless. It's not really a debate about misdirection but the validity of misdirection versus control.
I will never not enjoy the non-top shuffles. I start laughing every time, because I can't see what's happening in realtime. It's magical, and it's *hilarious*.
This dude is so good at pulling out cards even Seto Kaiba wouldn’t believe it.
it's not possible! :)
Nice to see a fellow Yugioh player
Never thought it could be possibile to have such control over cards, I can only imagine how much time and effort it would take to reach such a skill. Chapeau!
This requires an enormous amount of practice 👏👏👏👏👏
What I love about your style is that you don't rush what you're doing and it flows so naturally. I see way too many sleight of hand artists blitz out their moves as fast as possible which just makes it hard to follow, especially for someone that doesn't know what's going on.
I think your verbal skills are almost as impressive as your card skills - just as precise.
Absolutely love this series, been waiting for another 10 levels video for a long time. Thanks and keep up the good magic!
Daniel - I’m curious about what teaching older people to do card tricks would do to help with the decline of mental acuity and motor skills. As you are a scientist, it might be worth a look. If that doesn’t interest you, just keep doing these awesome videos. Please!
Beautiful!!!!! You are truly a master at sleight of hand!
Started watching magic vids in 2020. Stumbled across your channel a few months ago. You inspired me to pickup Card College Vol 1 (also picked up J.B. Bobo's "Modern Coin Magic"). I'm not going to attempt to be a great magician, I just want to learn something interesting and have fun! Keep up the good work!
glad the videos inspired you!
@@DanielRoyMagic your videos have also inspired me… to never try magic because I can just watch the Master Daniel Roy for free
Brilliant work man- absolutely amazing
Been watching you for over a year. Incredible talent and inspiration! Jaw dropping stuff. Thanks and keep it coming
I'm glad you posted that first video I love your work and magic in general makes my entire day a little bit better.
Im a magician and I know nearly all these techniques but nevertheless you still melt my brain
This is truely amazing! It looks like real magic!
I'm blown away by your card skills. Keep posting.
Thank you! Will do!
Glad you shared this. Even though your talent is next level, makes you think before playing cards for money. To any non-believers, it’s real. No camera tricks, just premium magic tricks. Count yourself lucky to have seen this. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent work daniel great to watch
Watched the original 2 years ago and I'm happy to watch this one today. Wish you the best !
You don't even need to call this magic because it is so genuinely impressive how well controlled the cards are.
Beautiful!!!!! You are truly a master at sleight of hand! Always a mazing the watch.
I've watched your videos so many times, I should be a master by now. But, I'm still a sleight-of-hand chump. You're skills are so amazing, even when I know what you're doing (I think), I'm still amazed every time. So smooth - so perfect. Wow.
Truly outstanding again! I really love those moves! I’m going to try and learn one of them. Wish me luck on the next 70 years of my life.
This is one of my favorite effects to perform. Well done on your handling 👏
So Incredible, I love your tricks
This is incredible! It drives me crazy how I have no idea how the heck you do any of it.
I've been watching your videos for years but doesn't matter how many time I watch, is always smooth af.
Your first version was the video that introduced me to your channel, super cool to see you making a revamp!
Great video as always Daniel. Glad your still pumping those sub numbers. Crazy your first version of this has 3.5m views. And your shorts are killing it. One with 10M and another with 7.3M.
As I said previously (in my first comment on your channel I believe), you've got a great presence and handle yourself great in front of the camera. I believe that you're only getting better and better at it as well over the years. Always great to see new videos from you and I hope your live shows are a blast for you to perform, as I'm sure it is a completely different thrill from just making CZcams videos.
thank you so much!
Glad to see the return to form! I much prefer these routines over the simple yt shorts.
That's a pretty cool update! Let's go, Dan!
Love this, so much!
You're awesome, man. I've always been impressed by sleight of hand, and your original 10 Levels video absolutely blew my mind. It's wild people ever doubted you. Wouldn't be a very good trick if it were video editing, but I guess it's healthy to maintain a level of skepticism about what one sees online!
Keep It up Daniel!
Just amazing. Love this video so much. Thank you Daniel.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I know already that this is gonna be a great video❤️🔥
Mesmerizing!
I always love the presentation of your videos!
Very nice! Congrats on the anniversary.
Thank you very much!
Could watch these all day such an elegant way of cuts & controls only thing is missing is a glass of whiskey on the side and you wearing a suit ♥️
Wow, thank you for showing this.👍
Thank you for this.
Absolute adore this.
This is amaaaaazing.
Smooth Daniel. Smooth.
Thanks!
Amazing ! Always watching your videos like a child , with a kind of dumb smile !
Bravo à toi Daniel
Lot of practice. Keep make us dream.
Thank you, Daniel! Very, very enjoyable and entertaining. Your videos always leave me with a big smile. And they are enjoyable to watch more than once, too. I've been a fan of close-up magic for a long time. Many years ago I had a chance to see Ricky Jay perform close-up and I've never forgotten it. I've been a fan of sleight-of-hand ever since. Wish we lived on the east coast; we'd love to come to one of your shows. May you have a stellar life-long career in magic that makes you very happy.
Thank you very much!
@@DanielRoyMagic It looks so easy to me, when you play the cards. Well done.
I really like your take on magic, playing on the teaching aspect whilst amazing me as a viewer. You definitely possess sleight of hand.
Awesome stuff
Love your channel! Been learning a lot!
Glad to hear it!
Your videos always give me some sort of stress headache by the end but I can't get enough. I want to learn!
mission accomplished haha
Nice work!
Amazing shit bro!
Bravo bravo! Your confident and smooth delivery reminds me of a wise old wizard haha
so glad buddy. well done 🤗
Congrats on the success. Very well deserved.
Much appreciated!
God bless everyone and have a good day,
to fully assuage all those doubters talking about camera tricks, you could get a few continuously moving elements running in frame of your shot, like an analog clock face, lava lamp, or even a buncha hamsters in a glass tank. heck, get a disco ball and some moving coloured lights that hit all the other moving elements, generating unpredictable combinations, allowing some of the randomised backlight to illuminate your hands and even the cards too.
level 11: subvert all these expectations and incorporate actual camera tricks into the sleight of hand while emphasising all of the anti-camera-trick implements.
Accidentally came to this video and i love it
I loved both videos, watched them back to back.
Seriously, I need to learn at least one of these skills, but not to show off lol.
Just an amazing video
Thanks you very much for entertainment. Greetings from croatia 😎
Beautiful video! Well performed but also interesting and with good flow :)
Woah. Awesome video.
Very good!
crazy good routine
Glad you liked it!!
When level 2 already seems insane it's intimidating to say the least
People posting comments like it's fake. I think that's just because they don't understand that this is actually possible.
I see and understand all of the "tricks" you do in this video. Which is not the point of the video, it's not about the magic part. It's about the sleight of hand part which you do clearly describe.
What's amazing is how well executed this is, it looks so natural and with confidence. It's like seeing somebody really good with an instrumental. You understand what's happening. But most people would not be able to do it. I'll just sit back and appreciate the work. I appreciate you describing what you do as you do it. Center deals or second bottom deals would not be that impressive if we did not know you did it.
I remember this video from 2 years ago, I thought in the start this is the same video, but the title don't match. it says way too new of a date and 2.0. It all become clear when you told it in the end :) !
You got skills!
Amazing skill
Doc Holliday would be proud! Your my huckleberry!
Oh wow, just yesterday I searched up your v1.0 tutorial on a whim XD
What a coincidence you'd released an updated version today!
perfect timing :)
Good job 👍
So this is why you have to rotate dealer when playing with strangers. Haha. Amazing sleight of hand sir. :)
Legend has it my dad never came home with the milk because he was actually in Daniel Roy’s poker hand.
Happy Anniversary
What a crazy skill sleight of hand
Brill !
My brain can’t comprehend
You're the best
your center deal is flawless.
thanks :)
Agreed 110%
wow you are very clean
Daniel, can you perform a perfect one handed faro shuffle? Not on the table of course. If not, I believe you have a new challenge;) Either way, consider this comment a present in a form of an idea for a new video:)
GOAT
Very nice video! You're awesome
Thank you very much!
Thanks for the video! Super interesting!
I don't care that it can be learned and has a scientific explanation, it's real magic. Personally, I like Second Deal the best. You will never get tired of watching this magic.
Everyone: Didn't you do this video already?
Daniel: It's rewind time
pretty much haha
This is great, nice to shut the whiners down. This makes a nice Birthday present, been enjoying your content for over a year now, it's really fantastic.
When you shuffle at the start with the cards sideways it’s not like a riffle shuffle with the bridge and idk how you do it? Can you do a tutorial please? I really wanna learn how! I’m new to magic
Bro’s switching out cards in his hotbar.
LOL
this is so damn insane...
I would love to know how you do stuff like this and how I would practice something like this
Nice video!
Thanks!
