Apollo Robbins Demonstrates the Technique of a Master Pickpocket | The New Yorker - Zábava
Pick pocketing someone un-noticed whilst telling the person you're pick pocketing them.... That's skill on a whole new level.
It actually makes it easier to pick pocket someone whom you've told you're about to pickpocket because their "spot light" becomes hyperactive and misdirection becomes easier.
@@kjw1603 Truth. I had a buddy in Afghanistan who I'd ask for a smoke. He'd say sure, and feel around for his pack as I pulled it out of my pocket and lit one. I'd hand it back to him in while his eyes and jaw were open. Every. Time. I had to wait 10 to 15 min for that perfect window. I then had to wait a few more minutes so he could never pick up on it. The longer I did it, and more on guard he was, the easier it was,, and no, I never took one without permission. It was just something fun I discovered I had a talent for.

One thing people probably don't realize is imagine how effective this would be in a busy crowd like a concert.
That's exactly what magicians do. Ever seen a magician start off a show by surfing the crowd and stealing everyone's things by the time they get to the stage? It's a wonderful attention grabber.
That’s why I shove everything, including merch (I always get shirts) down my pants; Not my pockets.
I got pickpocketed one time, this guy was so good I can't even get mad at him. After I let go of his hand & walked for a few blocks I noticed I was getting cold so I looked down and realized I was completely buttnaked.

I was pickpocketed in Italy right outside the Coliseum on a bud. Two shirtless guys got on the bus we were on and starting doing flips and breakdancing, forcing everyone already on the bus to scoot closer together. I was forced next to two old “nuns”. We get off the bus and my wallet is gone (luckily I had given my passport to my friend who had mine and hers in a necklace around her neck). The entire thing took 10 seconds. I got off the bus and realized what had happened and started crying. We called the police and told them what happened and they said it happened all the time and told me to consider myself lucky that they didn’t get my passport. The “nun” bit is one of the oldest in Italy, because who would suspect a nun of any wrongdoing! Lesson learned!
I always keep my hands in my pocket.

Pick pocketing is a QuickTime event.
When ever I travel, I always carry a fake, decoy wallet with expired cards and fake money with a real one dollar bill on top. If and when I'm "hit", which I've been twice, I hand it over. They get a dollar and I'm long gone. I'm not getting shot for my money. My real wallet is in my boot, with my knife or in a landyard around my neck hanging low under my shirt.
Where do u live
and the 2nd fake bill says _'eff you have a nice day with your single doller!'_ , doesn't it? 😂
You didn't need to tell us about your "real" wallet
Are you going out soon?
Because of guys like you who keep posting like you did, I do the opposite. Every time I get mugged I hand over my wallet containing all my money. The thugs (having read about your trick) then go "Oh no you don't! ", hand me back my non-decoy wallet, and grab the fake pile of money I keep in my boot.
Thanks for this it's wonderful

This quarantine has made me find a new job. Thanks for the educational video
A few years ago, I was at a kids play centre, with bouncy castles, mini golf, ping pong, and performers. I was there with my cousin, but we were only there for the entertainment of my sister and her friends.
This guy walks up, and could tell that we were getting bored of the whole thing.
He asks us if we wanted to see a magic trick, and completely blows my mind with a series of tricks like these. In a matter of minutes, with both of us carefully watching, he took off both of our watches, pops a coin in and out of a bottle (and it won’t fit through the opening) and several other very impressive tricks.
Never again will I doubt the skill of magicians performing for kids!
Coin in the bottle isn't impressive; it generally uses a folding coin. There are a couple of more skill-based methods but they're rare. Stealing watches takes a lot of skill though.
