    Hi 👋 Caan
    I watching your video from year ago .
    Can I ask you something please?
    I’m looking to back overvalued odd horses 1 day before and Laying the next day before starting. Pre-race better said.
    The question is how can I use timeform to find this high odds ? Or better said where can I search for this ?
    Thanks 🙏 you for content is very helpful 😊

    So, are the Timeform ratings a collateral form rating, the same as the Racing Post Ratings? And what is a adjusted rating?

  • @alanhaynes9672
    @alanhaynes9672 Před 3 lety +5

    I backed horses for over 5 years using the most comprehensive ratings system I have ever know and still lost money. Trading or being a bookmaker are the only profitable ways in my opinion

      I was thinking how to reply to your comment without sounding like a dick because I have no ill will toward other punters and please dont take this the wrong way... Anyway, I'll say it's 100% possible to make a long term profit backing horses because I do it, but (a very big butt, lol), it depends on whether you really get the method right. You say you've used a comprehensive rating system and I don't know the details obviously, but for example I use bots for things like laying and trading, but not for backing because there is a complexity not only in the ratings (of which I made my own tissue system), but also human knowledge is needed of how the "game" is being played by the trainers. I don't mean trainer stats etc.., I mean are they messing around with the where and when of entering horses and how to know. The form/stats can definitely indicate a runner's relative potential, but it's only experience to be able to interpret that form into whether the horse is true to the form or not. And even then it's quite hard many times to know, sometimes it's obvious. This is not something a rating will clearly tell you, nor do I believe it can it be coded. EDIT: The reason I can use a bot to lay is because it can be done only based on stats. Sure I could maximise lay selections manually, but I just don't time for that. The backing bets are usually at quite long odds and really need to be individually assessed.

      Funny; I've made a good profit over the years backing horses, but no way I can make a profit trading. I came to the conclusion that it just can't be done.

    I've been betting for years on a Saturday in Australia. I've bought racing paper's waste of money! Benchmarks in grades, track conditions, barriers etc done it all! The best way to win on a horse is 3rd up or what I've started doing is following 1 horse in which you double up in till it wins. I'm $150 up in profit from that 1 horse. I'm not having ago at your way of studying its the true way as every punter would say!but I've learnt its not.

    @user-io8qx5qj2s Před 5 měsíci

    Do we have a website where the real time of horse finishers are displayed. Most websites don't show the carried weight and time, but some calculated rating. There is a formula speed times time is equal to distance. They show us only the distance.

  • @SmartDumbNerdyCool

    I've noticed the horses and dogs that no-one ever considers are the ones that usually win. And the results in sports no-one is expecting usually wins (in a 1/4 situation the least expected 1/4 result is the one that usually wins). Why would this be the case unless there's an element of riggery? Or does this just reflect an oversight in the market?

    • @CaanBerryProTrader
      @CaanBerryProTrader  Před 3 lety +5

      I think you are maybe missing the point that; odds are a reflection of probability. The key to winning is to beat the price, not choose the winner, because there will be a variance in results no matter which selection you chooose over time. You need to get the price that beats its real chances.
