lucky you, you are missing nothing
Tried these for the first time last year while visiting some family in Leicester, & we were absolutely hooked. I’ve now made them a handful of times & they’re SO good. Thank you for this quick & straight forward recipe 🎉.
Worst thing about living in a foreign country is not having Gregg's .... and a decent curry shop.
Agreed
Cook. You can make this or a killer chicken tikka
Foreign country? Do you mean living as a foreigner in another country.
@@ClankyRochethahaha 😅 true

This afternoon I made Cornish pasties then my daughter said she doesn’t like Cornish because they’re like ‘mushy brains’
She asked me to make steak bakes instead so here I am. I hope they’re good because she’s a very harsh critic. 😕
Simple and straight forward. Thanks!
Just like your comment - Simple, Straightforward and lovely! Thank you x
Gregg's use puff pastry for all their bakes
cheap, shitty stuff yep
Followed you recipe today turned out excelent
My god delicious can’t wait
i just like listening to the inside of a gregg stake bake
Looks great! Seems a lot like our Aussie meat pies, but oddly we always use a splash of Worcestershire, which as far as I know is British
Good god, no onions or mushrooms. I’ll soon change that lad. Thanks for the lovely recipe. The video gave me lots of ideas really enjoyed it. I’m definitely doing these pies tomorrow.
hahah!! No Mushrooms and no blue cheese in my world. I ended up stuffing them with all sorts though, so simple and so versatile.
I didn't think I tasted onions or mushrooms in the Gregg's version?
You keep saying use filo pastry? But it looks like puff pastry, can you clarify please
Thank you real helpful.

Im no Chef just a 73 year old Man living in Cyprus who misses Steak puddings and pies.
I was brought up in Manchester eating chip shop teas, hardly any chippees over here.
Have you any Videos on the original Hollands Meat and Potato, Cheese and Onion and Steak pies also their original Steak puddings.?
I havebjust sunscribed to your channel thanks.
Very tasty
Dimensions of pastry would help with a clone recipe, also you said filo pastry? Did you mean that or puff pastry?
I think functionally it's the same thing, no?
Was it filo Pastry or puff
Ya get the finest in Scotland. baynes have the finest. there is none better. but I'm sure this also tastes amazing especially for home made
How much beef? Looks about a pound? Advise, please
Gregge’s Steak Bake is very variable: often lumps of fat and usually Luke warm. They must be making a fortune out of us.
Make your own, if possible. Freeze a batch of them. It’ll be much healthier and much cheaper.
Worth using proper beef marrow, it's not cheap but adds great flavour. I usually add a little black pepper and salt.
I totally agree. I usually add quite a bit of black pepper, to make a proper pepper steak pie. Not too much, to spoil it, but just enough to get a real taste. It's the best pie ever.
yummyy
I love your accent. is it from yorkshire?
Hi Dorna!! I love this comment thank you so much. I'm from Manchester but live in a town called Macclesfield.
@@chefrick247 you're welcome! I'm american and love studying accents in the uk
4:49 My brother in christ please NEVER hold a knife as if it was a pen
Erm, is that filo pastry? Looks more like puff pastry.
Correct!
That is 100% not phyllo pastry!!!
Should of took a bite out of it.
My Dad always says that, "Why don't you take a bite and tell people how it tastes?" Maybe I will if I ever find time to make a new video!
That’s not filo
How to make a steak bake. Cook some beef, and then BUY some pastry. Will anyone actually show you actually how to make it? If you're going to buy half of it - you might as well buy all of it.
Steak should not shed water.
Why the hell would you want to replicate this cheap shit for??? Beef from Peru, vegetables from a tin, I cannot understand why people think Greggs is quality?
Cold afternoon after a long walk, I give you one of these nice and warm with a beer and you'd love it.
@@chefrick247 the beer yes but I would not poison my gut with Greggs
Nooooooooooo!!!!! I used filo !! 🥲🥲🥲
Noooooo, I'm going to add a note in the video if I can. Sorry x
