  • This is the clinch pick, made by shiv works. This is a super sleek design that is ideal for self defence situations. as you can see the edge is on the top facing upward which may seem unusual but it is for a good reason!

    Plenty of internet commandos in these comments not realizing that the clinch pick is a purpose built knife designed by an U.S. Army Ranger lol if you hurt yourself with it, its because you're a dork who has no actual training. Its an excellent knife for tight spots and crappy situations.

      I agree man! A great close quarter self defense tool! I bought this thing when the clinch pick 2.0 dropped a long time ago, and still probably the most versatile/ easy to draw/ conveinient little piece

    This knife is the bomb diggity. A pack of funboys tried to jump big poppa but I pulled my Scooby Snack slicer and got the drop on those jabronis faster than a waxed gerbil at a Richard Gere funnel party. Scooby snacks!

    You're definitely holding that Pikal upside down brotha, it's very similar to the Tops Unzipper, or any other Pikal. It's reversed from a Karambit. You hold it the other way..

    • @straighttothepoint3477
      @straighttothepoint3477  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I have personally never heard of a Pikal, feel free to educate me, but this knife is the Clinch Pick made by Shivworks and they have talked about how they designed it to be held like I'm showing in this vid. Look up "clinchpick warior poet society" on CZcams and i think you will find the vid

      @@straighttothepoint3477 no I know exactly what this knife is, Chivworks actually goes around teaching classes on the clinch pick. Just look up some videos of Pikals and how they're held and you'll see it's basically a backwards karambit

    • @EverydayBladeCollector
      @EverydayBladeCollector Před 4 měsíci

      @@straighttothepoint3477 it's personal preference, but the ideal way to carry any Pikal would be the ice pick grip, ripping downwards with natural body motion as opposed to slashing upwards against it.

    • @shortyxmoshpigx5488
      @shortyxmoshpigx5488 Před měsícem

      the clinch pick is a reverse edge knife that is supposed to be put into a very small niche use. it is supposed to be carried next to the belt buckle, handle facing towards the belt buckle, slight downward cant. it is supposed to be used in forward grip, edge in, and only in very close proximity. the edge comes a little close to the handle for a reverse grip edge in.
      but in fgei it is really really effective.
      'pikal' or 'pakal' is tagalog (language in the philipines) that means something along the lines of 'to rip'. in some philipino martial arts 'pakal' refers to having a knife in reverse grip, sometimes it refers to the edge orientation, but not always. for example i have dabbled in fcs kali a bit, and we referred to any reverse grip as 'pakal'.

    I don't like it. It looks like you could slice your thumb pretty bad on that edge up top of edge. If the edge was on the belly I would be interested. It is interesting but it's not for me

    • @straighttothepoint3477
      @straighttothepoint3477  Před 6 měsíci +2

      That is fair and i had definitely thought that myself, but really the way the handle is shaped, it makes it so that it would be unlikely to happen. I do think you can buy a version of this knife with both edges sharpened, but not with just the bottom edge i don't think.

      That is a fair take, and i agree with you for the most part, but this knife was designed specifically for tight situations like in a car. There are video from Shivworks on CZcams explaining more about it. Now i dont carry mine too often id perfer a slightly larger blade for self defence. I could see this clinch pick being handy tho. Feel free to subscribe! I just posted a testing video of the Bark River Ultra lite field knife. Feel free to check it out, its pretty a sweet fixed blade 😁
