I came for a stove review, I left questioning life, the universe and everything.
I tend to have that effect on people...
Good pace and delivery in your video. Great style. Subscribed.
This was very helpful. Thank you for all this information!
I have been looking for a good review of this stove. Probably shouldn’t look anymore cause I ordered it yesterday. Guess we will see how it works. Thanks for the video.
I've had this stove for a few years and the stansport hose is a must have. its the best car camp stove. Enjoyed the video.
Thanks!
Thanks for this one!
Still love my Genesis!
Solid review. The fins are to in increase surface area with the flame to capture more of its heat.
Great sense of humor. Outstanding scripting! Nice camera work, good sound levels. Spot on editing. All around top level production work.
Glad you enjoyed it! Stay tuned.
awesome video! just on a binge on watching jet boil camping stuff and still on the fence about this one. but def tired of burning stuff. from the looks of it, i wonder the longevity of those silicon straps that hold it together once it’s folded will last long. maybe i’ll wait to see if they make a 2nd model of this one an either get that or once the genesis 2 is out the 1st model will be a little cheaper. non the less, again awesome video and enjoyed the humor! cheers to camping this season!
Just used it to make breakfast this morning : ) 2 years of regular use, no issues with the straps so far.
@@WastingTimeInTheWoods good to know. really appreciate your review! hope you guys get out more this season!
@@WastingTimeInTheWoods camping mt st. helens next weekend!
If it rumbles... pack up quick : )
Where did you have the fuel canister while boiling?
whats the longer gas reg called
I'm from the UK and ordered the stove from the US. I'm having trouble finding the rubber hose as a replacement for the brass tube.
The stove is great used it many times.
It's just that the brass tube can get in the way a little bit.
There was a Camp Chef hose that I found that looked like it would work. There's a link somewhere in the comments below. Everyone is struggling for stock it seems. Good luck!
@@WastingTimeInTheWoods Thank you. I have sent them an email to see if it is compatible and if they ship to the United Kingdom.
I want to get the Jetboil HalfGen Base Camp Stove. Its nice.
Yep, super nice. Same regulator tech in a package half the size. We used our Genesis again this weekend at Saguaro Nation al Park and I really can't say enough good things about these stoves. The only weird part is lighting them. The regulator is sooooo granular that you have to give it a turn and a half before you can see that it's lit if the sun is up. On a Coleman a revolution and a half would launch the space shuttle : )
@@WastingTimeInTheWoods Cheapest I found the HalfGen is $155 no tax and free shipping. Still a bit pricey but much more doable!
@@LegionTacticoolCutlery Yep, they're pricey. You could go with a single burner Coleman for a bout $20 but you won't get the precision cooking.
@@WastingTimeInTheWoods Oh dont worry I am getting the HalfGen. Just gonna find the best price! ;-D
@@WastingTimeInTheWoods Ok i pulled the trigger. Got the HalfGen 146 bucks free shipping no tax. Thats damn good!
You almost lost me when you called the Gosun stupid, but I resisted and will give you a chance to overcome. I realized your character is based on brutal truth with a abrasive personality.
I can resemble that. Thx for a decent review of the jetboil.
Wholly crap. I think that's the realist comment so far. My wife could not have described me more accurately. That's not a character I play, that's just my character... I love the comment and thank you.
@@WastingTimeInTheWoods lol, notice I said I can resemble that. 😬🤪
@@thediscombobulationzonecov6972 There's little that I don't notice... which is clearly part of my problem. Happy Holidays buddy!
Is there another REPLACEMENT REGULATOR HOSE that I can use? The one listed above is out of stock everywhere.
Maybe try this one. It looks the same but I'm not sure:

This one is sold out too!, looking for options
Hi, can you use Coleman C500 fuel with the stock adapter?
Not sure. I know they have a 20lb propane adapter but not sure for the smaller mixed fuel bottles.
The replacement fuel hose is unavailable on Amazon. Any other you'd recommend that would fit the genesis stove? Even one that connects to a 20 lb tank? Thanks.
Thats a stinker. I bought a 5lb tank (same fitting as a 20lb) and I want to run my stove off it so I’ll give them a call and let you know what they say.
Looks like it can be purchased direct: stansport.com/30-propane-hose-regulator-189/
Thanks Dean!
@@MrRustydawg Thanks! I was actually able to find it on the walmart website. Works great!
@@WastingTimeInTheWoods I was able to get it through Walmart and it worked perfectly! Thanks for the tip!
2:03 It's Matryoshka doll lmao not ?papushka? wtf haha! Great review! Bought one!
I think I meant “Babushka” which is the western moniker. Either way… I stand by the analogy : )
How long would you say a 16oz propane tank would last?
A very long time. On medium heat, both burners, probably a few hours of cook time.
Does it make sens to review an outdoor equipment inside a garage?
Made sens to me : ) When we’re in the woods its family time not “watch dad make yet another CZcams video” time. I do a trail log once in a while when we get away alone.
I think for $75 and a little tweaking, the Coleman 2 burner Fold N Go has more bang for the buck especially when the Jetboil is not without it's flaws.
Yeah. If you’re not trying to cook a soufflé, there are much cheaper alternatives. The Jet-boil is pricey but its designed and built exceptionally well. I think the little butane stoves would work for most. I kept burning the eggs on our coleman which was like a rocket ship on low.
sorry..If I want to use both I need 2 gas tank?
No need to apologize, thanks for watching. One tank will fuel both burners. The Jetlink port is for fueling another (third) burner from a single can of fuel.
@@WastingTimeInTheWoods tq again, clear
the the pot coating holding up?
Yep. 3 years on, no peeling chipping or rubbed off spots.
My genisis will not work right out of the box there is no gas flow that I can tell…..I’m not a happy Camper anybody have any ideas.
How is it holding up after three years?
Great! Zero issues. The one design flaw is that the pans are a little too thin. I wish the frying pan, especially it was about twice as thick because it tends to work a lot and has a bad hotspot in the middle. The stove itself is fantastic though. I’m trying to find a similar size frying pan that might fit into the Kit.
How to order????
Use the link in my description to get it on Amazon. They’re the cheapest currently and they send me a few bucks for beer money if you use my link : )
Super cool, but way too expensive for my budget.
Я хочу купить не понимаю рекламу.
Is this guy doing a review or stand up comedy?
Little of both... poorly...
@@WastingTimeInTheWoods at least you're owning it, respect. Might watch more of the channel then.
Very expensive
Over priced
My $20 dollar Korean butane stove will kick that things ass all day long.
Yeah those cheap butane cartridge stoves are awesome! My dad uses them in his rv to cook outside. Of course they don’t have a low setting that works very well but as long as you’re boiling water or frying bacon you’re set. Does it work above 9K feet or below 32 degrees? I've heard mixed reviews on that... Maybe I'll do a comparison video of the most expensive vs the cheapest to see how they really stack up.
Too bad the reliability is shit
