    4:11 hey, brazilian here, so the White away kit was created because in 2019 the Brazil National Team was completing 100 years of existence, and the white kit was the first kit brazil used in history, so it IS in the tradition, and the green kit was never used in an official match bc it was a third kit, only created for commercial purpose, sorry for my bad english, my first language is portuguese so my english is a bit bad

      It is an old club, not very successful but they were able to participate in a some international competitions (Libertadores and Sudamericana) so, I wouldn't say they are famous, they are known by football fans in South America.

    I'm missing Holstein Kiel in there, in their 1st ever 2. Bundesliga season they released an away kit with a nautical chart (Kiel is a port city so the sea plays a huge part in their history). Well, the DFL banned this shirt because there were letters on the front neither dedicated to the clubs nor to the sponsors badge

      Interestingly a time Inter did have a shirt banned (or just pressured into dropping) was a decade or so back they had a white kit for European matches with a red St. George's cross on it. The Turkish FA complained saying it was "racist" as it was a crusader icon. I guess they never looked at their own national team's crest.

    I’m surprised Brazil’s recent white away kit went ahead. The national team used to play in white until the 1950 World Cup ‘final’ when they lost to Uruguay. The defeat was so apparently so seismic nationally that they ditched their traditional white kit for yellow and blue thereafter so I didn’t expect it made any kind of a return.

    There was going to be a kit of Mexico for France 1998 with the eagle of the national flag, but was discarded because using one of the patriot symbols for comercial purposes in the country is illegal. The kit was changed to the one we already know, with the Maya Calendar

      I think the calendar pattern works better and it's iconic, you see that kit and you instantly think of Luis Hernandez.

    My personal favourite shirt designs now have to be the Spains iconic home red shirt, England away dark blue shirt with pink, every Arsenal shirt honestly, Man citys light blue, Aston Villa iconic purple and blue home shirt, Venezia shirts this year, Nigeria 2018 jersey

    For the 2016/17 season German club VfB Stuttgart came out with a silver kit. Fans loved it and sales went great. Puma acutally stopped production tho due to the finish of the colour being too difficult to do for mass production. The club asked all buyers to give the silver shirts back for a new easier to produce grey kit and a complimentary home kit in exchange. Some of the silver ones are still out there tho

    Great Vid! Living 5 minutes away from Bedale, their kits are actually super popular gag christmas presents every year in this area of England. Just a heads up though, for future reference it’s pronounced BEE-dale, it looks like it needs an extra E but actually doesn’t :)

    Maybe the China kit was banned because the dragon has five claws. I think five clawed dragons could only be used if you were part of the royal family. I might be wrong, but this might be the reason. Pity - the kit looks great.

    I bought and still have the Fiorentina kit & when the news came out it was banned I couldn't see why. Eventually I did but I wasn't looking at the thin lines I was seeing what looks like arrows all over it. It's been well looked after since about 1992.

      I guess they'd argue it had been a positive symbol for thousands of years until it was hijacked for about 10 years in the 30's/'40s
      Unfortunately it will now be almost always associated with the most heinous regime imaginable, so maybe ought have known better
      Unless of course they were trying to be clever and making a statement in the knowledge they could ultimately hide behind the '' we didn't realise " or its "meant to be positive" argument.
      Never heard anything about their political leanings one way or the other, unlike other Italian clubs

      Florentina is a non political club according to their ultras it seems.
      The Swastika,
      It is a holy symbol for Hindus and Buddhists but I don't think Europeans suddenly grew a love for the two religions and embraced the symbol😂
      The thing is the swastika in the west has a negative view which makes sense so the blame is on the club for not knowing better.
      Plus the Swastika is tilted so that doesn't help them either..

    Just speculating here, but perhaps the Chinese dragon kit was rejected because the dragon has 5 claws and 5 clawed dragons were reserved for use exclusively by the Emperor. Maybe it wouldn't have been rejected if the dragon had only 3 claws.

    In 1987, FC Homburg played in the German Bundesliga. Their sponsor should have been the condom manufacturer LONDON but the league forbade it. Although AIDS prevention was a big issue at the time, the league could not bring itself to allow the jerseys. We always jokingly said that ARSENAL would have started in the Premier League with the sponsor HOMBURG. The jerseys can be found on the market, but they are rare and expensive.
