It needs better fuel economy giving engines . If not a diesel , may be a hybrid. It's overall a very nice product
with one of finest interiors in segment and even smarter looks from outside.

Did I hear twin clutch gearbox at 11:19? Just for the record, the Astor 1.3 turbo comes with a TC auto gearbox.

As an automotive engineer and enthusiast, I expected more kind of informative video rather than traveling blog as it seems. Like putting little cherries just to show a smaller cake more better. here that is Astor. Please, give back that old power drift charm where it used to make proper and only automotive info videos.

This is one of the best in the segment in my opinion. also a good value for money car for the price they offer the best features which makes it a better choice than the other brand's cars.
If only it had better mileage. Waiting for the Hyryder pricing.

I almost booked Astor last week but after seeing multiple mileage issues, i have put my plan on hold.
Yeah mileage is extremely poor, may get around 6-8 in city (for CVT)
Go for Torque convertor instead of CVT. And mileage is fine.

Why would you guys skip Chennai while traveling from Pondy to Vizag?
Honestly the car is average , it has a stupid AI bot really of no use in long run . The car makes so much engine noise , the cabin insulation is poor and the gear shifts are not so good . I got a headache after driving this for 30 mins on test drive.
PD , do you really have to recommend this car.

I'm using the car for almost a year, and yet no issues.
the AI really understands you, only a tech person can describe and understand that better.
and the comfort is best in the segment, cabin noise? have you driven Sonet? At least MG has better material quality.
@@riteshgupta3245 Sir, just curious how is the performance on riding against the slopes, I felt the power to be low, not sure if thats a Unit issue or not.
I have MG Astor 1.5MT...car performance in slope is very noticeable.. With full load it moves like a tractor in slope... Even alto will overtake you easily... Also mileage is not good in MG you won't get more than 9 in city I drive below 2000 RPM still it sucks
I would seriously consider this car if they remove that bot on the dash. It's really annoying to see it blankly staring 😂 plus I feel it is useless since it is not necessary for the AI commands... Just a gimmicky feature. If they could save that money and use it elsewhere like adding an auto dimming IRVM it will be worth it!
The Al technology in Astor is very impressive , but the best is its reliable and smart option.

Astor is not that great as projected , The simple reason is the mileage is not more then 8 KMPL for a CVT option . also , There are some technical glitches which company has not addressed yet n we have been following up with the company ...

Bro, the mileage of any car completely depends on the driving style of an individual. So you can't blame the car, it's all about how you drive. I have also taken the test drive, but haven't felt any glitch or something. It's a wonderful car with advanced features.
Even Turbo average with Torque Convertor is better. Don't go for CVT.
I drove test car for 20 kms long and got about 17 kmpl.. showroom driver got amazed and took a picture because he didnt got more than 13kmpl ... so mileage is purely depends on how you drive..

The car looks good but the back seat is cramped or is spacious and how comfortable with full capacity
It's very comfortable. No feel of any cramp and less space.
Yes it's width is 1809 which is more than Creta, Seltos, Kushaq, Taiguan etc and cushioning is soft and comfy

My friend has got this. He complains of very low fuel economy and low performance. He can't understand why that is. MG has refused to help and he is stuck with the tincan. I feel Gloster and ZS are the only good models in MG's line-up.
Tin can? I own Astor cvt savvy for last 7 months, it is built very very solid, thud sound is very reassuring and Astor is built on ZS Platform which has 5 Star safety rating.
So, please don't comment when you don't know what you are talking. Yes mileage is an issue but if one drives with light foot they can get 10-12 km per liter which is as good as rest in the segment like Cretas, Seltos. Performance it's decent but if one needs fast acceleration they can go for Turbo variant . All in all Astor is not perfect but still a great car better than many other options
