We turned this into a series! Check out the playlist here! czcams.com/play/PLOM4arexyrFlitwFzUvH5DofaHqkSow_D.html&si=4xjG55omNMqgkhRY
Absolutely need a series! Best city start so far on CZcams!!
Ahh thank you Synth!!
A lovely start to this city! It just cries to be a series.
Thanks Deejai! Lovely to hang out with you earlier!
I think the city name should be Few Orleans
Great suggestion thank you!
+1. Definitely.
Yeh love that!
What a beautiful little town! You were mentioned in the comments of a CIty Planner Plays video, and the praise given brought me straight here. I'm so glad! I really enjoy how differently you plan and build than how I approach it. The difference makes my brain happy! :D
Ahh thank you! Welcome to the channel and hope you continue to enjoy the content!
that felt like a 5 minute episode! that's how good it was. please, keep the series going few c
Yes, Please continue this map! I think this little town is perfect. I think it would be interesting to see how it works having another little town with this map , with the tiles non-contiguous to this one -such as another town like this up the river? I have heard this can be done, but i have never seen it done. Also I think you work your magic here with making these look so nice in the industrial area, the stone quarry, how you zone housing, and adding parking as you go . I really, really love the slower place, and this episode was so relaxing and inspiring, and fun. Thank you!
Thanks Jstokes! Glad you enjoyed it and yes I think I will go down the 'county route' as small towns could pop up all over, we'll explore it!
Already mentioned in the live chat, but my name suggestion is Fewcastle-Upon-Tyne
Thanks Paul, nice suggestion!
Beautiful start. Definitely needs a series. It'll be amazing to see how the city grows and detailing improves as they fix the current texture bugs and the prop limitation.
Finally someone who pays attention to zoning and details. The most just make a grid and don't look back. I've learned a lot which I'll use when I start my own city. Thanks for that❤
It should definitely be a series! Your first official one? Absolutely! We will love watching it grow!
Great Start FC, love the poo water mansion!... still laughing at that!!!!! please continue the excellent and fun work ty
Haha thank you!
Would love to see this continue as a series, but would also love to see more city starts on other maps as well.
So much to love in this video. Even without the detailing tools you’ve managed to create a realistic small town with all sorts of interesting features. I love the stone quarry and the tips about zoning small industrial units and shops. My tiny suggestion would be a path between the row houses for access to the bins, etc.
Watching you create an interesting road layout from scratch was a joy.
Thank you!!
Yes please continue Few. City has gotten a soul already and now I'm curious.
I'm very glad I found this series! After a few restarts I really got frustrated with how difficult it seemed to make my cities look nice from the start and lost motivation. You adressed all the issues I had: avoiding jarring terrain deformation by assets, avoiding asset repetition, avoiding being dominated by grids, detailing with the available resources... I LOVE what you did with the stone quarry to make it look slightly more realistic. I appreciate how you mix timelapse pieces with slow going pieces where you actually explain the why to everything you do. I will definitely follow the rest of this series but for now I need to go build a new city again, you have inspired me.
Knowing how you do your detailing and placement of your creations, this had to drive you nuts for a bit with the new tools and also missing some of the mods from last game. This was a great start to a new city and game. Like always love it.
Thank you! Yes it does make me approach things a whole different way without the usual detailing tools, but it’s fun none the less!
Definitely want a series of this! I'm normally quite stuck in my ways with only watching certain creators for certain games, but with CS2 just being out, yours was one of the first video's that captivated me to watch a full episode!
Keep it going!
Ahh thank you! And yes we are keeping this going as a series! 😄
Definitely would enjoy seeing you continue this build. Lots of people starting new builds, so it would be nice to see you go a little deeper into a build. Higher population, more traffic, etc, and see how the game performs, and what some of the higher end assets look like.
I’m also desperate to see someone do a “county” style build, based on British Columbia and the Pacific North West, with rail as the main network infrastructure.
WOW! I've never seen anyone build like that! I LOVE IT!!
I can't wait to see how this city is growing! Love the amount of detail you put in every single spot.
I like how you show how taking our time make something fabulous. I like the slower pace of CS:II
Would love to see this one continue! Such a unique little town already!
What an absolutely stunning start of a city! 😍 It's going to take me quite a number of hours in the game before I start realising what you did to get here, I fear...
Wouldn't mind seeing you continue this city, but then again, I also need inspiration on how to start my own city, so seeing you start a new city wouldn't be too bad either.
YAY! A fresh start to something awesome!
I’m so glad to discover your channel! I started playing for the first time and immediately got into debt and chaos haha. This has helped me realise I can take it slow and focus on details, not rush into development
Absolutely STUNNING
Deffo want this to continue! Please continue your cities skylines 2 series been waiting for you to release one as I love how you build!
Just came from a 'Beginner Series' teaching me how to play the game and that city looked pretty good. But this whole video is like a smack in the face compared to that one. This is the gold standard for a starting out city. Wow! Everything looks so well designed.
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it and hope you enjoy the rest of the series so far 😄
These videos are so relaxing. It helps that you're skilled at using the game and you convey a great deal of interesting knowledge as you explain your plans to us. This should for sure be a series.
Great start!! Please turn this into a series! Making me super excited to start playing :)
Love how u work around the terrain in this game! I've been struggeling with it since there is a bunch of different heights on all the maps. You definitely inspired me!
Fab start, defo series, don't even know why that was a question 😊❤
Was leaving for work when you started, so I just quickly joined in and left the premiere play to make up the numbers 😁 watched it now with a nice mug of coffee that I almost sprayed on the screen at the poo mansion 😂
Love your builds it's unique. Following your style lol. Thanks for helping CS2 community!
Totally with you on the trees! YES please continue this build!
I like the idea of seeing some different maps and best starts - I feel like I flounder immediately when I try new maps
Love what you have done here! I'd love to see some great starts on the other maps, then you could do a viewer poll to see which one to make your first series out of! Just found your channel BTW and instantly subscribed!
Nice start! Don't stop - keep building)
LOVE the start! Please keeping it going. Really wanna see how it grows. I like the name Few York and wanna throw it in the mix!!! Keep it up!!!
Great suggestion! Thank you!
THIS WAS INCREDIBLE!
Wow you have flourished with this video!! Love your design of the city. And your idea with Grain Farms and Query too. Keep uploading!!
My favourite start of all the creators so far! And I had already started on this map too. Series please!!
Thank you! And yes this is continuing as a series, the playlist is now available!
Amazing how something as simple as controlling the size of your zoning can really make things feel so much better. I've been having trouble getting anywhere in this game because things kept feeling too "same-y." Time to go back to the drawing board and build smaller, I think!
Really impressed so far and keen for a series. Most impressive introductory city build ive seen in CS2 so far. Managed to create a small town with real character.
Thank you so much! Very kind words!
Absolut joy to watch. Your attention to detail and your rather slow approach really sets it apart from what I've seen so far. Even though I was and still am a bit skeptical towards CS2, you really bring the best out of it. Looking forward to more episodes of this city.
Great start! Really really nice set up
Had a blast watching this!
Series for sure!
Really enjoyed this start! Please do keep going with it, as I'd love to see how it develops and that.
I've not watched much of CSII developing beyond this small town vibe, but I really love it. Feels like a nice small town in America. Should be called like "Tree Hill" or something.
Hi FewCandy. I thought I should start Few Orleans from the beginning, and this first episode reminded me of how much work it was detailing without a prop line tool.
best start i've seen on youtube so far
When my two fav CS CZcamsrs are building on the same map... Is it a competition, future colab, coincidence or just Cities love? ❤
Haha Cities love for sure!! I'm up against some stiff competition there! 😅
I was waiting and looking forward to your first cs2 episode and you didn't disappoint :) please continue
Lovely start and would love to see more.
I realy like your style of building, love this series. Keep going!
I love the way you build your city!
Amazing start to a city! The most entertaining I‘ve seen. So many details that just make it fun to watch👏 Just gained a new subscriber that’ll watch the whole series
Thank you! And welcome to the channel!
Such a cool City :D I'd love a series
Loved this video! This will be a great series! 😆😆 Love your channel so much!
Ahh thank you Katie! 😄
10 minutes in and this video is the best River Delta start on CZcams. I love it!
Ahh thank you so much!
You are so creative. I don't want to just copy your initial layout and ideas, but I know if I try to come up with mine, it will never look even 10% as good as yours.
Amazing video. I learned so many practical things I can incorporate into my own play throughs. I’d love to see the series carried on.
Thank you! Definitely looks like that's the popular choice!
please continue this. this is the most amazing start for city skylines 2 that ive seen
Thank you! Yes continuing, the playlist is now available on the channel 😄
lovely start keep going
I love that every single content creator's "detailing timelapse" is just roads, that single path and the odd bush. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad that this game shipped without access to any props at all. And the cranes are still completely ridiculous for low zoning. But, given the obvious limitations of this game right now, that's a solid start FewC, it looks as good as it can at the moment.
I would love a series! I learned a lot and have been inspired!
Just found your channel today. I absolutely adore your style of building! Subscribed. Look forward to watching the rest of this series!
Thank you! Welcome to the channel, hope you the enjoy the other eps so far!
Yes, please continue as a series!
Love your content, your easy to listen to. Please continue this city
Thank you! Yes we've continued it! You can find the playlist here: czcams.com/play/PLOM4arexyrFlitwFzUvH5DofaHqkSow_D.html&si=P3NyjyPC1PnjgyFn
Really good city start, would like a series of this to see how the town turns out.
Tres beaux debut, magnifique!
Tout est propre et bien pensé. Bravo !
I think you know we all want a CS2 series! Considering all the discourse on the game, this start was great. It is however obvious some mods would be great (FindIt, Historical Buildings, Prop Tool, Auto Tree Grow) before we go further with MoveIt and suchlike
This is just the content I needed at just the right time. I started a city on this map last night to try things out and figure out what I needed to change to get some decent performance (tips - you want the game installed on a fast drive not an old rusty disk platter, and if turning off global illumination / depth of field isn't enough...antialiasing. Turned that off and all my hitching went away)
Anyway, I tried to use the road layout they provided and didn't quite understand how the slope tool works. By the time I got to rank 3 my city felt crowded and ugly lol. Definitely getting some inspiration here.
Hey I was looking for some nice CS2 series and after days of search I stumbled upon this vid, I use the same zoning trick as you so you're already really cool, and I have to say you have a really nice laugh haha I'm looking forward to the series
What a gorgeous start to a series! Definitely my favourite creator premiere of CS2 so far! Also, I had to do a double take with the way you said 'parking lot' at 40:32 lol! P.s. what is the funding split for the bridge to the Rockstar Mansion? I'm sure the townspeople will want to know how much of their taxes went toward access for Gene Simmons' rural retreat!
Thanks for the great video! Did you know that if you double click with the same road size it will add a node. That way you don't need to draw a perpendicular road then delete it. It saves a step and means you can easily add in a node even if there are buildings already zoned in, which is great for upgrading to asymmetrical roads in the future if needed! Can't wait to watch the rest of the series
keep going. the residential assests look so much better than CS1
continue the series... the city has potential to be awesome.
I really like how you arrange the industry and medium density housing!
please continue, this small town looks lovelly!
definitely more of this build...zoom in, thats what i have learned today :) thank you
taught me so much with this video, hate using the basic grids and you showing the retaining wall changed my entire plan of this city, im so stealing the first road you did, one note i found that there is a ghost terrain under the road that if you are a stickler about the shadow you can make it more level to get rid of the shadow (mostly lol)
Love it! Makes me want to play it now but no time tonight. I’d like to see the series continue on this map. I’d love to see how it progresses. One thing I don’t like which I think they need to update is how dark the shadows are on the motorway from the retailing wall. Hopefully they will make the shadows lighter. It doesn’t look right at the moment. Looking forward to your next one.
Totally agree, it's VERY dark! Thank you!
Yeah the shadow on the cut & fill road looks broken. I saw a temporary work around which is to turn off terrain shadow or something like that under advanced graphics settings.
I enjoyed the video keep up the great work
Keep building on this map, would love to see how far it grows.
Been looking for a CS2 play through just like this! Hope the series continues. ❤
Thank you and yes it’s continuing, new ep out today!
Great work 👏
Please keep it up.
Your city is really beautiful ❤ love the landscaping alot.
Few Jersey, for sure!
Just found your channel, I haven't brought this game yet as I am waiting for optimisation. I love how you explain things, definately a new sub from me! Can't wait for more of this city!
Ahh thank you! Welcome to the channel 😄
I don´t mind the smokestacks. But.. in most fairly new industries. The smokestacks are there for heating. Its really very few process industries that have smokestacks, and the one that does, don´t make visible smoke.
So the smokestacks should really only be on at winter when heating is needed.
With that, before electrification the smokestacks was for the steam engines, but those was typically not used after electricity was there.
You make the most beautiful cities :)
I vote series
Know I'm a bit late, but just wanted to say thank you for this video. Really wanted to start on this map, but the topography had me a bit nervous. Seeing someone else make it work is giving me the will to give it a go.
This came out really nice! I started with this map. I think I need to restart my city 😅
Beautiful city. Thanks. I love it.
And
Thanks, best song, it 13:55 😊
Thank you! And glad you liked that song, was worried it was a bit much haha!
Love it!!!
thank you i was mass zoning and your video helped me see how to play better.
I think this turned out really nice and definitely agree about trimming down the amount of orange trees. I wouldn’t mind seeing this city continuing to grow and would also be curious to see you attempt a downtown with skyscrapers but using the levels of heights with key roads and the cut and fill to make a multi tiered financial district. Maybe less realistic but would be cool to see.
Hey, first time viewing your channel. I really enjoyed watching this & will be checking out more of your videos for sure! I learned a lot from this video as a new CS player, much of it about zoning and general aesthetics. +1 sub 👍
Yes please! Would love to see you continue to build in vanilla CS2!!
