  • In this video we cover a time when Leia's anger boiled to a point where it caused her to relate to her biological father, Anakin Skywalker, in a way she had never done before.

It's pretty ironic that Leia is the one who hates her father and yet is the most like him.

It’s really another trait she picked up from anakin which was holding a deep hatred for someone who took something from them anakin hated dooku for the loss of his arm vader hated obi wan for crippling him and vader/anakin hated palpatine for taking everything from him with a false promise

It’s not the first time that we know that Leia is everything but perfect but this is new. She really could have gone as dark as she potentially could get or could have gotten and be an outcast

The way I always saw it? Leia embodies more of her father than luke did while Luke embodied more of his mother...
Yes, both share qualities with anakin, but Luke was always established as this soft hearted and emotional character who cared for everyone he met...
While leia always had a fiery temper who at times rushed too quickly to judge but still had a commanding presence.
Which, one could also argue both still embody anakin I'm those senses...
Luke could simply be embodying anakins compassion while leia embodied his ambition

And yet somehow Yoda was still afraid to train Luke and do Leia instead. Luke had too much of his father in him.

We got glimpses of her powers emerging in the original trilogy. In ep 5 and 6 she is able to sense Luke’s presence, first when Luke called to her on cloud city and then on Endor when she was able to sense that Luke was still alive after the second Death Star blew up. Luke tells her that she has the same power as him and that he will teach her. Leia then became his apprentice after return of the Jedi. He taught her everything he knew and on the last night of her training they sparred with their sabers as her final test. She sadly decided to walk away from being a active Jedi after her vision of darkness surrounding her unborn sons future and it’s connection to her Jedi path. Also she felt that the new republic was not taking the threat of the Empire returning seriously and that the galaxy needed her skills as a senator and general more. We see her use the force in ep 7,8 and 9. She’s feels the death of her husband, she senses the presence of her son right before her near death experience being sucked into space and force pulling herself to safety. She then takes on the responsibility of Jedi master to train Rey for over a year on the same planet Leia herself was trained by Luke. Her last act was force projecting herself to reach out to the good she felt was still in her son. I really wish we could of seen more of her using the force in the films but maybe they can show that in a show like how they did with clone wars. She definitely got more action as a Jedi in the old expanded universe like in the Dark Empire story from the 90s, which heavily influenced episode 9 such as the palpatine clones etc.

Most of the Star War fans knew she was the strong one in the force! Anakin lost his mother because he didn't know enough about the force to put life back in her. Yoda, didn't use the force to save her either. He was lied to by both sides!

Ben's redemption allowed Leia to better understand her father through her son. And something similar could be said for Han. Because Leia was not able to forgive Anakin and never knew him like Luke did, Ben's redemption built that bridge for them.
