â€ïžCARAMEL PECAN ROLLS ARE SERVED!
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 26. 12. 2021
- Welcome to my kitchen, my family and our life loving and learning together in rural Wisconsin.
Caramel Pecan Rolls
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 cup warm water (105-115 degrees)
1\4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. softened butter
1 egg
3 1\4 - 3 1\2 cups flour (I use bread flour)
1\3 cup melted butter
1\2 cup packed brown sugar
1 Tbsp. corn syrup
2\3 cup pecan halves
1\2 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
In mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in next 4 ingredients. Add 2 cups flour and beat until smooth. Work in remaining flour until dough is easy to handle. Place greased side up in greased bowl; cover tightly. Refrigerate overnight or up to 4 or 5 days.
Combine melted butter, brown sugar, syrup and pecans. Pour into greased 9x13 pan. Combine sugar and cinnamon. On floured board, roll dough into 15x9 inch rectangle. Spread with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar-cinnamon. Roll up tightly. Seal edge well. Cut into 15 (1 inch) slices and place in prepared pan. Cover; let rise in warm place until double, about 1.5 hours. Heat oven to 375 degrees and bake 25-30 minutes. Invert on serving platter. Remove baking pan after a few minutes. Serve warm. Makes 15 rolls (about 3 servings đ)

Hi friends! I'm Jennifer, a forty-something wife and mother of 7 children ages 7 - 23. We are Catholic. We homeschool. We cook from scratch. We farm cranberries. We drink coffee. We advocate for Down syndrome awareness. We are loud. We are chaotic.
Here I'll share vlogs about all these things, what I'm doing that works and what I've tried but didn't work. I hope to encourage you in your journey through motherhood, homeschooling, learning to cook, and growing in your faith through it all.

Time4Learning is working great for us this year!!
www.time4learn...
I could eat that whole pan of Carmel rolls yummy. I'm 56 and a Grandma.
All your hard work and waiting for these caramel rolls was worth it :) glad Warren enjoyed them!
Wow the pecan caramel rolls looked scrumptious!! Warren was so thoughtful to take that broken piece so it didn't have to sit there all alone. He's always doing nice things like that lol. Great vlog
Great Video! Tree looks pretty, real old fashion! đâ€ïžđ
Jennifer the rolls look delicious you are a great cook and baker
Love the real tree! Joe is so sweet with the kitty! And its so nice to see a little girl being a little girl and playing with Dollys!!! You have a beautiful family and family life!!!
You look amazing ! Thank you for always sharing
Jennifer, you Know that making Warrens childhood dishes is a connection to his memories of his children and mother. When you lose a parent, everything means more.
On the pepper flakes, do you have a Mexican spice section in your stores? They have full dried red chiles.
What delicious looking pecan rolls. I really enjoyed walking in the snow with you and Joe this morning. Thank you for sharing your day with us.
Your pecan rolls looked so good. They looked light and fluffy
Commenting just as I begin watching⊠but I wanted you to know how much I look forward to your videos. As a homeschooling mom of 2, struggling to a balance everything, youâre a huge inspiration to me and I thank you so much for sharing your life with us! With warm wishes for wonderful, happy and healthy New Year, Kimberly from Philadelphia â„ïž
I hope you're enjoying a Christmas break from homeschooling. It always rejuvenates me and makes the new year start out great.
Prayerfully one day in this lifetime Iâll get to see real snow in person. Love your videos especially when itâs winter.
How sweet little sis reading to big brother...0h my â€
I always have some turkey or chicken for my youngest because some kind of meats he does not like and I like him to have some meat so it's been a nice idea for anyone who has kids that are finicky it's a great idea to have options especially when it is a protein dish. He doesn't like a lot of beef types of meat my other kids didn't like meat till later so maybe he is the same way. At least he loves vegetables even lettuce so I am grateful for that! Thanks for sharing you're thoughts and life I love all you do and keep up the great work!
I just received my cookbook! Yay! I'm SO excited!! I have some Wisconsin in my Texas home!! Can't wait to try out some recipes! Thank you Jennifer!
JoAnn I also just got my cookbook and I love it . she done a lovely job putting it together and so well made . I also will have some Wisconsin in my Mississippi Kitchen .. I can't wait to start cooking with it .
Love being allowed to spend time with your beautiful family! Brings back so many great memories of when we homeschooled. For us I found that I had to set aside time for homeschooling or it became too pieced together. We did three hours every morning, allowing myself and the kids time for chores first, and made no appointments etc during that time. It was so much easier to find time to finish things later in the day once we had a good start in the morning, and thankfully all of our co-op classes were in the afternoons. Thank you for showing how it can be done differently, thatâs the beauty of homeschooling. Blessings for the new year!
Ooh, Jennifer the caramel rolls look scrumptious! Warren was eating them and I could taste themđđ
Hi Jennifer it's fiorella from Toronto I just want to see what an amazing beautiful woman you are you have a beautiful family your children are beautiful and handsome and I love the way you cook my son is a hunter and my husband is a hunter and I watch the way you use your deer meat and I do the same thing and watching your morning routine and the foundation that you use I actually went to go buy it because the reviews were so high and it's a very good foundation and the tip that you gave about wearing a light color on your eye and putting the eyeliner that opens up your eye that is so true thank you so much for sharing that God bless you and your family â€ïž
You incorporating my tips into your day is the best part of CZcams. I love learning from great tips from my CZcams friends, too.
Oooooo, those caramel rolls look fabulous! What beautiful property you live on, all the trees and the snow, gorgeous!
Thank you so much for all the love, grace, and work you put into your videos! You are a wonderful companion during my normal day to day activities, but especially so when I am feeling under the weather and taking a day to recover. (I have the greatest husband who is taking care of the kids and home!) I recently received your cookbook and have read it cover to cover. I cannot wait to feel better to get cooking! Edited to add: I am so impressed that you wear a white sweater while cooking/baking! I would have that ruined quick as a wink! Wishing you blessings in the new year! Smiles, Abby Smith
I pray you recover quickly and get to enjoy some time in the kitchen again.
You look very pretty in Christmassy with your sweater and your scarf on and lipstick
Such good advice about the baby clothes. Pecan rolls look fab.
I totally agree with the neutral snow gear!! I donât think Iâve ever paid more than five dollars for snow pants or snow bibs for my kids because I find them off-season at thrift and consignment stores and at garage sales. I usually pay between $.50 and two dollars a pair!! I always seem to find blue and black but my girls donât mind because theyâre warm in the winter! LOL! Now my grandsons are getting to wear the blue and black ones that my girls wore. :)
Hey JenđđŒ I have to say those cinnamon rolls came out beautiful! I think Warren really liked themđ€Ł. I love that Joe was lifting weights. Tell him~the old Souper at 60 lady needs to join him~heâs my inspiration đđ». Iâm just sitting here now looking thru your cookbook at the English Muffins. I love them homemade. Lord bless, Darlene
Hi Darlene, I want to first tell you how beautiful "The First Noel" song was. Seeing you play with your son inspired me to pull out my violin (Sam uses it now) and Warren and I played a few Christmas carols together for my mom. He plays the guitar. We're bracing for an afternoon snowstorm and gathering a pile of books to read under a pile of blankets. I've found my first recipe for our collab and I'm looking forward to it.
Oh Iâm so happy. That made me cry. Your dear sweet mom. I love when sheâs on your videos. Iâm certain she just loved your music. Yes, Iâm very excited as well about the collaboration. Did you give me a date? Hope you made it thru the snow today. Maybe itâs still snowing?!?! I wish weâd get some here. Lord bless, Darlene
Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Prosperous New Year, to A Country Life Family. God Bless. Love you all! xxoo
39 years ago when i was pregnant i wanted a caremel pecan roll everyday. The bakery at the grocery store had good ones. I hate to think how many i ate during those 9 months. Cant say i have had any since she was born. yours looked yummy
Sugar is black! Lol Carmel rolls look wonderful! I would have put some of that frosting on those too! Our entire family had gotten Covid on Thanksgiving and having a late Christmas. I am just getting up my tree (like your daughterâs) today and celebrating in January. Panda Express is in Wausau? Love Chinese! The pine cones give some natural decorations! â€ïž I live in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and am very familiar with the cranberry marshes as we have friends that run a marsh in 3 Lakes. As I watch your videos I can see we do some very similar things! Maybe itâs growing up in Wisconsin and our parents did and taught us some very similar things! Enjoy watching your family grow and Joe has very special place in my heart! Iâm a grandma of 3. One 3 year old boy and 1 year old twin girls! They have stolen my heart â€ïž My daughter is now pregnant with #4 grand baby! She will have 4 children under the age of 3 by April! Iâm excited! Glad to have watched your channel for a couple years now! You have a great family and enjoy your country life! Blessings to you and yours! Iâm almost 60 so I have a few years on you! Your a busy MaMa!
â€â€â€
Great video sweetie! The special dinner for Warren looked great!!
I love your videos. Have a great Christmad all of you.
Nancy in Onrario, Canada.đđđđđđđ
Thank you so much!
Looks delicious
Very nice amazing and incredible view love from Indiađźđł
Yay! A video from you, showing your beautiful tree! Those caramel rolls looked delicious! So did the oriental food! Wow! Youâre like super mom and your husband is like Super dad!
Of, joe, go! Direct away! How fun!
I hope yâall had a wonderful Christmas.
I so love your videos.
Great advice to new mothers, by the way, of neutral colors for wi Ted clothing. Iâm all for be8ng practical, and alway have been.
Keep on sharing with us! Thank you
Always learn something from your videos.
Thank you for your kindness. Weâre regular people and have our days. Lucky for me itâs usually not the days Iâm filming.
Sorry for the typos...spellcheck snd I didnât look.
Really enjoyed the video,as I ALWAYS do! Those rolls looked DE-LI-CIOUS!đ That was a Beautiful view as you and Joe were outside!âïž Thank you so much for sharing your day with us! Happy Holidays!đđđ
Jen those rolls looked So dilish
Those rolls look amazing! A good way to help yeast bread/rolls to rise when the house is a little cool is to place them in the oven and turn on the light. The heat from that light in the small space is just about ideal.
Yum! Those caramel pecan rolls looks so delicious!!
Love all your videos
Oh those look so yummy!
We live about an hour away from a military base on the West Coast. We see so many military planes and helicopters! We often see five Chinook helicopters flying in formation! That is quite a sight and sound and sometimes theyâre so close that you can see the people in the helicopter! The whole house shakes!
The taste of something from your childhood always warms my soul
Brown sugar in Chinese sauces is very common...maybe that would of helped?
Merry Christmas Jennifer and to the family â€
Iâm glad you include food that you wouldnât cook again!!!
I was just watching some of your other vids. Both my husband and I are enjoying them. Your family is very sweet! All your food looks great too. Especially the venison.
Hi there and welcome!! Have a wonderful night.
Your rolls look so delicious Jennifer. All that snow! Our temperatures this week are getting to 16. Great at the moment as hopefully the winter will be shorter. đ„°đŹđ§âš
Hi! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family! I was so excited to get your cookbook before Christmas! We made your 50 cent pieces and they were a huge hit! For your sauce, it probably meant sweet chili sauce in the Asian aisle, not our american chili sauce. That probably would have offset the sharpness from the vinegar and balanced it. I love Chinese food, we cook it frequently :) I hope you try again! It is so easy to do and so much cheaper than getting to-go for large families. â€
Thatâs a great tip. Iâll have to look for that kind of chili sauce at the store. Do you have any favorite recipes you can share or link to?
@@acountrylife Absolutely! I'll get you some links. My favorites are walnut shrimp (either sauteed or deep fried) and almond chicken. Some places call it boneless chicken. :)
Jennifer, as always, I love watching your videos! You really are awesome...you are strict, yet lax, very go with the flow but making sure everything gets done. You are really awesome! I am on your side with wanting to try new recipes. We are empty nesters now and my husband is good about eating my new experiments, but he would rather me stick to the tried and true..just like your family! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!!!
Charlotte from Ky.đ
The rolls looka GREAT!!!!! I made my first 2 loaves of yeast breaad the other day. My sister was telling my I could make cinnamon rolls with the dough and now you are showing a recipe to prove it!!!! Your tree is beautiful just the way it is!!!!!! Your family is precious!!!!!!!
I just find your videos relaxing and enjoy watching them while having my morning cup of coffee in Michigan. The Carmel rolls looked great, but I don't eat carbs or sugar...
My mom often bought neutral snow-gear (I remember mostly when it came to snowpants) so that my brother could have them after me!
Wow, I hear ya on the homeschool time thing .It can be frustrating.
Beautiful tree
Thank you so much đ
I used to make kung Pao chicken so good
I usually raise mine on top of stove as it preheats. Our last cinnamon buns went crazy.
Probably got demographic spot on,my first view, my daughters are 14 and almost 16 now.. we live in northern Sweden, have about same snow level as you right now. Boooo we need more!
Welcome! I'm so glad to have an international friend here.
That is a beautiful tree! I love it!! The pecan rolls look phenomenal! I must make these!! Thank you for the recipe!!! Where did the glass mixing bowls come from? I need some and Iâm liking those.
They are Pyrex. I have a set of multiple sizes. I often link them in the description.
Thia red chilles at a Mexican market hun that's where I find mine
Charlotte from Ky.
Those rolls looked super delicious!
I received my cookbook today. It will be my new novel đ
Enjoy!!
The caramel rolls look delicious. Too bad the kung pao didn't taste how you wanted. They sell the Panda Express Kung Pao sauce at our Wal-Mart, maybe they sell it there too? Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
For the Kung Pao try hoisin sauce instead of chili sauce if you want a bit sweeter
Rolls look fabulous! I would put pecan mixture in muffin tins and place a roll in each. AND, You are too too funny! Book can be too long and descriptive? đâ€
đI totally get what you were explaining about homeschool "routines". I finally got it through my thick head about 3 years into homeschooling that there is no such thing as a set routine. Sickness, appointments, as you said one kid doing math another deep into history, oh yikes! Now it's time to get lunch going, how about let's read after lunch kids? Oh? Yes, I did forget you need to work on your co-op science project. Tell you what, let's do reading real quick, it'll only take about 45 mins, then you can work on science the rest of the afternoon! Yes, it was constantly thinking on my feet, but boy do I miss it!â€
I knew there would be like minded moms watching. Have a great night.
@@acountrylife Yes ma'am! You have a good night too, love from GA.â€
Everything looks delicious as usual. Thank you for sharing. Time to add more peppers in your garden to save for these months :) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Tom is excited for me to make his Aunt Von's Caramel Pecan Rolls! :)
as a 23 year old mom and wife buying as much neutral clothing as you can has been the best advice! they grow so quickly they wear nothing out especially winter clothes here in Middle TN!
Yummy
You are a very good cook! I always enjoy watching your channel. I have tried recipes that didn't work out also, I just don't make them again.
Thank you Tammy.
If you're baking anything, you can sit the rolls on top of your stove and they will rise quickly too...đ
The rolls look delicious. How is Amber? I miss seeing her. Is she done with school? Hope you all had a very merry Christmas
Hi Jennifer, to proof your pecan rolls, put them in the oven ONLY with its light on, put the rack on top and put the rolls near the light. It should take about 1 hour, then put the rack in the middle, turn the oven on and leave rolls in while it preheat. IT will proof more. Hope this helps.
Jennifer do you ever let dough rise in your oven? My house in winter is around 66-68 so I turn on the oven light and let the dough rise there, works great. Hope y'all had a wonderful Christmas. God Bless.
Sometimes on a very low heat, but my oven light only turns on when the door opens. Thereâs no switch.
Even the pilot tight can heat up thru the top of the stove, Iâve done that. Great vid Iâm gonna make those đđšđŠ
I kept my kids school clothes just for school and bought their play clothes at rummage sales. I told them I didnât care how hard they played or how dirty they got as long as they were in play clothes. They changed as soon as they got off the bus
next time you try to make an asian style dish try the thai sweet chili sauce in place of the regular chili sauce- it gives just a smidge of heat but also gives that sweetness you are missing
Gm happy new year
Try dental floss for quick cinnamon roll cutting/slicing.
You would probably like general tso chicken itâs sweeter !
đ Is bread flour regular flour or something different per your recipe ? Ty!
Next time you need to get something to rise and it's too cold ,run your dryer for a few minutes and put your food in there.
you can probably order red Thai chilie peppers on Amazon. They're delicious.
I put my rolls on a heating pad on low & they rise faster
Super smart!!
Hello!
Look up Molly yeh from food network her Kung po recipe is very good. Just like take out
Maybe a little brown sugar to the sauce??
Doesnât your oven have a proofing setting?
You can add brown sugar
If Warren didnât come in when he did to taste it, thatâs what I was going to add, but he liked it so I didnât mess with it.
I wanted to share with you I don't know if you're familiar with the CZcams channel the purposeful pantry or not you may be I think Darcy has been in a couple collabs with you maybe not. Anyway I thought you might want to check her post from about a week ago she does a lot of dehydrating and she did one about cranberries and the different things she does craisins just dried cranberries and cranberry powder also. Just thought you might be interested if not that's fine too
Thank you. I do watch some of her videos and mustâve missed that one. Iâd love to see it.
@@acountrylife thought you might just want to get the info
When I had my children they didn't do ultrasounds & we never knew if it was a boy or girl so I always bought gender neutral clothing so I was able to use the clothing again for the next child. They grow so fast & never wore out clothing when they were babies.
Why not have your school hours a little more structured if the current set-up isn't working as well as you would like.
Why wouldn't you make the Kung po beef again?
Your family obviously enjoyed it.
Just because you didn't like it is no reason not to make it for your family again.
Do what I do, if I make something either I or someone else doesn't like I make either leftovers or something else.
