At 6:00, when Dr. Peterson asked if there was an Islamic equivalent to idea of the intrinsic value of the human beings and equality among human beings?
Just Google human equality in Islam and here it is in the Hadith and the Quran:
"All humans are descended from Adam and Eve," said Muhammad in his last known public speech. "There is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab, or of a non-Arab over an Arab, and no superiority of a white person over a black person or of a black person over a white person, except on the basis of personal piety and righteousness."
      and
"O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Aware.” Quran 49:13

I don't see the need for bashing and name calling of the guest and refering people to be interviewed out of religious sentiments. It's not a religious discourse but an intellectual one. By the way they're looking at Islam from a cultural and pragmatic perspective, how it has shaped the society and affected people's lives and played out in the real world. They're not discussing statements of doctrines and beliefs in Islam.

Interesting viewpoint: Ali gave the idea that people who enact white guilt, ones who preach that the Western white imperialism and its men is the ONLY one to blame for all ill will befallen unto the others, and that THEY are ONLY ones to absolve it all - that it gives a sense of them wanting to be superior over the others, for only the Westerners know how to do it.
It would actually explain my own encounters with such self-punishing preachers of white guilt; they want to be superior and they can do that in disguise by talking that they must undo all wrongs done to other cultures, and I am from an Inuit origin.
I dislike the preachers of white guilt, now with two major reasons to do so.

I have studied in Canada for a couple of years and it became more and more obvious that preachers of white guilt have some sort of supremacy issue themselves, no matter of which ethnicity they actually were. • @sdgkh09
      @sdgkh09 Před 3 lety +2

If there are rational ways to deal with irrational amount of guilt then there aren't many if any. As far as I can tell, suggestion of accepting the guilt as it is, no matter the amount they think themselves there might be, and letting it be for a while might do it. For any historian will be able to tell that many cultures and civilizations had had conquering cases as the Western world, only having the scale as a difference. All have done mistakes and everyone has lost innocence but rarely ever in everyday situation is it appropriate to deem who is more or most wrong. That should be reserved for actually enacted crimes.

As a muslim I've always accepted the fact that there will always be people attacking the doctrine of Islam. For some it is because they just hate it, for others it is because they don't understand it. Those that do not understand it are of two categories; 1. Are willing to take time to learn before they speak. 2. Will arrogantly speak with words that reek of ignorance and hate. Ayan Hirsi Ali hates Islam mainly because her parents mistreated her and the culture she comes from condones it and she projected that unto Islam and all Muslims. People must understand that Islam under the leadership of Muhammad (pbuh) met people with existing cultures, and some of those cultures were abandoned because they were in direct contradiction to Islam. During the prophet's lifetime he adjudicated between his people, he prophesied about things to come and provided guidelines/rules/laws etc.
According to Ayan she came from a culture that practices Female Genital Mutilation. And was forced to marry against her explicit wishes. And that when she wanted asylum in the US and started insulting/mocking Islam/Muslims that they threatened her.
    1. FGM is definitely a cultural thing. The countries with the highest rate of the practice are mostly African and some if not most of the are not even predominantly Muslim. If you want to convince me that FGM is an Islamic practice the sources have to be the Quran or the Sunnah. If your problem is that your parents even though religious still went against Islam to do this thing then ask how about Muslims that drink alcohol, or adultery? I'm an African too, I'm a Nigerian. I came from a long line of Islamic scholars that traveled all over Africa to preach/settle. When Islam came to Kano for example the people were practicing a version of Islam diluted with their native practices.
    2. In Islam it is forbidden for anyone, male or female to be "forced" into a marriage. But it is not wrong for parents to arrange marriage for their child. But the rule is the daughter can keep saying no until they find the right one or she does. There is a lot of conditions on this and could take too long but let's touch on a few. The man will see a girl and go to her father to seek permission to speak with her. The father will investigate the guy to make sure that he is the kind of man he wants for his daughter, if he finds the man acceptable he will tell the girl. The man will come to her and talk under the supervision of her family member, usually a younger sister/brother to keep both of them honest. After a few such "dates", the father will ask her if she likes him. If she says no then the father will call him and tell him to move on, but if she says yes then the father will ask him to come with his parents. Then his family will investigate her family while her family does the same to his, and if everyone is satisfied the marriage will take place. Now if your father because he doesn't want to lose face for having a daughter like you and he decided o force you, how is that Islam's fault?
    3. So you insult/ridicule almost 2 billion people and you expect them to what? Celebrate and praise you? This is the part I really have an issue with. Anyone else is allowed to protect their lives, lands, honor, and culture except Muslims. If you try anything they brand you a terrorist and kill you or worse detain you in some unknown prison. Ayan I assure you that Islam doesn't need you and muslims know that. But if you want the west to pity you and give you asylum why not attack Somalia and leave Islam alone
To see a psychologist/social commentator providing someone like Ayan a platform to spread these lies and not call her out on them but also giving her this soft but precise questions really humbled me. That you can reach the intellectual caliber and your personal biases will still creep into your actions is truly humbling. And seriously Dr. do some research on Da'awah then come back and explain to us how she can write a whole book on a subject and lie this much about it and still be called a hero?

Bashing Islam because of confusion, lack of understanding and knowledge or blind hate is what I stand against. She can never stand for a second in front of a knowledgeable Muslim. All of her Islam bashing statements can be refuted by a 5 year old with basic knowledge. Her mission is to mislead and gain financially. She can care less about those who end up believing her. Those who want to believe her, but have a bit of intellect, would read the Quran and verify her accusations. People of intellect are sadly rare.

@@mohammedgt8102 man you wrote an book 🤣 im not reading it all but I read up to the part regarding culture and religion and ayaan definitely in her books attributes a lot of her difficulties to Islam where it's pretty clear her families pre Islamic culture and attitudes is also making her miserable. Islam definitely has issues regarding females and their rights, they are always at the mercy off men and that is completly islamic. Have you read her books? I read one and I think muslims would benefit especially men who probably never convert themselves with the lives and happiness of female Muslims

@@fonsalvarado Your analogy is ridiculous. Is Donald Trump and expert in Mexican culture ? Has he study deeply the Mexican religion to the point that he can debate Mexican scholars and defeat them ? Is he an expert at demonstrating the violent nature of the Mexican prophet and the horror he committed during his life ? Is Mexican a religion ? Has Trump demonstrated, using argument, logic and textual analysis, that the foundation of the Mexican metaphysic is flawed and contradictory ? Is Trump responsible for the conversion of hundreds or thousands of Mexicans from “Mexicanism” to Christianity ? How many Mexicans has Trump rescued from Mexicanism ?
