Jordan and Ayaan discuss one of the complex social issues that she investigates within her most recent book "Prey", in particular, the safety of women in public spaces. Ayaan describes an unnerving shift in the landscape of Northern European nations that resembles her youth in nations that are heavily influenced by Islamic culture, where women do not feel safe while interacting in public spaces.

Such an incredibly important message. Its my deepest hope people take this serious so we can come out as a society better having dealt with it forthrightly.

The problem with the extremely wide definition of "sexual harassment" is that it discourages people from making any kind of sexual advance at all. The message to young men is "making any kind of moves on young women is incredibly risky". The message to women is "any sexual advances that are awkward or uncomfortable might be predatory and you should be alarmed."
The result is men who don't know how to make smooth advances and women who don't know how to make smooth rejections. The boomer generation asks "why don't young people date as much?", and women ask "why do I have to drop the guy 10 hints before he'll make a move" 😆

Many years ago SNL did a sketch where a normal guy said hello to a vvonnan in an office while Tom Brady fondled her breast and was wearing underwear.
Of course the normal guy was swxually harassing her and Tom Brady was not.
This is so widely known it is a joke on SNL.

There is no problem with the current sexual harassment laws. Women should make the first move if they want it, and men should sue and ask for help when they are harassed instead of the "man up" tradcon/feminist dogmatic bs narrative

When men ask for help after being criminally abused by a vvonnan he will be attacked by all vvonnen.
Maybe you vvonnen should support men who come forward when they are criminally abused by vvonnen rather than further criminally abusing them.
Just a suggestion. You vvonnen don't act on suggestions by us men just in case you don't know.

How a woman gets treated in public largely depends on what they are wearing as well. You cant walk down the streets in booty shorts and spaghetti straps and not assume that you arnt gonna get sexualized. I would say it's the side effect of this whole " it's my body I'll do with I want with it. " movement.

My ex was very much conservative in her clothing, not like an Amish but not overly sexualized at all. But she was very pretty. Once she proved to me how it was to walk on the street right next to my home. And she was cat-called and harassed by men constantly in less than 10 blocks. I saw it with my own eyes for the first time.
This was invisible for me because it's not part of my experience as a human being. I am not a women, nor a pervert, as most men aren't. So it's very hard to grasp and empathize when you actually rarely get to see it. So I don't think's about clothes at all. I think it's about weak man, that are uncapable to talk to a women as a normal humans, so they abuse their size and streangth to interact with them in the only way they can in order to feel better about themselves and their manhood. Pathetic shit. Weak men doing pathetic shit.
