    The oil level is simply supposed to be in between the upper and lower line, not filled to the top of the line

    • @HardcityRaindrops
      @HardcityRaindrops  Před 2 lety +7

      It supposed to be at the top line my man, if it’s below it’s simply showing you, you are low on oil….but do what you want I keep mine at what’s called the fill line. 👌

      I believe its just a chain clean, lunricate, wax if you want too and then tighten your chain back into specs as needed.

    I missed the part where you put the oil filter back in. I'm assuming before you added the new oil? How tight do you tighten the filter?

    what's the theory of prefilling the filter? same as cars? I stopped prefilling my filters this year because of some interesting points mechanics have made about imperfections being in the new oil, and you're essentially bypassing the filter by prefilling it. i'd imagine the same is the case on bikes, but i'm a bit ignorant of bikes still ( in pretty mechanically inclined though on cars and trucks, having done timing and engine rehauls in my dirt driveway under a tree ). great video for sure though!

    I was looking and saw people talking about there are things the dealer checks that may have been or become loose etc. as a result of the break-in.
    I am also at my 600 mile mark and am curious if you did anything outside of the oil change?

    Hey I just recently purchased a motorcycle. Do you recommend doing the first oil change by the month or mileage. ? It’s really stressing me out lol. Thanks In advance.

    • @dudechuck82
      @dudechuck82 Před 2 lety

      First oil change is at 600 miles for most new bikes. After that, I change mine every spring at the beginning of the riding season. Once a year is fine unless you put on a whole bunch of miles.

    • @morningstoke
      @morningstoke Před 2 lety

      Read the owners manual to your bike. If you don't have a hard copy you should be able to find it online. That will tell you per the manufacturers standards. If you ride a ton you may need to change oil a couple times a year

    • @HardcityRaindrops

      First of all the you would have to be really a terrible rider to drop this bike, it weighs nothing and is very low unless your like 5’3 even then you can still one foot it easy. So I would not get a naked bike on that premise, naked bikes are not as aerodynamic either and do not have a windscreen and then will get annoying unless all your doing is riding casually to work or once a week or so, so if you want more of a street bike I’d stay with the ninja 400. It’s a perfect starter bike. That you can seriously learn how to be a great rider on. All depends on your goals as a rider. If your just a weekend warrior and riding to work go z400, if you want to get serious into this street bike life and learn how to ride hard and fast and a lot go for the Ninja and nothing else.

      The z and the ninja have the same engine but different power bands and gears.. ninja can handle highway speeds better.. plus the wind screen snd fairing just look cooler🤣

    • @insanetharapy6948
      @insanetharapy6948 Před 2 lety +1

      It gets really hot in stop and go traffic, that’s pretty much the big hate about it, and maybe that the handlebars are all one piece so if you crash it’s gonna mess up the whole front end alignment.

    • @The.Profit.Guru.
      @The.Profit.Guru. Před 2 lety

      This is my second bike. My first was a Ninja 300 but I was hit on it and returned to the 400. From my experience, they are very forgiving and a great bike to learn on. Extremely fun on non-highway roads but still manageable on the highway. I'm sensitive as hell but it's treated me well even when windy (learn to counter lean and drag with one leg). I can keep up with higher CC bikes on rides (within my safety level).
      I'd only ask what other bikes are you looking at outside of the 400...
