    Nice haul Tilly. I think that ALOT of us are still waiting on our tomatoes to get ripe. ❤

    we are growing those kind of tiny papers in thr garden, only one has produced any fruits though...
    hope you all happy and doing well 😊 👍

    Going to Lidl tomorrow and have a coupon for 50% off Halloumi for a max of 3 packs. 👍Haven't been able to get a veg box for ages.

      Oh I do love a coupon, I'd definitely be using that one! 😃 A few people have mentioned they can't get the veg boxes, it's such a shame they aren't more readily available.

    Yes we rely on the TGTG £1:50 boxes , and very often they are varied and splendid. We have enough to share with a family of 8 too.

  • @sparsh415
    @sparsh415 Před rokem +2

    Those £1-50 boxes are a bargain I just hope the selfish people don`t spoil it. One thing i`m doing which saves money is switching to vegetarian dishes. I`m trying a chickpea,spinach and potato curry in the slow cooker next week. The Indians have loads of veggie dishes but they`re packed full of flavour. 🙂

    I find it hard commenting on prices at other British channels because the comments come back that the US income is so much more and that most of have food subsidized, which we do not; it is being cut back.
    I will let you know that celery is suddenly 1.96 GBP per stalk (bunch) now, and IF we can find the digestives, they run 3.13 GBP. Our yogurts are more than twice the price, as is the balsamic vinegar. Don't get me started on the price of baby tomatoes!

    • @rootofavalon3841
      @rootofavalon3841  Před rokem +1

      Oh my word, with those prices I would really struggle to feed my family, so I'm sure there will be a lot of people in the US struggling!
      I find your comments fascinating so please keep letting us know about the comparisons!

    • @Aidan1444
      @Aidan1444 Před rokem

      Part of the reason is because the UK is a small country, yet we have quite a few large food retailers here all competing with each other to get the biggest customer share so the prices remain low. The British people wouldn't stand for those US prices - no chance!

    • @tonette6592
      @tonette6592 Před rokem

      @@Aidan1444 IN cities, there is a LOT of competition, several national retail chains, several local and a few semi-independent. Our country is trying to bring the people to their knees, destroying food and shipping most of our grain to China.

      @@rootofavalon3841 Many really ARE struggling, and not making it,Tilly. Many have to choose between rent and eating.Many people are eating once a day. Children eat at school or not at all some days and not all school systems feed their students. It is going to be very bad very soon.

    New here 😃. I love that you have a veg box option in the UK, we don’t have that option available here in the Northeast USA but we do try a garden every year; sometimes it’s great and sometimes not. Looking forward to more videos ❤️
