    Didn't know the connector has to be fitted all the way up! I thought the connector was faulty before I saw this video. Thank you so much!

  • @kidsstuff-artscraftscartoo7732

    Makes it look easy for trying doing this when you got imperial tap and metric hose just won’t fit it’s a pain in the arse
    He has all the best connections setup but in reality people have all different connections.

    • @AccessMinigreenhouse
      @AccessMinigreenhouse Před 2 lety

      Generally all UK garden taps are imperial 1/2" taps. These have a 1/2" BSP thread at the back where the water comes in and a 3/4" thread on the outlet where the hose fitting connects.

    My wife wanted to send the whole hose to landfill and buy a new one. Couldn't for the life of me figure out the feature at 1:00 on my own. You've just saved us a hose and £30, thanks!

    I've fitted my connector as shown but the non-return valve doesn't allow much water through. I don't know where I am going worng.

    • @AccessirrigationCoUk1
      @AccessirrigationCoUk1  Před rokem

      That is one disadvantage with the non-return connectors, as they plunger restricts the flow. There is not much you can do about it I am afraid.

    Water won't come out when I connect the brass to it. Is there a lock or something?

  • @nivekvb
    @nivekvb Před 3 lety

    My mate put a brass connector on my tap, but my Nozzle was a plastic Hozelock type which came with a plastic tap connector. The plastic Hozelock Nozzle fits the brass tap connector okay. I guess both types are as good as each other.

    Could you tell me what's the price
    of a hose connector like this?
    I have a potable washing machine and the hose connector seems to have worn off since it linking and it doesn't get locked well and falls of very easily with the water pressure.
    A plumper wants me to pay him $25 for the hose connector and $65 for service charge 😞
    Can the change it myself?

      Here is a link to the website: www.garden-products.co.uk/catalogue/browse/brass-hose-fittings
      However, all of our fittings are BSP thread type, which work in the UK, Europe and many commonwealth countries.

    Don't understand - what did you say, "nip that up"? Please forgive me I'm clueless about these types of things. You said it very quickly and I'm not sure what you meant? "A rubber seal?"

    sir purchased the same products
    ...in starting both the male.female connecter join easily and smoothly without .any effort but after 6 to 7 months of use these connecter became rigid and easily not fitting in each other until some adjustment has to be done
    there is no leakeage problem earlier and not prsently....but some rigidness came now
    ..is there is any solution such as cleaning greasing or any other method....plz suggest..

      WD-40 or similar is great for the ball bearings and the stainless steel spring, it also helps reduce the limescale in hard water areas - just squirt some inside the fitting. For the rubber seal Petroleum Jelly (such as Vaseline) keeps the seal lubricated.

  • @peterowens290
    @peterowens290 Před 8 lety +1

    Everything depends upon the plastic teeth doing the job. I can't see this as anything other than a design weakness. Also you will need a good quality hose so that the hose walls do not yield.

    • @AccessirrigationCoUk1
      @AccessirrigationCoUk1  Před 6 lety +1

      The plastic teeth are nylon, which is a hard plastic. As the teeth have to dig into the plastic hose, if metal teeth were used, they would damage the hose. The hose does need to be a good quality hose, and should have enough thickness of material to allow the teeth to dig-in. As the metal ring on the outside is tightened, it exerts pressure onto the teeth to push them into the hose.
