Hi are you using glue on the joints ??thanks
The replacement tap does not end up vertical but horizontal. What is the best way to rectify this?
I had no idea Simon Le Bon was a plumber in his spare time! Great tutorial Simon, thanks đ
Deploy the go outdoor cover
Great job mate, does this work on ceilings too? Planning on putting one on the ceiling in my daughters room and turning it on to wake her up for school.
I'm not sure that would adhere to the by-laws.
You spoil your daughters too much... Mine get a glass of cold water to the face...
@@demonnet you spoil your daughter too much mine gets a slap to the face đ
@@ozzyefc44 you spoil your daughter too much mine gets a spit on her face
I used to use a spray bottle to get my son out of bedđ
So its important to always bang your head on the sink both entering and leaving, and set your hair on fire as you work under the sink, and leave one joint half-soldered because your phone rings half way through. Turning off the mains water first can help if you remember... and though the cables usually go downwards that electric socket will be the exception and you will go through the cables sure as butter. Oh and by the way drilling those pilot holes for the tap base will surely snap a bit off the brick and you'll get no plug in there..or the second of three either so its a risky single-screw by the look of it. Then her husband will come down ..working from home he is two days a week ( in building control) and suggests you're taking a long time for a simple tap, haha ha.
It's changed since then the water is on grey elbow and not on the silver chain mail which I had to used flat soul to stop the water to connect the extension to the waterfall which I put at the curb aka put your mouth on the curb đ
I get serious Bradley Walsh vibes from this guy. Thanks for expertise. :)
Glad to see you guys all still loving this video! If you can please follow me over on Instagram where I post your plumbing photos and videos, thanks! www.plumberparts.co.uk/social.php?social=Instagram
great vid' mate... Could I use push-fits instead?
Nice one for these legendary videos! As a newly qualified plumber they really help. And congrats on your wedding.. Holdtight!!
You are supposed to sleeve the pipe through the cavity in case it gets damaged via frost or debris falling down the cavity causing a leak in the cavity which can cause a lot of damage if you have insulation in there and you wonât know until itâs to late
Yes, but he installed this under a window board!
Very good video! You are very enthusiastic and funny, which makes people enjoy watching your tutorials!
Some great tips. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. :)

Hi John , The way you work looks like a plumbing job is so simple and easy. Well done !
It's James - wrong disciple
Spent 2 hours watching your videos.
Just finished a diploma in level 3 plumbing and these tips will be useful, Thanks and subscribed.
Awesome!!! Thank you so much. You made it look so easy; I think even I could do it.
Flipping loved this video... laughed so much!! Great tutorial too. Boom !
Congrats on your wedding mate :) Enjoying these videos.
Water byelaws require a sleeve to be fitted over the pipe and through the wall cavity. I use plastic overflow pipe for this and the drill diameter is 22mm. It's also easier to fit the tap first to the wall plate and then fit it to the wall before screwing it. That way it's guaranteed to be straight.
Great video, well presented & fun!
Thanks for the info mate, just replaced a pants diy kit , with copper I used compression joints and joint compound instead of the proâs soldering joints , one happy bunny đ°
Would love to see you do a video about stopping these from leaking out the top. Everyone always have issues a few years after installation with leaking. Hopefully it's a quick fix đ
Great job excellent instruction!
Fantastic really helpful. Keep them coming đ
Good video - superb example of its kind.
An outside tap is best connected to the household cold water supply.
Non-return check valves are a legal obligation.
Cheers mate!
DIY advice and stand up comedy in one lol. Thanks mate!
Congrats on the marriage and what a handy video cheers
I wasn't sure about this guy until he started making faces^^ Top bloke.

+Craig Sanderson It can happen to any of us!
+plumberparts here's what happened I was all geared up to do my outside tap thinking it can't be that hard watched your vid and thought ah no blowtorch no solder non of that stuff you brushed on so looked into it seen the self cutting ones but I thought they looked poo, poor pressure and where does the bit of metal go? so I passed and got a guy in, ÂŁ40 not bad I thought. when he'd finished "did you solder that?"
"Naaaaa you can use pressure fittings"
*Jaw dropped, eyes rolled
are they as good as your way of doing it?
pretty much yh if they leak just tighten them

Hi, love your videos. What do you think is the best way to have a hot and cold water feed outside? Ideally it will be mixed. Many thanks!
Gratz man!
Hey, I love your videos! I'm also a plumber but I work giving advice only at B&Q. I imagine your audience will most likely be apprentices and DIY enthusiasts. The all in one kit that DIY retailers sell aren't too bad but I agree, you can't beat hard pipe because hoses naturally degrade over time. Doing what I do at B&Q I know what the most common advice DIYers are looking for, would love to have a chat to help you reach a wider audience. Then I can tell customers where to get a video tutorial!
So you work in B n Q bro. Cool story
A plumber who stacks shelves at B n Q......... Said no one ever. Hahahaha what a pipe. Mind the pun
Nice video dude.
hi..good work mate...question...i need a garden tap but the kitchen is at the front of the house(mid terrace)..what will be the best way to get some water at the back garden?cheers
Congrats on your wedding, great video. Is there a specific kit you can buy with all parts included? Gary
What size drill bit did you use? Thanks
Congrats love watching best wishes from Ireland.
Hi. Thanks your serious videos, I feel I need to take my life more seriously. Thanks for posting this video. I was looking to 'extend' the outside tap which is in the same position outside on your videos, to, a point 10m away in the garden. The tap will be used for the new garden vegetable area. Any suggestions? As always, thx
Mate you make soldering look so easy it defineltly isn't so easy lol any tips or videos you got?
We've just fitted a new kitchen faucet. Previously we had the Hozelock tap adaptor for the former faucet. As of the new tap I don't want to ruin it by constantly fitting and removing another tap adaptor (it's what buggered up the previous tap). I need an outside tap - but we are not competent enough to do this job :/ I need hot water for outside though. How does that become possible with an outside tap? (??). Sorry to sound dumb - these things are not my forte! Thanks for any help!
Bad boy. You are supposed to sleeve the 15mm pipe with a 22mm one to comply with water regs 1999. Nice video as always
I done that in college. Its actually fun!
Well done mate!
Bloody great! đ
Another good man bites the dust. You'll learn. :)
cheers, usefull advise
Hi, I'm looking to add a tap to the front of my house, can I take a feed from the blue mains that's in the floor cavity??
Great video m8 thanks , my question is ...... is the procedure the same for a modern style timber framed house ??

I am looking to be self employed as a plumber love your videos
Don't bother mate....... f..kn nightmare.
Do you have a video for outside hot water tap? A lot of people looking for them over the summer for paddling pools, pets etc
Love all the negative comments!! Great vid love them will be fitting another one this week. Holding tight!!!!!
Nice vid. How do I know which copper pipe I should plug into? Thanks bro.

Hi my external tap had just stopped working, I have a new build and the tap came with the house, is it still the regulations that you can use a check valve built into the tap or will it be located somewhere else in the system? Thanks any help would be appreciated
I love this guy! Lol
Very good
Hi I have a question, Our townhouse complex of 50 units did this.. Water Meters had to be removed to protect the geysers.
The existing installation has one pressure Reducing Valve per two residential units.
This has to be changed to place a Pressure Reducing Valve in every individual feed to each unit, then place the Water Meters upstream of each Pressure Reducing Valve. Do we need to add the additional Pressure reducing Valves?
Hi. Is it the same for installing hot water tap?
Hi what would you recommend for my rather he has a terraced house and wants a tap out the back but kitchen and bathroom are towards the front of house what would you advise ? I'm happy to do it for him but thinking if best practice to follow ? Thanks
Hello: I have a 3/4 brass stopcock under my sink which is the feed/supply for the house which has been in about 40 years and is now reluctant to turn either way...can I still buy a replacement head for this unit please which I think would be the easiest option. Thank you.
Have exactly same set up, but come out at front of house, thinking of running around side of house to back, what size pipe should I use?
You get me with your craziness, 'cause I'm the same, peace
I am looking to install an outside tap but the pipe work runs just below the worktop surface next to the sink cabinet and behind the washer, instead of low down like in your video. Then the hot and cold for the washer T's off vertically downwards each of these horizontal pipes. Would it be possible to swap out the standard washing machine valve and replace it with a brass appliance tee, using the spare connection for the tap instead of say a dishwasher??
Can this process be done for hot water as well ? (ie for filling a paddling pool)
Definitely Berlin was so crazy because you can not remember how many night did you stay.
By the way, Have you been going to the gym? you look so fit!!
Cheers!
Awesome job how much should i expect to pay for that same job thanks
Excellant!
can you connect outside tap kit to hot water pipe under sink if not why lease thanks michael
Hi mate
Love the videos can you please recommend a plumber that could install an outside tap for me , i live in the Hillingdon Middlesex area
And any idea of what the cost could be to please ?
Kindest Regards
Dave
Lmfao summer of love....nice vid very entertaining
Hi.
Wonder if you can help. I live in an apartment & I have a blocked 4 inch metal down pipe, it has what I can only think us a 'service plate' on it & I'm sure that's where the block is as water doesn't go down it, it just goes past & to my bath/basin, the 'service plate' is rusted
I have a problem with outside tap bought off ebay to replace one with bottom entry. When I screw tap into new base plate the tap points upward should there be a washer please ?
Is it best to get a non return valve tap if using a pressure washer?
The tap outside need to be protect during the winter? how the tap behaviour during the winter?
I wish I watched this a week ago, I just fitted a a tap just like this, I put the tap into the wall mount and did it up tight, then pushed it through the wall and marked the holes so the tap was straight, the holes didn't end up lining up and my tap is now slightly off straight. Maybe I'll remove the tap use lock tight thread and refit
Haha - I'm here watching this video, because while my taps (Put a hot water one too) ended up straight I had real aggro getting them straight and water tight prior to fitting. I figured I MUST have done it wrong - and apparently here's the answer! At least I know what to do if one starts weeping
So aint that valve gonna crack when the water freeze in the winter? It just doesn't look like it can be drained.
Super fun to watch them videos! Thanks!
He Ka Should be fine. Although you can buy special shrouds for valves like that one. PP!
can you help please ? i have connected a self cutting tap into a 15mm cold water supply pipe to install an outdoor tap but when i turn on the self cutting tap water flows out then it suddenly just stops flowing, its kind of like something is stopping it flowing properly. would you suggest that i use compression fit instead of self cutting tap ? thank you..
I often wonder as a plumber especially when you go to other countries, do you check how the locals plumb their pipes/taps etc?
Any chance you can link and list what you used for this install please
Hi Iâve got a 22mm mains pipe which I want to add an outside tap to, can I use a pipe cutter to the main pipe rather than cutting into it to create a t-bar?? If this is ok could you allow me the correct cutter into the pipe please? Thanks.
I read quite a few places to put the copper pipe inside a plastic pipe (slightly larger) as brick can corrode copper if left bare? Is that true or abit OTT
Great vid, thanks. How about if the feed is from a boiler? My sink unfortunately is on the other side of the kitchen (not attached to outside wall). If I do manage to use the boiler feed, will this mess up my boiler performance?
No it will not cause a problem as long as you debour the pipes
What pieces would i need to run a tap straight from my washing machine valve? Please let me know
