Pokémon Go is a 2016 augmented reality (AR) mobile game developed and published by Niantic in collaboration with The Pokémon Company for iOS and Android devices. A part of the Pokémon franchise, the game is the result of a collaboration between Niantic, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. It uses the mobile device GPS to locate, capture, battle, and train virtual creatures, called Pokémon, which appear as if they are in the player's real-world location. The game is free to play; it uses a freemium business model and supports in-app purchases for additional in-game items. The game launched with around 150 species of Pokémon, which had increased to around 500 by 2019.
Pokémon Go was released to mixed reviews; critics praised the concept, but criticized technical problems. It was one of the most used and profitable mobile apps in 2016, having been downloaded more than 500 million times worldwide by the end of the year. It is credited with popularizing location-based and AR technology, promoting physical activity, and helping local businesses grow due to increased foot traffic. However, it attracted controversy for contributing to accidents and creating public nuisances. Various governments expressed concerns about security, and some countries regulate its use. By early 2019, the game had over a billion global downloads, grossing over $3 billion in revenue. The game also had over 147 million monthly active users as of May 2018. - Hry
Huh. I will never use this and it's too bad that it's as barebones as it is for being in development for 4 years, but I appreciate you showing it off and hope that audience who likes doing snapshots enjoy it!
“It’s in the game” is the most positive thing to be said about it. But it may as well not be for all the use it’s going to get.
Cool but would be even cool if we can take selfies with them too. 🙂
I tried using that new feature, but unfortunately my phone doesn't support AR anymore ever since Niamtic removed the original one. And whenever I tried to take photos of the pokemon I have, all I can get is the white to green gradient background, plus it wouldn't let me take photos of any three pokemon. The only way I can take pictures of pokemon with their background if the pokemon are wild.
so far all I see ppl doing with this new feature is taking pictures 2 voltorbs & a Wiglett or a Aloan Exuguttor
😂 you do messed up now! Ill be back!
5th grade humor
Unlimited remote raids > New AR feature , dope vid Count
💯
unlimited remote raids kinda goes against the idea of pokémon go lol
@@llusix that’s only true if you’re not willing accept that Pokémon go is beyond what it was in 2016
@llusix Right, Then they would have to change the name from Pokémon Go to Pokémon Home
If Niantic ever decided to revert back to unlimited remote raids best believe they will just raise the price of remote passes even higher
Yeah well the new AR feature feels more towards the AR+ with grass. There needs to be slight improvements with Pokémon sizes framed in the new AR but still recognizes as AR+. At this point, ppl want the Regular AR back so that we can fast catch Pokémon more efficiently. 4 years with fewer new features is actually too long and needs more features to add with the new AR.
Niantic should've just focuse polishing the game itself (pvp for instance) in those four years, and those unfinished features they gave us. Very few people give a crap about AR.
It looks good when you turn off the reality blending as it really messes glitches a lot. I used to interact with my buddy to add pokemon to random photos that I send to friends, it's going to make it a bit better, it's not a lot. I'm sure they didn't work on it for 4 years tho haha
It's definitely one of those things that work well on high end devices only. It works smooth and really well on my base iP 15 but I've seen it struggle with some lower end android phones, but that's probably due to how cameras are handled there, which is unfortunate :/
Thanks for the tip!
The feature where it tries to make your Pokémon appear to be behind another object that’s closer to the camera is optional and can be turned off. I turned mine off because it’s way too strange to look at.
It doesn't work on my phone 😿😿😿
I tried. I want to put my favorites in a group picture. I can't. They needed to scale the the mons WAY down. Like I want to do one of my favorite families... BACON: Mamoswine, Piloswine, Swinub... against some bacon. Impossible. Maybe if you like the smallest ones the pictures MIGHT work, but if you like large mons, FORGET IT. Just another Niantic fail really.
I mean they could have brought back AR battling back that was cool the first 6 months the game came out made it feel more realistic it also had an on and off toggle you can see it on CZcams also with the are buddies you should be able to wash your Pokemon put decorations like pins and clothing stuff on it like the main games like have 6 o
in the world and they'll be just running around doing their own AI thing
The "monster hunter"game in the app store had it first right?
this is cool... but YEARS? *sigh* should have fixed GBL lags and glitches instead
Bro picked the biggest pokemon to test 😅
better than avatar update
Hours of amusement for your friendly Singaporean grandma (tm).
Add to the dumpster fire of things nobody asked for but gave us anyway. Give us unlimited remote raids back instead!
(Laughs in the background)
Its been 1 year dude! what we focusing right now is the bad Avatar update 😑
@@courraffe bad avatars are a momentary inconvenience while a screen loads....remote raids limit the ability to actually play for some people...those that give up don't have avatars anymore either so although yes the avatars are mess theres far bigger issues than a goofy character. Don't be that player that just let's them off the hook because time has past or nothing will get fixed.
i wanted this for ages.. just cus YOU didn't ask for it doesn't mean others didn't.
@@chaosdragun1608 been confirmed it ain't happening, also remote raid nerf exist bc of people going out again, not getting others of the hook but it's the truth
@@courraffe that's fine but I think generally speaking remote raids would be far better utilized than this feature. Feels like they just do whatever and really don't listen to their paying customers. Sad but ultimately will just cause further decline in the player base
Ok … tried. Pain on butt. Never to. E opened again because I could give a flying.
Yeah its a forgettable thing. Maybe do it once for fun but no reason to do it.
Cant even use this, all i get is a green background
I think it good at least for people that will use it. That being said i dont like it since it increased the time I spent with my buddies since I need a extra click to leave.
*4 years?!* 🤦♀
Why should this be considered “a good update” if the majority of players aren’t gonna care bout it, Niantic does anything but actually enhance the gameplay that people actually care about 😅 such a 🗑 company
It overheats Ur phone. It's not that good. Want to turn it off. Also slows down Ur phone and trading is much worse
I promise you 97% of the player base doesn’t care about this feature 😅 it doesn’t enhance gameplay or does anything really, once again Niantic is being 🗑
You're probably right. Its such a niche aspect of Pokémon GO and there's literally no reason for the average player to care about it.
4 years? yikes.
