    That soldier did not lose his job and was not reprimanded. He was commanding the troops there so it was his decision to return. I believe the queens guard offered the boy and his family a tour of the castle at a later date

      @@thebritishpanda6545 it is super strict. Also imagine how many kids and tourist want to pose for close up pics. You do it for one and you will have to do it for all. They know this. Therefore it is super strict.
      There have been a case in Sweden where someone (adult) had a clown mask who approached the king's guard. Only to hit him in the face and steal the fully automatic weapon with that knife thing attached. Happend like 4 years ago or something :p

    This sweet child reminds me of young, 3 year-old John-John Kennedy saluting at his father's funeral. (Yes, I'm showing my age.) Those of you who didn't see it then can find it online, I would think. It was one of the saddest moments in USA history; yet young John-John showed the world how united and strong we are, even in sorrow.

    Something people don't realize, the guardsman can't salute the child back but the click step he did towards the lad before he went in is actually a sign of respect given to someone they can't salute. Fine guardsman all round. 😊 and adorable little lad.❤

      @@leopardscarf I am not british but I've seen a lot of videos of them, if I remember correctly the stomps could either mean respect or that they are annoyed, it depends if the stomp is heavy or not; if it's loud they are really pissed off.

      Most definitely it wasn’t he’s a soldier. The child was lucky that he made the effort to do that. He didn’t speak or bend down towards the child as he’s working and he probably got in trouble for doing even this.

      The commander came out once he released his troop. The boy was offered a job for when he came of age

      @@Cinesta76 The kid is currently 25 years old, and he’s now a commander himself. Believe it or not, he actually replaced that same guard when he retired last year. I probably wouldn’t have believed it myself, but It was all over CNN, and all the other fake news networks, so I knew it had to be true. It was an incredibly beautiful story, and it really touched my heart.

      @@alba9507 Why is that bad? The west and the middle east have been at war for centuries and it will not stop any time soon. It just so happens the great empires of old could not stand the test of time and left their people to the whims of their enemies. The only way the middle east has any hope of being a peaceful region they must unite under a multi ethnic nation, it has proven time and time again that it works there. Islam is a massive unifying factor in this aspect. Turkey may well revive the Ottomans, or create some spiritual successor. But untill then, they reap what they sow, and after centuries of losing, the west is finally on top.

Well done to the soldier, who embedded a memory forever within that boys mind.       Nah, this is fine. They cant salute the kid back, however, you can give respect. That last minute stomp and turn he does, that is a sign of respect from the 💂 guards.       I saw in a reddit AMA that a guard can march ten steps, do a left turn and return every ten minutes for not to have blood stuck in the legs. I think that was one of those actions, and a very kind and adorable way to do so. :)
