Yeah exactly what I was thinking, he gave very serious answers while Graham had obviously set up the conversation to get a funny advice but he still managed to turn it around by making a joke himself. Then he asks him a question opening the door again for Robert to make a joke but then he just says something mean hahah still love him though. It's moments like these that prove just how good of a talk show host Graham Norton is, he still made it worth watching and not too awkward.

Robert De Niro and Sean Bean have to be two of the most difficult actors to interview. Both very shy and just generally do not like to talk and open up. You can see them forcing their answers.
I dont think robert deniro is shy, i think he just isnt articulated enough because he cant speak english as he is italian-american.
What i mean is he cant speak fluently as native english speakers thus he pretends to act shy to appear endearing..... in other words to prevent making a Fool himself aka typical awkward italian
...or maybe he moved to America from italy in his teens.... hence his english isnt too good
... or maybe he didnt get a very well rounded education by his itslian parent.

DeNiro shuts down nearly every interviewer, while always still remaining so likeable, and does not seem like an ass at all. It's obvious he doesn't dislike Graham though, given he has done several appearances on the show.

I think Fallon was telling a story about how De Niro was a guest on his very first show and at the time De Niro didn't have any movie to promote and he just appeared on the show because they asked him to be and he did it out of kindness and being nice to talk to.

He doesn’t feel the need to perform for people. Ironically he is an actor though, but for him it is not so much for the exhibition but for the seeking of truth and knowledge through character work. A very extroverted introvert. Many creatives are the type, Brando, Daniel Day Lewis, even painters like Van Gough and Michelangelo!
Robert de niro doesn't do many interviews but when he does he chooses wisely and he only joins in when necessary and never steals other actors thunder.

Robert De Niro sounds so genuine when he says this. He will give proper advice. No just blow people off as Graham assumes. That is bloody cool. Someone who is so successful and respected caring about up and comers. Not being all poncy and important. Call me naive but I respect that

I love the unlikely friendship of Cher and Robert DeNiro, haha! And people are hating on Cher because she's old. But she's quick witted, she's kind, and she speaks her mind! Apart from her succesful music career, there really is no legitimate reason to be mean about her based on this video

He is BETTER than Oprah
SurahOnline Apples and oranges. Oprah is good at what she does (or did). Norton built a reputation for getting ensembles of interesting guests together who would all have fun for an hour rather than just plugging a movie etc. The format relies on interplay between the guests and also requires someone very witty and extrovert to keep all the balls in the air, which Norton is very good at.

Anyone remember the very first time deniro was on Norton, a yr or so into the shows start, so wayyyyyy back. When he used to do all the phone pranks and games in the show? Deniro was not impressed, you could tell his agent or the movie company forced him to appear to promote lol.... It was so painful to watch haha felt so sorry for Norton!

It's a great illustration of two different personalities. Norton is extravert, arrogant, kinda dishonest and feels above fans coming to him for advice or praise. Introverted DeNiro responds not understanding: 'No I actually like giving advice'. Difference between a sincere man and a show man.
