@@guylevinberg1093 usually annoying but occasionally on point. This recommendation for one's own work was on point. Good job. Reminds me of Bill Frisell
I think the reverb, sounds great. It certainly fits the piece. Maybe if I didnt already know that you can play the most insane lines and awkward chord shapes with boderline inhuman clarity, the reverb would make me a little suspicious, but you are Josh-effing-Meader! You've earned the right to lather on any effect you can think of.
Beautifully played. The mood is maintained thought. I would like to hear a Meader ballad album, all classical or mainly jazz ballads with 2 or 3 classical maybe also a couple adapted from pop songs as well. This Clair De Lune could be an intro that would evolve into a slow swing backing with brushes and cymbal accents and an improvisation. Classical musicians used to improvise now they don't. I find that if ballads are played with a lot of virtuoso riffs it can take away from the mood and this doesn't fall into that, and just having that one faster riff near the end was nice. Holdsworth said he was afraid to play this piece because it might make him cry however I think that is was somebody should play something like this. As beautifully played by Josh I continue to feel like these are sound-bite length that a piece like this to really get into your soul needs 2-3 minutes or more . Despite Josh's monster chops I feel like he has a special affinity for ballads whereas a lot of the shredders out there don't
You'll probably not read my comment but anyways ! I wanted to let you know that you are my favourite guitar player. I think that your playing is so inspiring. It makes me work even harder on my guitar each time I listen to your music. I hope to reach your level of ease one day. Please keep going to cherish our ears !
beautiful arrangement and playing, it's great to see transcriptions of classical music of impressionistic composers for the electric guitar. I think a bit less of reverb would make it even better, but that's just me.
Clair de lune is my wife's favorite piece of classical music and we love listening to it from time to time but your version is absolutely beautiful and brilliant...And the tone you get out of your guitar ( nice Kiesel by the way ) is SO soothing and relaxing... I could totally listen to it every night before I go to sleep... This is a true masterpiece...Claude Debussy would have been impressed...
Usually don't view these "watch me play' videos but had to when I saw 'Claire De Lune' Excellent attempt. This could actually double as a tutorial for me. It does seem like some parts in the original composition are ommited though. Roxane Elfasci does an outstanding job on this piece on an acoustic. No matter. Great job. Cheers.
It's interesting how you changed your pick grip for hybrid picking. I guess you can play well both ways, but I just started experimenting with hilding the pick with the tips ofnthe fingers instead of the side and its a very different feel.
I have rewatched this video like 4 times since its came out! So good! I come back to your videos like everyday. It would be my dream if you covered Merry Go Round of Life (The Howl's Moving Castle Theme). You're insane!
Mom was a classical pianist and this was one of her favorite Tunes..👏🙏
My mums favourite too
What a brilliant rendition of Clair de Lune.
Wow Josh. You just showed the world that Clair was meant for the warmth of guitar. I've never liked it more. Ty.
Love this interpretation man ! AEJ, New Orleans
Lovely and reminds us why the original piece is so beloved ... for it's atmospheric, melancholy and oddly uplifting movements ....
Beautiful!
I would never have bet THIS is possible to play on an electric guitar and yet ....
Big applause to you ,sir !!! 👏👏👏
Check out my version of the entire piece maybe? :)

The attention towards keeping a soft classical tone is great!

One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written ❤
This one of the best things I've ever heard!!!
That was absolutely beautiful. Thank you.
BEAUTIFUL GUITAR PLAYING !!!
CLAUDE DEBUSSY WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE COMPOSERS... THE IMPRESSIONISTIC PERIOD.
Nice little descending riff at the end😊
Nailed it in all ways. Thanks for this.
i'm amazed by the fact you don't have more subs... keep on with the great work!
Stop wait! Where is the rest of the piece?! I demand full version of this arrangement!
Got him one of those Gambale signature guitars! Couldn't think of a better guitarist to deserve one. Cheers

I liked the reverb. Went really well with the vibe of the music. Also it's different. But where is the rest?
You can never have too much reverb
I was going to say exactly the same thing regarding the brilliant playing and reverb!
The problem is that the sustain on this guitar itself isn’t long enough so the reverb accentuates it
That reverb sounds like my Afterneath!

I knew today was gonna be a good day. I was just listening to Kamasi Washington's rendition this morning.
As one of your first official 500 fans over the last few years, I formally request entire album of these. :)
Sounds awesome
