The tune is not a showcase for technique; it’s an extended meditation on an augmented blues form… written by Bill, btw, but credited to Miles because Miles took credit for lots of tunes he didn’t write. Sounds great but less is more..the problem with technical guitar work is that sometimes emotional content goes missing between the arpeggios Wes Montgomery was one of Pat’s guitar heroes he was a master and huge advocate of less is more. The space between the notes and how you phase them is just as important as how fast you can play scales in fact it’s more difficult to do.
