Good video. I didn't know about the one at the front middle. Thanks for pointing that out. Now, the spindles might be sealed bearings and the grease does nothing. How can I find out if they are sealed or not? Thanks for sharing. 🍁👍👍
Hey man I’m new to this whole grease thing. I was able to grease all of them EXCEPT the one you said is most overlooked. When ever I hook up my grease gun - no grease goes in. I’ve made sure the fitting is as tight as it goes but still won’t let any grease in???
Would have been helpful to tell everyone what the most missed grease fitting is meant to grease and how much grease to pump into that grease fitting. Also, it's been proven that greasing the spindles with enough grease will force grease into the bearings. It's a lot of grease but it does grease them and from then on you'll never have to pump more than a few pumps of grease into those grease fitting on the spindles.
I found these on Amazon amzn.to/3jQ5qOQ. sorry not sure what the part number is. I'm sure if you go to a store that sells John Deere they will have them in stock.
@@DIYJIM I think you sent the wrong video. The one you sent shows how to level the deck. I appreciate the link for the grease gun and grease though. Do you have a video that shows how to grease the bushings?
@@jenkinsmus Sorry not sure if I have what you are looking for. This video shows me using my grease gun. Right around 1:48 czcams.com/video/TgxXMTVjVwk/video.html

I’m sure they are sealed if you mow a 1/2 acre to an acre, I’m sure they will be good for a long time. Thanks for watching

Thank you for the video!! Excellent! How often do we have to do this?
If you’re mowing around 1/2 acres maybe once a year. Thanks for watching
@@DIYJIM Thank you so much! It's 4 acres. 😱

Sometimes the tiny little ball on the grease fitting needs to be pressed in with a little screw driver
Done found it !
thanks for watching
as mention before spindle bearings are sealed waste of grease
the spindle bearings are closed bearings. greasing them is a dead duck. you did not even mention that.
Thanks for watching
You forgot the transmission lever housing where the stick shift is at!!!! aright next to the transmission shifter.
Thanks for the tip
Does the grease on the spindles do any good on the spindle bearings? I heard they are sealed bearings. Grease can't get in if they are sealed.
Good question I have a video on that I’m not sure but if your mowing abouta half an acre I’m sure they will last a long time.
yes you are right

Oh dang I missed it.

Nice. I have heard some comments that the mower deck bearing are sealed. Have you ever looked to see if it is true?
Yep have a video about it. Look at my John Deere videos thanks for watching
yes they have been sealed since 1980 n No point in greasing them
Can I use white lithium grease spray on all the fittings instead of a grease gun?
No the grease zerk fittings need grease pumped into them.
@@DIYJIM thank you so much and thank you for making this video .
@@DIYJIM and is there a way to bypass that reverse button? That’s a pain in the butt, I just want to use the reverse pedal with the use of the button.
@@user-ni5gt4gp3h I have a video on that
How much do I put in. I put like 5 pumps in every hole

Anyone know the part number for the spindle bearings for a John Deere D130 lawn tractor. Need to replace mine. Thanks.

@@DIYJIM this link you sent was the correct one for the bushings. Thanks for sending it - very helpful!
I took one out and lost it.
What size are the fittings? Are they metric?
I’m not sure I would just take another one out and take it to a auto parts store. Hope this helps
