- čas přidán 15. 06. 2024
- I take the Mutt Mastiff 250 on a mini adventure from London to the beautiful seaside town of Southwold on the east coast of England, for a 250 mile round trip over two days.
All Mutt motorcycles come in 250 and 125cc variants, so they can cater for everyone from 16 year old learner riders, to learners of any age, commuter bikes, people getting back into biking or simply riders who enjoy the easy going nature of small capacity motorcycles.
This is an out of the box British custom built using a licensed version of the 250cc and 125cc Suzuki GN engines that have a proven history of reliability and ease of maintenance.

2-up, on a 250, for 200 miles... respect to you and your lady!
But it's not an Enfield
Amazing, you're not selling a bike, you're selling a dream.
Great video!
Thanks so much Stephane, I'm so glad you like the video and the format of it!🙂
I've been a fan of the Mutt bikes for a while. Would be good if they were to introduce a 400-650cc engine into their range, as this is probably the power sweetspot. Love the designs
That's a very good shout at 400-650cc! I think they've had quite a few people asking them for 350cc bikes, so it'll be interesting if they do it, and if they do one at around the 500cc point, how will it compare to the Interceptor!
They could use either the suzuki dr350 or even better the dr650
From what I understand they have been thinking about introducing 400ccs for awhile
A 400 would be very popular I think.
I think Phil is spot on the mark here. I get there's a market for the ''Learner rider'' but they all sell their 125/250cc bikes within a few years to upgrade for something bigger. IMO Mutt bikes look great & i want one, though not in this small engine format, seriously it's useless for motorway riding. If Mutt made a 400/500 or even a 650cc engine, i would buy one in a heart beat!
Excellent entertainment again. I think your channel has a lot of potential! Especially appreciate the lifestyle and travel elements you through in the mix; for me that is what this great hobby is all about. 👌🏻 Cheers from 🇳🇱
Really glad you like the format of the videos, thank you very much!🙂
Completely agree- it's what the bike represents that's more exciting than the actual bikes themselves🤘
What an amazing bike - and what a super cool, natural presenter you are! I'm looking to buy my first motorcycle, and this looks absolutely incredible! Thanks!
Came across this by chance - I loved feeling like I’ve been taken on a journey - it’s a great video about the Mutt. I love how they look and you’re right about the two wheeled freedom thing, cars don’t seem to have that.
You get the like and sub for showmanship alone.
Moreover,I have been looking for a reason to get a mutt and you have, with your honest and integral wonder sold me on a beautiful motorcycle.
The enamour and wonder you have for both simplicity and style are sure to become something I would view more regularly.
Thankyou for being honest.
Nicely done! The Mutt Mastiff or Akita might just be my next bike. Before having kids, I was fortunate enough to have owned an R1200GS, but you've nailed the essence of biking here.
I been going through all your stuff and I would be all over this bike the looks and the build quality look tremendous . I checked their website and they said they are setting up dealerships in the US . Best bike videos , I am new to the channel and really enjoy it
Thanks for this review. I’d never heard of Mutt…what a great alternative
As if i didnt already want a bike! Your films, locations, and choice of bikes are absolutely sublime!
Good show old chap.
Such a perfect little bike with a really great road presence and again I really got a sense that you don't loose any of the adventure or experience with one of these if you are 16 or 30+ they suit everyone,
my first bike was a 125cc with only a speedo, no fuel gauge or gears, no screens and it was perfect. This video really took me back to the ownership experience and to have some of the lifestyle shots featured in there too was really something special,
Thanks for taking the time to make this, what a neat bike & the custom-looking add ons that come as stock are really impressive. My 125 was at a time when 125cc's were all about looking like sport bikes, I wish i'd had the chance to own something as cool looking as this
Thanks!🙂
I remember those days of all 125s looking like sports bikes!😆
I just pictured you on your bike wearing a speedo😂
Great video. Lovely shots, and good commentary. I own a Mutt as I’ve just passed my CBT. Love it 😁👍🏻
Really glad you enjoyed it, thanks Jared! They're ridiculously fun bikes!
Hi Freddie nice footage of the bike and scenery , I love that you are promoting the lifestyle aspect too , we had a lovely weekend in southwold really nice place, great job .
Thanks for the feedback Garry, really glad you enjoy the lifestyle aspect side of the videos. Southwold really is beautiful!
I always enjoy your reviews Freddie, thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much Mark, so glad you enjoyed it!🙂
Seriously some of the freshest and entertaining motorbike content on CZcams. Well done!
That means a lot, thank you!:)
I totally agree, the clarity of photography, filming and dialogue in this video supersedes even some of the professional commercial releases. You could have been riding a Penny Farthing in this and the content would hold anyones interest. Great work. I'm in the process of getting my CBT and am looking at the Akita to start my adventures.
Another excellent video Freddie…they just keep getting better 👍 You really should be an ambassador for the UK travel industry 🇬🇧👍😎
Good looking bike and nice presentation. One can see and feel the enthusiasm of the narrator!👍
First time I watch a video about a 250cc 😂 That's how good you are Freddie 😉 Cheers mate.
Thank you Didier!!😀
Ha, same here now you mention it! 😊
Wonderfully made video. I really enjoyed it and this cycle truly looks great. Thanks for sharing!
👍
Really excellent review, probably the best I've ever seen. I was going to ask what brand the jacket was but then you also told me that in the video. And you gave some great info about where you went on the bike. The Mutt looks the business, want one.
Really appreciate it, thank you!🙂
I've been watching your channel the last few days and it really is great.
Man...you got me stoked so much I don't have a license yet but wanna ride this dude so badly.....gonna look at it in a couple of days at a shop here in Holland. Thanks man , you made it so genuine looking , this is all I needed. Probably I have the bike before my license :-)...freedom is all I need , leave my thoughts in the helmet and cruise around . Nice vid mate
Great vid freddie. That bike captures the essence of biking origins. Cheap, fun, and cool. You dont have to spend 20k to find freedom.
Your professional approach to vlogging is a credit to you. Best wishes and keep up the good work sir.
That means a lot, thank you Andy!
Real awesome Low CC bike, great video, congratulations dude!!!! nice rides!!! be safe!!! hugs from Brazil....!!!!
you videos are so relaxing.thanx to both of you........
Great video, really considering this bike as a starter now, thanks Freddie!
Glad you found it useful, I found the Suzuki engine fact a huge positives to the Mutts , and the handling and general incredible ease to ride makes them dream learner bikes and it looks superb!
How lucky we are to have such cool bikes to choose from these days. An off the shelf ‘cafe racer’ for knocking about on is a great idea. I like your enthusiasm for the less obvious options 👍
Thanks very much and I couldn't agree more- we are spoilt for choice!
Great video. Love the speech at the end. Cant wait to get my Akita!
Really interesting video again. I am 73 and have just got back motorcycling again on a BMW G310r. I ride with my missus on the back. Yes I am loving your channel, keep it coming Freddie.
Thanks John, really glad you're enjoying the content and that you've got back into biking- fantastic!🙂
I've heard the G310r is a very good bike!
I think now my wife is a regular pillion, I need a Triumph T100 0r T120. Keep the videos coming.
Love the content
Even tempted me to look at the mutt 250
Looks a great bike
An amazing video! Thank you Mr. Dobbs!
Just love it. I think I'm gonna buy a couple of them. Thank you for this video
Catching up with videos you made before I found your channel.
You just have the power to convey the joy of riding, no matter what type od motorcycle.
This little Mutt is cute and looks like lots of fun and versatility.
I daily ride my 2007 Yamaha YBR125, still love it as much as I did on the day I got it. It gets about 50 km/l or 2l /100 km or 117 mpg.
Stripped it off most of the plastic during the years.
Really appreciate it! And 117mpg!!!! I didn’t know that was possible- incredible!
Enjoyed the video. thank you. Very tempted to buy one. I like the styling and the simplicity. I'll be touring Europe soon that'll look good on the back of the motorhome. Rock & roll
i was looking for somthing like these to carry along on my new van! great vid as always! cheers!
Brilliant video and great t music, scenery, and commentary.look forward to your next.thanks
Really glad you enjoyed it, thanks Mark!
Another top vlog/ review. Cheers Freddie 👍🍺
Great video Freddie, I have my cbt booked and will be getting a Mutt as my first bike. Would love a video/series dedicated to the various gear you recommend at different price points as I love your style. Cheers!
Thanks Ryan, that's fantastic news that you've got your CBT booked!🙂. Thanks very much for the input- I'll do a video on some of my gear!
I bet you can't wait to get the Mutt!
❤ he's deffo done tv before lol what a wonderful way of speaking he has.
Thanks for all your info
Glad I’ve discovered this channel, great enjoyable content, I hope you’ll go far on CZcams
Thanks very much!🙂
@@FreddieDobbs I’ve just ordered a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 that should arrive in a week or so.
You’re welcome to do a review on it once it’s run-in if you’d like.
I’m based in South East London and have a Coffee Shop in Tulse Hill (BUTTER UP Coffee)
Thank you Freddie.. your style and presentation of informative information especially for someone like myself who is just coming into the motorcycle scene is 2nd to none!! I'm looking at getting a 250 scrambler type bike, I love the styling and go anywhere appeal! The Mutt mastiff is a beautiful all-rounder, is there any chance you're going to review the Bullit hero 250? As I would only consider independent information from someone like yourself as relevant... Cheers Matt Harwood
NEW SUBSCRIBER. Enjoying your vids mate! Keep at it! Hope this channels blows up real soon!
Thanks Joshua, hugely appreciate it!🙂
We have them here in Western Australia thanks for the video's you two do a excellent job very entertaining enjoyable and Knowledgeable
Good review mate, keep them coming. So wish these were around when I learned, encouraging my mate whilst he is doing his tests and has a T100 sitting ready. 🏴
Thanks very much Jon! I completely agree- I'd have just jumped on one of these to learn on if they were around when I was learning too! T100; the perfect first bike/bike for life!🖤
Love all your video's guys.
Another brilliant review on a great looking bike, thank you :)
*Renton cleaned himself up and now sells motorbikes. Good for you, man!* ;)
Just came back from around the Algarve mountains on my Mutt. What fun. Wonderful bikes and you're right, the bikes don't take themselves too seriously.
Wow, what an amazing sounding trip!!!
@@FreddieDobbs the roads are empty and magical...weave after weave. If you ever bring your Bonnie to Portugal drop me a line and I'll show you the best Algarve routes...some are unbelievable.
@@jedw9983 I definitely will do, thanks Jed. Portugal is VERY high on my list!👌👌
very much in tune with what i enjoy,,a day out to the sea side,, sometimes apparently simple things are beautifully complex,, the Mutt seems to be all that,, you really captured the feel of a summers day run..in windy west highlands go to tell you thats really appealing,, great work,, great style.
hi Fred nice vid, had a triumph tiger cub back in 69 when I was jack the lad, ran out of petrol on way to work, parked up got the bus. Chap at work said "there is a reserve tap"? Mut perfect commuter.
Hi George,
That's a brilliant story!!🤣🤣 Triumph should bring back the Tiger Cub, it looks amazing!🖤
great vid, thanks Freddie
Great video Freddie, I live out that way, love a bit of Suffolk. Next time you are out Ipswich way you should try and visit TTT Motorcycle Village in Sudbury. They are a Mutt dealer and also have loads of retro bikes and gear. I'd say it is right up your street. Got a cafe etc so worth the trip, great place.
I bought a Suzuki GN400 new in the early 80s and still recall a memorable ride from Exeter to Portsmouth one foggy morning where the GN managed 106 mpg!
Nice bike! Seems almost as cool as the Vanvan 250. Love these smaller displacement bikes!
Beautiful editing
Another nice video Freddie, Southwold looks lovely, my parent's used to take their camper van up there, I will deffo have a run up there on my bike, the mutt look's great with a well proven engine, but I do wonder about long term durability, anyway keep the video's coming their a welcome addition to my Sunday morning's
Really appreciate it, thank you! There are still lots of camper vans in Southwold- so much so that there are signs on the sea front saying "no sleeping in vehicles overnight"!😆
Thanks for the support!
Great video. Not just a good review, but also a representative of what motorcycles add to ones life. My FZ6 has been my overall bike for 14 years, but (coming from an North American) nothing beats the simplicity and freedom of a small displacement motorcycles. I recently bought a Kymco Spade 150 for that reason and enjoy it every time I get on it. We don't have the Mutt here, but I do keep my eyes out for a Suzuki TU250. The camera lady does a great job too.
Really appreciate it, thanks David. The FZ6 is a brilliant all rounder!
That Kymco looks very fun!
I've passed on your kind words to Monika (camera lady), thanks!🙂
Beautiful bikes. Great review, really entertaining.
My mann, Love your content, love the bike mastiff mutt cool bike... Watching from the Philippines
Great Video.. The bike is very good looking.. Wow.. Love it..
That was one of the best performances of a motorbike ever. 👍👍👍I am thrilled.
I'm a year-round motorcyclist and have several bikes. My most powerful one is a Yamaha Fazer600 with 95 hp. But my favourite bike is my Honda NX250 with its 23 hp and only 133 kg. I would like to buy another small motorbike. Have seriously considered the new Royan Enfield Hunter, but the weight of 181 kg is too heavy for me.
I am seriously thinking of buying a Mash Two Fifty.
Your video has totally convinced me, and it's perfectly done. Thank you and best regards 🙋♂
Top upload as always Freddie, that’s a seriously good bike for very little money, commuting, country lane thrash, off road it’s proper all rounder + none of the drawbacks of Euro 5 so you get a glorious soundtrack out the back 😎 would love to see one with an all over brushed aluminium tank 👍🏻 ps. Can you stop with all the cool gear stuff, it’s seriously hurting my bank balance 🤣
Really appreciate it, thank you! I was amazed to hear that this bike (and all new Mutts) are Euro 5! They've managed to keep a good amount of exhaust character, and it's bang up to date on the emissions side.
Brushed aluminium tank is a great shout- I'm a HUGE fan of that style!
I'll try and cut back on the biking gear section, sorry Rushy!🤣🤣
Great video, loved it !
Really enjoyable video thanks I want a mutt now
Excellent video again, entertaining as usual. I cracked up when you claimed that you "swallow about a fistful of her fur every time I come". Yes, my mind can be dirty like that... Keep up the good work!
🤣🤣
Really glad you enjoyed it! 🤜🤛
Another really good episode Freddie. Fun looking motorcycle, and a hearty breakfast - was that a full English breakfast?
Stunning seaside locations, I love all the character. Where I live, the character would be quickly obliterated and jammed full of highrises.. and to make matters worse, the Mutt isn't even available in my country. I'm moving! 😆
Nice vid, nicely paced and nicely presented. Er... nice.
You've got an interesting sounding voice and eloquent delivery. Very natural and spontaneous in front of the camera.
Like the bike and get the simplistic appeal, but maybe a bit "hipster" for me.
Just one thing: sound levels jump around a fair old bit. Gotta be gentle with us headphone listeners!
Great video. Thank you.
Oh, and please pass on my compliments to the willing and able camera lady! :)
Thanks you very much, I will do!🙂
such a lovely coastal town
Your fits abs aesthetic is unmatched. The mutt is awesome, loved the shots of you on the bike!
Thank you Ian!😆
Great Video Freddie!
Thanks Dominic!
Thanks for introducing me to Mutt motorcycles. A 500 cc single would be nice.
I like this kind of Videos and i like people who drive mororcycles which are basic and have not the power of 150PS which a driver don´t need... Back to the roots and back to motorcycles where are good for the climatic because saving petrol. Very good Video from a person who now what we need in our Motorbbike Live. Topp ! Greetings from Germany !
Brilliant video, hats of to you for trying it 2 up! What a great looking bike!
I wish this sort of 250 (or 400cc) were available in larger frames for those of us who are longer of leg (i.e lanky streaks of piss).
I have no need of a more powerful engine but I don't want to ride around with my knees keeping my ears warm.
The only downside of this style is that the tyre size is a bit on the expensive side for a small bike.
Refreshing review..makes a nice change from the norm. Keep up the good work...please review the Interceptor 650 sometime...Epic bike. For little money. Thanks!
Good shout- I'm a GIGANTIC Interceptor fan!!🙂
Great review!!
Looking at getting a mutt after my holiday where I just got back from Southwold and thought how great it would be to ride round the area!!
Good video Freddie, cool jacket..
Thanks Derek, really glad you enjoyed it!
Oh bro, outstanding "Motor Vlog" style with a simple but entertaining way to introduce motorcycles.
As for MUTT Motorcycles, this 250 is a simple, elegant beauty but it is a pity that their models do not reach Latin America. Here in this part of the world if you want something "boutique brand" you should go to Chinese or Indian brands.
Greetings from far away Venezuela👊
I was thinking about getting a Yamaha TW200 but I like the looks of this much better. It has that sexy British classic look.
Very nice video!
You sell it well looks great 👍
Good video. Nice little bike.
Retired expat living jn Thailand. Great riding here.
There's a Thai Company that puts out a good range of bikes, including a 250 cc. Two cylinder.
Had one for a while, was a great bike.
Probably about half the price of the Mutt.
Love Thailand!!
Ride safe!!
I wish they had these over in the states!
Brilliant video subscribed 👍
Thanks!
Amazing video thank you! Whereabouts was the coastline you went to?
awesome video. nice set up good facts cool dude...
Hi Freddie loved the review and the Suffolk scenery but you didn't mention whether Monica liked being on the back of the Mutt. Been to Southwold many times including the Adnams cafe did a tour of the brewery it was excellent 😊
I too would love to hear what Monika thought, as I'm considering one of these for me to take my wife on rides with?
This one sentence of yours nailed it for me: It should be much cheaper than a car. Exactly!
Subscribed mate! beautiful insight and respect the detail
Hi Freddie, New to your channel, Love your style and vibe, keep up the good work! Subscriber +1
Thanks you so much for the support!
This guy is living his best life
Absolutely awesome Freddie. Great little bike. I like ur leather jacket but not as much as my Goldtop 76 cafe racer. 👍
That's a real dream jacket for me- I love that Goldtop model!
Hey Freddie are those Rokker boots the "dark brown" or "light brown" version? Thanks my man and keep up the awesome videos.
Great video. I like the simplicity of the Mutt, but they I agree with below, gottta put something out the higher cc.
Really glad you enjoyed it, it'd be really interesting to see a higher cc Mutt!
Great looking bike. Was looking at this or the Meteor as my first bike (even though I'm in my 40's) but being a big lad at 18+Stone I think I'll go for the Meteor (even though that could look small under me too :) ).
Hi Freddie, welcome back to my home county(I wouldn't want to live anywhere else, except maybe Norfolk, if the development continues the way it is at the moment). I, like you love the Mutt, for me it's everything biking should be as basic and simple as possible. Leave the traction control, abs and sports mode to the BMW owners, I'm not interested. The Mutt is perfect for rekindling memories of your youth when we rode the country lanes on ratty 7 owner CD 175's and CB 200's with no service history or 1st gear. My son has a Lexmoto Valiant 125, and is learning the basics of motorcycle maintenance before moving on to something a little bigger. The 250 Mutt would be perfect, I wouldn't mind one either. Great looking, and from a British company. Thanks for posting another great video for those of us hopefully temporarily "out of the game". You should visit Aldborough next time you're out this way, the fish and chips from The Golden Galleon are to die for. Best eaten on the beach. All the best.
Thanks Robert, I'm a huge Aldborough (and Suffolk in general!) fan!🙂
The Mutt's so much fun everywhere and is (along with the Himalayan) the most fun I've had off roading!
Hey mate great video to watch and relax too!
I’m in Oz’ but these bikes are on the market here&there I’m in love with the British styled / assembled bikes like this .
I don’t have my license yet but intend to and I’m only 5’4 or 5’5’! Am I too short for this bike :) ?
Great video !!!
Thanks!
