    Well, this one comes down to when you are watching this video. If you are watching this video in the next couple of months, there really isn't much of a decision between the Google Pixel 7a vs. the Pixel 6a...I don't think so. You should get a 6a...but if the gap gets less than $100 a few months from now, it starts to make more sense why you'd get a 7a.

    It seems to me that the best strategy for someone looking to buy a new Pixel phone is to wait for Black Friday. Google usually gives a deep discount in the official store... at least that's how it has been the last 2 or so years.
    That way you get a good price and they have time to iron a few bugs out first :)

      Well, I don't know about that other one, I would watch that Dave2D video on the 7a. It's a pretty stark difference in video and photos between the 7 and 7a, and not in the 7a's favor, but I do like the phone overall, once it works right.

    Hey Steve, really appreciate the no-nonsense attitude you have here toward these devices. I agree on your point about the 5a being a bad buy since Google has abandoned new features for Snapdragon devices, but it's a huge bummer. The rear fingerprint scanner is the fastest and most reliable way I've ever used to unlock my phone. The battery easily got 8 hours SOT, and the newer Google devices keep shrinking the battery. It was the perfect device for people who didn't need the power to handle heavy graphics work. That is, until the motherboard failed two years from its purchase date.

    Hi! Have been using iPhone for about 10 years now, currently using iPhone 14 Pro Max and I’ve been looking for some change. That because I’m not a professional user, I use my phone for social media, taking daily photos and videos, Pokémon go and clash of clans. So I’m really not in need of an expensive phone like a iPhone 14 Pro Max. Which google pixel phone should I go for? The pixel 7 or 7a? Just need a stable, fast phone with good camera.

    Yeah I agree with you. Wait on getting a new pixel phone. I have the Pixel 7 pro and honestly still it's battery wise. It's not very good when I look at usage it's always the mobile network even more than the screen and that tells you it's the modem and the processor aren't very optimized or maybe I got a bad one. That's kind of the luck of the draw which means when the pixel 8 comes out I'm trading this one in cuz my battery life is never been good. It's a nice big phone. I snatched a used 6A a couple months ago at a second hand wireless dealer close to my neighborhood for $150. Freaking insane deal. I guess pixels aren't too popular around this neck of the woods cuz this store routinely sells pixels dirt cheap. Last summer I bought a pixel 6 from this same store for $250 in flawless condition. Right now he's got pixel 7 pro's at $450 all day. Or pixel 7 at $299! What?! But he wants an arm and a leg for the Galaxy S series though just because dumb ass people will pay whatever for Samsung and Apple. SMH.

    I'm rocking a 6a and while overall, I've been happy with it, I'll go with the 7a once I can upgrade for cheap. The only reason I want to eventually upgrade is this damn fingerprint scanner and I desperately want the option of face unlock. I do use a glass screen protector so not sure if that's the reason but the fingerprint scanner is definitely the weakest link on the 6a

    I looked at the 7a, must say it's got the dullest display I've ever seen. I checked the brightness slider thinking it was about half way on the slider and it was set at maximum, it had a beige tint/ hue too 😱 I believe Auto brightness is a bit grim too. I've checked a few 7a display models and they were the same I saw the Samsung A34 on the next stand and it had a beautiful, bright and vibrant display ( although the rest of the A34 isn't the best ). No way I'd pay over £400 for such a device . To me the display is what the phone is ( the soul of the phone, )despite all its other components.

    Well you can get the 7a for 450 and it's not just the price that different between the two. 7a better screen all around it's smoother not just at 90hez but at 60hrz too. Bigger battery, both speakers are used when a call is put on speaker phone, the network connection is better, the camera is also slightly better. Not saying it's worth the price but it's certainly! A better phone. How ever...I wouldn't buy either one. The chip is not the most efficient in the phone still gets very very hot while doing simple tasks. There are way too many good phones at the five to $600 price range

    People have made a fuas about thia 50 bucks price increase. I personally believe the increase is justified (new chip, 90hz display, new camera etc). Pixel 7a will be a better buy relative to other phones in the price range (most of them if not all). 7As problem is googles own phonea (6A and 7). So, there is no need to be over critical here!

    • @StevealiciousTech
      @StevealiciousTech  Před rokem +1

      Right, but...why? If you add enough to a phone, you can justify it, you can put more and more features until it's a flagship, but that's not the point. It's getting away from what the A series should be, and it almost promises a price increase on the 8 and 8 Pro in the fall. It's not good overall...sure, it is better than the phones in it's range, but it's more expensive than them as well.
