  • Tashi Delek from Lhasa!
Many people are curious about how much cash to carry for a trip to Lhasa and whether it is true that the daily expenses in Lhasa are similar to Beijing and Shanghai.
Today, I will take you around Lhasa city and show you how much it costs to live in Lhasa, including the cost of meals, beverages, clothes, transportation, entertainment, and so on.
From street food in the roadside snacks shop to vegetables and meat in large supermarkets, from breakfast in a traditional teahouse to the buffet dinner in a fine restaurant, from hotel prices to Lhasa house prices... you will learn the most realistic and comprehensive cost of living in Lhasa from my video.
In addition, Lhasa city now has the same convenient online payment methods as most mainland cities. So you don't need to prepare a lot of cash to travel to Tibet.
If you have any questions, you can leave a comment below. Also, you can tell me how it is compared to your city.

There is a small community of Nepali people working in Lhasa . As transportation condition has turned better and better and better, more fresh goods can be deliveried to Lhasa from inner China. I will come and live in Lhasa with my fur babies for few months may be after retirement! Since I am from Kathmandu, Nepal and in Nepal we are kind of mix of buddhism and Hinduism! We celebrate even buddhist festivals and my Buddhist friends also celebrates Hindu festivals. We go to monasteries and also temples! So buddhist holy place is also ours holy place! And I read that how a Nepali princess, daughter of king Anshuverma (Bhrikuti nepali name and her Tibetan name is Bhelsa Tristun was married to Emperor of Tibet! And nepali architect Araniko( his nepali name) was the one who went to Tibet and china in yung dynasty along with this princess and introduced pagoda style designs and white Gumbas to Tibet and then to yung dynasty and also built many great buildings in china. Tibet and nepal share a great history and I feel connected to Tibet and so many Nepalese do! Even our cuisines are influenced by Tibetan cuisine! Love and respect from all Nepalese!

WOWWW Im impressed to see how clean and modern this city is. Im from India and Lhasa , Tibet in our minds is really a mountainous region with harsh life. this video changed everything. This is like some city in Europe !! so beautiful. Added to my bucket list. Although a tad expensive compared to life in Mumbai except for real estate. Tibet is definitely cheap both for rent as well as owning an apartment. Mumbai only real Estate is very very expensive almost New York or Manhattan prices in some pockets. Even in Mumbai suburbs a 1 bedroom apartment costs close to 700000 USD. Rent for a 1 bhk in Mumbai suburb is close to 600-700 USD.
Most working middleclass live in distant suburbs and travel by public transport to downtown or their place of work.
If you know where to buy your day to day needs, its not too expensive. Grocery fruits and vegetables public transportation is quite reasonable.

Hello my friend, just out of curiosity, can you please tell me what Tibetans living outside Tibet think of China in Tibet. Do they think China is doing a good job in development in Tibet or not?
I am from Nepal and I personally think Tibet is much better under Chinese rule than Dalai Lama. China has brought science, maths and uplifted the standard of living while under Dalai Lama, it was just superstition and abject poverty for the locals.
That's just my personal opinion, it would be really interesting to know your view on the subject. Thank you and Tashi delek.

@@Rebelass74 what if I told you that Kathmandu would be transformed overnight into a clean modern city like Lhasa and all of Nepal would develop if you hand over Nepal’s sovereignty to China, would you accept?
China has done tremendous development work in Tibet and I don’t agree with people who demonise CCP without knowing the real situation. But there’s also a thing called the right to self-determination and dignity to exist as a people.
BTW even before 1959, there was no poverty to the level that it exists in Nepal or India. Even the poorest nomad family would have at least 30-40 yaks.
