Hi, I enjoy very much watching your videos & amazed by the creativity of all your carvings. Not only do your videos inspire me as a relatively new carver but the manner in which you carve I find very relaxing to watch. I hope to attempt to carve this pumpkin carving. A couple of questions - what is the “retarder medium” used for & what colour did you mix it? Secondly - in keeping your tools honed & stropped do you use a power strop & buffing wheel. Thanks again.

Folkart pure orange color, retarder medium+Burnt umber color. I only use leather strop and polishing compound. Thank you!

Excellent - thanks for including the painting steps. What's the purpose of adding the linseed oil before painting?

If you mix the linseed oil with paint and draw, it has a subtle gloss. But to protect the wood, add it to the wood first and paint it. Thank you for watching my video.

귀찮다니요.. 제 바램은 우리나라에도 인형을 깎는 카버들이 많이좀 생겨 났으면 하는게 제 바램이자 영상을 만드는 이유이지요^^; 궁금한점 있으면 언제든지 물어보세요!
원래 포크아트에서 클랙미디움물감, 엔틱미디움물감등 여러가지가 나오는데 엔틱미디엄물감은 우리나라에서 판매를 안하더라구요 그래서 엔틱 미디엄을 만들어 써야 하는데 Retarder Medium이, 물감이 마르는 시간을 늦춰줘요 물감에 한두방을을 섞으면 Antiquing Msdium이 돼죠^^ 물감은 여러가지를 만들어 봤는데 Burnt umber색이 제일 괞찮은거 같아요 포크아트에서도 엔틱미디엄물감으로 번엄버, 밤색, 검정, 다크그레이, 4가지 색으로 나와요 도움이 돼셨나 모르겠습니다. 언제나 안카하세요👍😁
전 조소냐(JO SONJA'S) Retarder Medium 쓰는데 너무 많이 썩지 마세요 한두방울만 ㅎㅎ 많이 섞으면 물감이 안말라요

Where do you buy wood? I buy from Beavercraft on Amazon and it is dry and brittle, splitting no matter which direction I carve. Do you know a better place for that fine basswood?

I buy it at an art supply store in Korea. If the wood is dried and broken, soak it in water for about a day and use it. Thank you Granny!
