Caramel Flan - Trini Ginger Custard - Episode 995

- Bake at 350 deg F for 40- 45 mins until set
I took the best of both worlds which is the flan and ginger custard and made it into one recipe.
and With this recipe you can make it any flavor you like, orange, coconut, vanilla etc... also if you add 1/2 cup of powdered milk to it , it makes it even richer.
6 eggs
1 -12oz tin of evaporated milk
3/4 - 1 tin of condensed milk
2 tbsp. ginger or more
1 tsp. vanilla essence
1/3 cup sugar
little less than 1/4 cup water
1/3 cup powdered milk - instant
frying pan
greased glass dish buttered
an empty dish to create a water bath.
3 cups of hot water
heat oven at 350 deg f.

Looked at the views and saw that alot of people tried it and had good results. So i did too. Was total awesomeness! 🙌 The texture is what has me blown away. I was so fed up of spending 30 something dollars for a slice of this outside that is what brought me to this recipe. And my goodness I am glad indeed. 😊 Halfed the recipe and made quite a nice size so I wont over do the sweetness intake. 😁 I like that I can adjust my sweetness also with the condensed milk. Thanks sooo much for this recipe. I'm proud 👏

Can I halve this recipe and get the same result? Btw we tried your pholourie and baignee recipes, came out perfect! Used the excess batter from the baiganee and made something resembling kachouri. Lol really delicious

Oh wawwww Natasha this is definitely a purrrrrrfect flan gurl 👌👌👌👌❤❤❤❤ I can literally see the consistency of it😘 I truly believe that the powdered milk made a huuuge difference with the texture. I will use some grated coconut in mines though since I luvvv coconut flavor. You wawwwed me when u flipped it off the dish 😍 such purrrfection 👍👍 the only thing though ... I do not like to leave the little white blubs from the eggs ... I usually skim it off becoz I call it a baby chick 😄😄 but that's just me ..

I tried your doubles recipe for breakfast yesterday and it was such a hit ... my family enjoyed it so much... however I did find that the bara was a bit stiff/crunchy I'm guessing maybe I tried it for too long or cud it be the baking powder got it too crunchy or was it that I didn't wrap it tightly enough in a tea towel ??? Pls tell me your thoughts.

You don't have to. Use a non stick cake pan and still butter it.

That's carmelized sugar... it's slightly different to caramel, I'm sure you can it though.
