- How can you get your duck hunting ammo to pattern like your sporting clays loads? If your hunting shotgun ammo has similar pattern distribution to your target ammo, your sporting clays, trap, or skeet practice will better equip you to more effectively hunt ducks, geese, pheasants, doves, grouse, crows and much more. I demonstrate a process for testing your hunting ammo and choke tubes to find a combination that patterns similarly to your practice ammunition.

Here I test my Remington Gun Club target loads through my regular modified choke that I use for sporting clays. I am trying to find the right ammo and choke tube combination to give me comparable performance for hunting. I test BOSS copper plated bismuth legacy, BOSS Warcheif, and Mossberg and Muller choke tubes to find a good combination for wood duck hunting. But the same process is ideal for all wing shooting and ammo types whether they are lead, steel shot, TSS, bismuth or something else. #duckhunting #pheasanthunting #sportingclays

Good video George. Talk about gun safety and our responsibility as gun owners. I had a automatic go off when I was loading it. The fireing pin spring was weak when the bolt slammed the shotgun went off. I had the gun pointed in a safe direction .you never knew when a part will brake. All ways think about that. Safety first. Another fantastic video: lets hope that it gets through to the masses, Who have never done any comparison tests. I spent hours doing this with my new Browning A5, with steel 3's. Which paid off last year while decoying at our local marsh, with 1/4 choke. Ending up with 9 wigeon and 3 teal. Only 4 needed a cripple stopper.

So I watched the whole video again. I would have thought it to be better to use your hunting load and choke as the control. With the extensive testing and money we went through we know what to hunt with. Then decide what choke and target load replicates that. You can take that information and the distance of your game and practice.
I was hoping you would mention pattern size, shot size, and velocity. I want a target load that lets me replicate my lead distance. Still enjoyed the information

You said the UFO choke doesn’t turn the legacy shell into a Warchief shell, but the patterns are both 75% with Warchief with a modified choke, and the legacy with the UFO choke
The UFO with the warcheif has gotten me patterns as high as 100%. People I think were expecting it to do the same with the legacy loads.
@@TheNewHuntersGuide gotcha. I thought you meant with the UFO with the legacy shell was like the Warchief with a more open choke, because it pretty much is just suppose.
You shoot low on alot of your patterns
