    Drove the etron last week and the ipace today. The ipace is the best car I have ever driven. It just does everything so well at any speed. Dare I say I even like the false engine noise when you get off the mark.
    Polestar 2 on Saturday then my mind will be made up

      Have you driven the Polestar 2 now? Compare them? Is it true that the I-pace feels quicker? Better kick in the accelerator so to speak. Polestar is quicker 0-100 km/h but maybe more gentle the first meters? Please share your thoughts 😃

    • @funkymonkey1198
      @funkymonkey1198 Před 3 lety +1

      @@mattiasenquist1547 I found the polestar had a bigger kick in the butt. Maybe I was just. More confident? Jaguar definitely felt more premium and had much better cornering and refinement. However it is a whole heap more costly. Polestar felt made to a price point but having said that it was a lovely design. I suggest opting for leather if you want to feel more special but I am over leather really.
      What polestar does so well is it includes all the practical toys you wpuld want in a car as a minimum. Things like 360 camera and full connectivity. If only adaptive dampers were electronic and if only the sport package gave you more power and capacity.

      Nachatar Dhaliwal Great! I’m expecting my polestar to arrive in a couple of weeks but the Jaguar has been tempting all the time. It’s like 40-50% more expensive and it’s obviously not that much “better”.

    Brilliant video! I just ordered mine yesterday. I think it's worth mentioning how utterly different this car can look with the 22's and a top spec. Sadly I think it suffers from a lack of real exterior wow factor compared to its rivals now in base spec, and as you rightly say, until you start adding the extremely expensive options. But, if you're fortunate enough to be able to do so this is undeniably an sensational machine...

    Really good review and (obviously I’m biased) I have to say I agree completely! For a small company like Jag to produce such an amazing EV ahead of its bigger German rivals was surprising, and even though there is a wider choice of EVs available now, I would make the same purchase if I was buying today.
    I’ve not seen the reversing camera problem (I’ve had numerous software updates over the last year and none of them displayed this) which makes me wonder if this specific car maybe had some sort of issue.
    It’s a great car to drive and it’s stunning to behold. Looks way better in person than it does in pictures too. But (no offence) I’m really glad they didn’t take your advice on interior material! 🤣

    Hello. I have just discovered your channel. I watched the BMW i3s and Jaguar i-Pace reports. Both were very enjoyable to watch - Not the "Boy-racer 20's something" reporters who seem to proliferate on car sites at present. Your delivery and "soothing" Scots accent were also a pleasure (with my name "Ian" and a Bearden address, I am biased).

    Great review with lots of the right interior, I drove mine last weekend 129 miles and only used 126 miles off the range. Total miles last weekend 350, with a combination of cheap home charging a very small amount of free charging at a Co-op store and 150 on an Osprey charger arriving back home with 65 miles the whole trip cost £14.50. Now that is cheap for such a high powered car.

    I have loved the i-pace since I first set eyes on it. The styling the looks are head and shoulders above anything else. It is a design which in my opinion will never really look dated. What you mentioned about the brakes not feeling quite right, Personally I would be inclined to think it's more to do with that particular car as we all know the brakes can differ from car to car ( same model). I have not driven the I-pace so these are opinions based on my 41 years of driving experience including 39 years of professional driving. Great review of a great car

    After owning an Ipace HSE for two years now, I would say that your assessment on the car is spot on. This car can be an elegant quiet cruiser or great handling GT in a matter of seconds if you prefer spirited driving. I think its one of the most under rated EVs on the market but I kind of like it that way. It gives me a sense of exclusivity compared to the "herd" of tesla drivers. The fit and finish inside and out, its styling , and performance gives me no regret in spending a premium for this car. Just wish I can add on the 2021 model improvements.

    Only downside I read and hear is a lack of charging stations, up to 8hrs charge if this is correct, til more charging stations became available, even at your place of work, to charge whilst working, as person's living in flats, on road parking with no option to charge from a charger fitted to their home's is a issue to resolve to the future of electric or (your local city jag dealership would collect your ev from your home, to take it to the dealership with a charge station at their dealership, for you.. to charge it for 8hrs, and then return it to you once charged up or a courtesy car whilst yours charge) with a focus on a build of lower charging time's, also, (but if i could loan a courtesy car in on road parking with the no option to have a charger fitted to the home), whilst mine charged i certainly would love one, I love it, and the best styling of a electric car, I've seen at present

    I disagree the looks whist different look great at first but then you take a good look and you realise that there are a few shortcomings, first off the car proportions look very odd in lighter colours, the airscoop is very polarising, the boot has no wipers ok for some in warmer climates but in a country where it drizzling all the time you think they would have added it tucked below the rear spoiler, finally the tech centre console is poor and they really need to revisit the 360 backup camera display and general info speed this alone will push people away to other brands in its biggest market

    • @AutoEV
      @AutoEV  Před 4 lety +3

      Hi Scott, thank you for your comment. Unfortunately the filming in the car park wasn’t intentional. The day we had free for filming was the same day that Storm Ciara hit the South of England, so we had to find somewhere undercover. Hence we used an underground car park. It wasn’t ideal, especially with a black car as you have pointed out, as it didn’t showcase it the way we wanted, nor were we able to shoot any dynamic footage. That’s the issue with filming in the U.K. in February, we can’t guarantee the weather. Normally we film outside. Hope that helps explain the “choice” of location a bit better, and thank you for watching.
