Welcome back ladies and gentlemen to the War of Conquest, featuring the one and only Aegon the Conqueror! Follow along as we conquer the seven kingdoms as Aegon did in the past and accomplish that which has yet to be, establishing a dynasty that will last a thousand, thousand years!
Crusader Kings 2 is a real time strategy game developed by Paradox Interactive and the Game of Thrones overhaul was developed by the CK2:AGOT development team. (At least that’s what it says on moddb)
Not sure which CZcamsr got me into CKii or AGOT, but regardless, the amount of freedom and replayability that the game offers makes it utterly worthwhile purchasing.

Hello all! Let me know if you guys like the music better or worse than before, changed up how I did the music for this recording because it makes my life a little easier on the video editing side. If it sucks, then I will go back to how I was doing it before.
loved the music set up -- not overpowering the play narrative, but still creating atmosphere
Just stay with your two wives, family focus increase the fertility and Rhaenys herself has the lustful trait with buff her fertility to. As long as you are not commanding the fertility shouldn't debuff and babies will come sooner than later. Once you get to conquer 2 more kingdoms you should at least have enough mens to conquer the rest of the kingdoms without the need of the Targs siblings commanding. Besides I would be quite strange to have a non Targaryen 3 wive, specially with Aegon the Conqueror.
All good points, sir. I hadn't considered retiring the dragon riders for the sake of their future heirs of the realm. Normally, I rely on steam rolling Westeros with them and that is probably why I end up with so few children with Aegon. I will probably do what you suggest and start doing family focus with Aegon and his sisters on Dragonstone while our vassals armies do the conquering for us. Also, if I did find a third wife for Aegon, she would be of High Valyrian descent. I agree that a non-valyrian would definitely be strange and even non High Valyrians would seem watered down as well.
@@joeblivion3472 Give it a try with these tips. Just remember that the "grown a heir" ambition has also a fertility bonus and married lovers have also a buff in their fertility and they don't cheat on you. So maintaining both of your wives as lovers should be the best idea, although sometimes a little bit risky because you can get stress.
@@danielmoreno2702 This is true. It seems that Aegon's fertility is dreadfully low because I tested out these tips in a test run and so far Aegon has only 4 children and is in his forties. Married, lovers and family focus, although to be fair, I did the family focus for only the first four years, so maybe that is what I did wrong.
@@joeblivion3472 Try to keep the family focus until you get the "family man" or "family patriarch" modifiers, as long as I know the modifiers do not expire or at least take long to disappear and these two give your character extra fertility for perpetuity, even without the family focus.
If you want to know a character fertility rate, you always can check a character fertility with the charinfo console command. In case of Aegon during this time period I think he always begins with 50% fertility rate.

The Marshals are commanders by default if not doing any council task. That's why you can't select them as "commanders" title.

Also if you really need as much Targaryens as possible I think there might be a way to legitimise Orys Baratheon and make him a true Targaryen
Oh yeah! You can do that, since I've done it before. I just didn't know how the viewers would respond to that. Many are probably fans of Orys Baratheon and desire to see him rule the Stormlands.
In my opinion The Stormlands should belong to a loyal stormlander house or at least the house the likes Aegon the most
@@ogseambert5775 Sadly, with the Dragon Conquest CB, you do not actually take the titles away from the person you are invading, you just subjugate them. So we cannot *really* appoint new lords of any respective regions... yet. Not until they give us a reason to be deposed and replaced.

So you should keep the blood pure as the targs get the coin flip event making them able to keep the inbreed trait from happening. Also you should do a brother hood without banners campaign. It’s a lot of fun, you start fun and can grow as each castle you take to get more troops, you can also do red god trickery
I believe the Brotherhood gets to function like a military command... or is it a warband? I don't remember but they get the ability to roam around raiding and conquering stuff without needing land, which is super awesome. Jon Snow gets something like that as well when he abandons the Night's Watch to fight the Boltons. It is a very interesting idea!

This series began very well I want very much to see the next episode, when finishing the conquest of Westeros you could conquer Those and delivery to your son with his second wife.
A surprise to be sure but a welcome one, i'm really hyped for this. could be good if you would do a ''200 Year ish'' playthough and see how Westeros devlopes :)

@@ojamesbury4131 Yes, sadly. I don't think MoD could carry over. I really wanted to see a world wide empire, but that damn mega war feature makes it so bloody difficult. I imagine turning that off and playing a non-westeros empire starting off would make for the most sense.

Glad you are enjoying the series! For your answers; I intend to keep the capital at Dragonstone because of the volcano there, increases the size and lifespan of our dragons, which will be essential to retaining control of Westeros. As for making House Tully the lords of the Riverlands, yes, I want to, but the dragon conquest CB doesn't take the titles of those you are conquering, you merely subjugate them. So sadly for Aegon, the Greyjoys will still rule the Riverlands, that is until they do something that warrants revoking their titles. Maybe House Tully will just revolt against them and retake their lands since the Ironborn have been weakened so much.
You make a good point about the sisters, Aegon never does marry anyone else beside those two. I can only hope that they give us a lot of children, otherwise desperate times will call for desperate measures. Oh and I do want to give Orys the Stormlands, but Argella, Argilac's daughter, has already married so she is unavailable for that and we won't be able to give the Stormlands to Orys because of the reason I mentioned above.

Have you tried to download the Tubbs' Better Faces submod? It inserts the DLC portraits from the base game into the mod. You should install it as it really improves the portraits.
Also, Hoare is pronounced like "whore", not "har-ah".
Still, looking forward to this series! I always love the Aegon's Conquest bookmark in the mod.
Are you sure it is pronounced that way? I thought I heard it pronounced like the way I was saying somewhere on YT in one of their animated series or something. I will admit, I have not spent a lot of time thinking about the proper pronunciation of the House name so you may very well be right.
Just think my folks will start asking questions if they hear me talking about burning whores over and over...
fairly certain. Like many descriptive (and sometimes silly) house names, such as Codd, Boggs, Greyjoy, Reed, etc, I'm pretty sure Hoare was derived by Martin from Hoary bats (and the meaning of greyishness, grey hair being ominous as it implies death) Bats have often been connected to Harrenhal (in the heraldry of Lothston & Whent). I think the double entendre of how the word sounds was probably just a delightful bonus for Martin (see, House Manwoody....)

Discovered your channel through Google Search. Glad I did--the Conquest is my favourite scenario! You should marry another High Valyrian with high fertility as Aegon's fertility is set low. Three wives might only produce two to three legitimate heirs!
What?! So that is why Aegon has so few babies.... thankfully I have viewers who are much smarter than myself and they have shared ideas for how to increase the dragon brood that will be necessary to maintain the Targ dynasty for a thousand years!

I think what I will do is once we have the Reach, we will retire the dragon riders to Dragonstone, and choose between the family focus or the seduction focus and try fixate on pumping out babies. Although, I hear that Aegon has some pretty bad fertility, not sure how to improve that...
It's BS that they set Visenya's fertility so low as well. Without giving Rhaenys low fertility. As Rhaenys banged Aegon far more often and produced only a single kid. Same number as Visenya who banged Aegon only a tenth as often.
I usually tweak that in my games. Reduce the fertility penalty slightly and add one to Rhaenys.
It does seem like Visenya is not getting quite that much love, at least from my perspective and of course, it is biased. I think Aegon having a prolific amount of children would be too much in favor of the conqueror, considering he has three dragons and capable riders and all that. Perhaps the mod makers just wanted to balance him out a tad.

@@Tleanantz Lmao, I do find their eagerness to be valyrian entertaining though. I did just learn yesterday that Celtigar is High Valyrian, so I definitely plan to use them in marriages in the future. Btw, how do you pronounce their house name? I seem to be pronouncing these names wrong.

It really depends. I imagine there will be quite a few episodes as I am making the conquest of each kingdom into its own episode and then I want to rule the Seven Kingdoms for a couple characters after Aegon's death. The whole purpose of the series is to create heirs worthy of ruling a dynasty for a thousand, thousand years.

Stay valyrian. The happiness you get isn't worth losing the bonuses for dragon taming and egg hatching. If the lords don't like it, they can talk it out with our dragons.

It depends on certain conditions. Age of dragon, terrain, the cooldown has to be inactive. If you have NO option to do it, my money would be on the dragon isn't old enough to do it, cannot fly or isn't actually tamed.

I was playing around with the scenario for fun yesterday and realized that Houses Velaryon and Celtigar are High valyrian as well, so intermarrying with them keeps us a nice supply of High Valyrians. Too bad I don't remember how to convert cultures to my culture.
i know you've already done being emperor of new Valyria so maybe in this campaign Aegon cna be Emperor of the Summer Sea as primary title.
stay Valyrian religion. makes the dragons easier to control. and yes marry some High Valyrian girl if you can. i dont think we need alliances because dragons should be all you need to keep them in line. also not being a total tyrannical asshole. Aegon was a good man once the conquest was over.

i wish someone could mod it so Aegon starts off dead so we can play as Queen Visenya. but the Targaryen siblings themselves are three of my all time favorites in ASOIAF.
I enjoy the title 'Emperor of The Summer Sea'. Not sure why, but I enjoy it. Sure, we can do that. The Summer Isles are weak and shouldn't be hard to control, I say as in past games they routinely slipped from our control, lol. The only issue I can see is the mega-war feature. That damn feature makes managing realms spanning continents tricky, but if we are only taking the Summer Islands, it shouldn't be difficult. We just need to find a worthy Lord Paramount of the Summer Sea. I agree with the rest of your points. I intend for Aegon to be a great ruler, since I want the Targ dynasty to live long after all three have died so focusing on proper rulership will be essential. I prefer Visenya because I like her name, her appearance, I like that she is a badass warrior queen, she is a deadly duelist and saved Aegon from being assassinated by Dornish assassins and because it seems to me that most people like Rhaenys more, so I guess I am an under dog type of guy.

if you really want to, you could start replacing all the Lord paramouncies with plot to incite revolt so that theyre loyal forever. i greatly dislike the idea of leaving House Greyjoy in control of the Riverlands like that.

Aegon was a 'good man' even during conquest. The amount of mercy he showcased and the times he restricted himself is impressive for a guy with a Dragon Army.
He actually kept his word too, making lards warden if they accepted to kneel, he also accepted surrenders during war.
He didn't simply burn people without reason, most of the time he burned those that thought to be able to stand to him.
This is true. When he told the Tullys that they were going to rule the Riverlands, he didn't then turn around and take it back when it suited him. Hopefully, I've done Aegon justice with the lets play so far. Does plotting to make your lord paramounts rebel count? What if those lord paramounts are disloyal conspirators against the crown?

At the faster speeds, so much shit is happening that you cannot respond to it in a timely matter and things fall to chaos. Well, until you get a message which forces you to pause time.
I don't mean to sound pretentious, but there is always the option to watch the video at a faster speed.

I would say make your main wife High Valyerian and your secondary wives can be whatever else you need them to be.
